🚀 BookmarkHub - Sigur, descentralizat și sincronizare a semnelor de carte între browsere.
BookmarkHub este o soluție open-source de gestionare a semnelor de carte concepută pentru dezvoltatori și utilizatori conștienți de confidențialitate. Nu stocăm datele dvs. de semne de carte; în schimb, vă oferim posibilitatea de a sincroniza semnele de carte între platforme folosind propriile servicii de stocare de încredere cu criptare end-to-end.
Caracteristici principale:
🌍 Sincronizare universală: O singură configurare pentru sincronizare între Chrome, Edge, Firefox și altele.
🔒 Confidențialitate pe primul loc: Criptare end-to-end AES-GCM încorporată. Semnele dvs. de carte rămân secretul dvs., indescifrabile chiar și pentru furnizorii de stocare.

- The New Update Ruined It. I used this extension for a very long time & it was amazing. It used to alert me with a red notification immediately whenever I add a new bookmark to my browser so I'd be able to upload & sync it. The Icon of the extension also used to be of a recognisable colour especially with the dark incognito mode of Google Chrome. Now, ALL OF THIS IS GONE! The icon is completely unrecognisable when using incognito mode on Google Chrome AND you don't get notified anymore when you add new bookmarks to your browser. All you get anew is that you HAVE TO give it permission to read and change data across multiple websites for it to work. Shame :(

- I've been using this bookmarks sync extension for the second year now. The previous interface was simple and easy to use, but this new interface appears complicated. When I click on the tutorial at the bottom left of the dashboard - to learn about this new interface - all I get is: "Error 404: This page could not be found." There is now a Pro Version, but that has left me wondering whether the Free version that I am on maintains, or has less features than what was available to users before this latest update/upgrade to the extension.

- I love this extension. BUT!!! i don't like new sht interface with account and paid functions, deducting a star just for that. I used to like the extension for its minimalist interface with just three buttons. Now I have to look for a different extension.

- Works great syncing between Edge and Chrome. I mainly use Edge, but I leave Chrome as bare bones without any extensions for troubleshooting purposes. But it is handy to have the same bookmarks for troubleshooting. Anyway, this does exactly what it says. Just simply upload your bookmarks (you use a private github gist, so no one can actually view them unless you give them access) on one, download on the other. You can nuke all the bookmarks first if you want. I did that on my first install to sync, but I haven't had any issues with duplicates or anything being overwritten or lost when I've redownloaded the same bookmarks I've uploaded. It intelligently doesn't dupe things.

- This extension saved me, working with 2 browser profiles (work and personal) in parallel, and trying to sync the bookmarks between them, this makes it super easy, whenever I update them on either profile. Just 2 things I'd like to point out- * The length of the bookmark, obviously has some limitation, because I had written some JavaScript bookmarklets, which got truncated, and now they don't work anymore. Not sure anything can be done about that, it may be a limitation of the JSON in the gist, but it may also be a bug in the implementation of the extension. * It would be really nice it the sync was automated (e.g. update the gist every time a bookmark is updted, and sync-update from the gist, every few minutes). Other than that, thank you very much for this extension!

- My notes as I go through the setup process. Hope it helps someone else. OPTIONAL: IN YOUR BROWSER: - Got your bookmark manager in settings. Find the export feature and export to a specific folder. - Go to the specific folder on your computer. Open the newly exported file in Notepad. Copy all of the contents. IN GITHUB: Create the GIST TO GET THE GIST-ID - Navigate to https://github.com/ - Log in ..or.. Create a GitHub account for youreself if you don't have one. - Click the +Plus sign top right next you your account/profile icon. Select "Create new Gist" - You'll be redirected to https://gist.github.com/ - Type a description for you Gist. Like "BookmarkHub_SyncedBookmarks" - Paste the contents of teh exported bookmarks into the large textbox. - Click [Create Secret Gist] - Copy the URL in your browser Address bar. - The Gist ID is the everything following the very last forward-slash in that URL (everything following your Github account/user name). IN GITHUB: CREATE THE GIST TOKEN: - Browse to >> https://github.com/settings/tokens/new - Type a description to Git that this is for the use of syncing bookmarks sith BookMarkHub. - Click >> "Gist" - Create gists... (GitHub defines a Gist as a simple way to share snippets and pastes with others. All Gists are Git repositories) - Click >> [Generate Token] - Immediately copy the newly generated toke. You won’t be able to do it later. IN THE BOOKMARKHUB EXTENSION'S SETUP: - Left-click on the BookmarkHub extension's icon in your browser's top bar.
