Description from extension meta

Hides Gemini elements from Google properties.

Image from store Hide Gemini
Description from store This CSS-only extension hides most persistent generative AI elements from Google properties, including Search, Docs, Drive, and GMail. Note that this extension only hides UI elements; it does not affect any backend calls or disable the product in its entirety. To avoid potential compatibility issues, it does not attempt to hide one-time promotional messages (like the first time “try using Gemini for X” popups) and only focuses on hiding the main persistent UI elements that activate the product. Current limitations: - Cannot hide elements within the Google Docs canvas (e.g. the “help me write” that appears on a blank Document) - Cannot hide the "Summarize this file" entry on the right-click menu within Google Drive - It always looks like there's a comments bar in Google Drive file views - Probably more? Feedback appreciated. Many of the items that I’ve hidden were first reported by users like you! Source available at https://hg.pfish.zone/personal/no-gemini/ !

  • (2025-07-01) Zeep: My ex girlfriend Google not listening to my many opinion strong pleads urging that I don't want to use Gemini for my searches. Of course she didn't listen, I had to get legal involved, it was an abusive relationship. Thank you for this extension.
  • (2025-07-01) Mohamed Yanis Azzi: Glad that there are people who still have brains !!!!!
  • (2025-06-26) Alice K: Thank all the Gods someone finally made this! I'm so sick of the useless AI trend seeming to never stop.
  • (2025-06-22) ryder: Gemini was annoying me, so this is great. There are still some things related to Gemini that'll pop up, I'm assuming hiding that content just isn't possible, but I would still recommend getting this extension as it lessens a significant amount of the shite :-P
  • (2025-06-19) Faith -: May this dev be blessed with 100 years of happiness! Thank you!
  • (2025-06-19) Tim Watkin: Love it! Just thought I'd report another Gemini sighting. Google Meets uses Gemini to summarise meetings. Would be cool to have that hidden as well. Thanks for your hard work!
  • (2025-06-15) Reece Vogel: Makes Google non-infuriating to use again!! May this dev always find happiness.
  • (2025-06-05) Elijah Worden: While it doesn't hide the button from YT atm (which is why I installed this) it hides it from everything else
  • (2025-05-28) Rachel Lazerus: Google has become utterly unusable without using this, as Google and its various programs have gone from essential to worthless and useless, crammed full of AI nobody asked for and nobody wants to use. Hiding Gemini is the only way people can actually get stuff done.
  • (2025-05-27) Jared Worley: Was working but now it seems that google is deactivating it. If i reinstall it works initially but then Gemini will be back on in a day or two. * seems to be working now*
  • (2025-05-23) Thomas Focken: Great initiative, if it could block more annoying buttons e.g. inside sheets it would be even better. But clearly works as described, fully appreciated, thanks a lot!!
  • (2025-05-18) Punk20: doesnt work for search ublock origin does better but i support the idea
  • (2025-05-15) Victoria Valpio: Works like a dream! I got so annoyed when my Google Docs got Gemini autoinstalled, and it kept on suggesting phrases and refining text – now the whole thing is gone.
  • (2025-05-14) Streamer: works
  • (2025-05-09) Lloyd L: Works as advertised. Thank you. I hope google takes note; give people the freedom to control UX, rather then forcing gemini on eveeryone, without consent, just to gather user info/data...
  • (2025-05-07) Cress Caribou: very helpful!! so far the only place I've still seen it is in gmail :)
  • (2025-05-02) Charity Torres: I practically got up and danced when I found this. Removed all the annoying Gemini stuff thats recently been plaguing google workspace. Two thumbs up!

  • (2025-04-29) Sam Kenny: Thank you.
  • (2025-04-29) Igor Spirin: Thanks a lot! It would also be great to remove the button from Google Meet, it is located in such a place that the user constantly hovers over it with the cursor, and at that moment a window appears with a suggestion to use gemini. It is very distracting and annoying
  • (2025-04-03) Milo McArtor: This is AMAZING I have been wishing that I could remove Gemini from searches because it pisses me off because its does what Gemini does and this is 10/10 and is perfect and Exactly what I wanted and expected this is a W Extension

  • (2025-03-29) Evee: Thank you, I couldn't STAND that annoying pos
  • (2025-03-25) Michael Rother: Does exactly what it states it does, and works great, even leaves the Actual Gemini Code alone, so you COULD technically still trigger it, using the keyboard shortcuts (ALT+H, for most "writing prompt" style features...).
  • (2025-03-18) Brendon Bolin: Stopped working for me on gmail. Tried disabling and re-enabling. The gemini icon shows up delayed after the rest of the page has loaded. I'm not sure if this is new behavior or not but I hadn't noticed it previously.
  • (2025-03-18) Jack Bull: Thank god for this extension I cannot stand Gemini.
  • (2025-03-04) Sabella Quey: Installed in Chrome March 2025. Literally worked for twenty seconds or something, and then I refreshed my gmail and gemini was right back on it. ARRGH.
  • (2025-02-12) Lucy Egan: Works perfectly, Gemini sucks
  • (2025-02-11) Kasper Norrman: The virus called Gemini plagued my Google account and it was affecting my work, and now it's GONE! This is the best extension since AdBlock. Thank you for slaying the dragon, you're my hero!
  • (2025-02-09) Greg Jobber: Does what it says.
  • (2025-02-04) Kevin Post: Very thankful for this extension. MANY people find these tools to be annoying and invasive.
  • (2025-02-04) Bethany Skaggs: Best extension I've ever installed! It immediately disables Gemini from gmail. Google: Stop sinking billions of dollars into products people don't want. If you really feel like you want to implement it, MAKE IT OPTIONAL.
  • (2025-02-03) J: I never write reviews but I feel like it is important to show Google how much everybody hates this stuff. Nobody wants these extremely invasive AI tools on every inch of the internet and Google needs to understand that.
  • (2025-02-03) Ed Thanhouser: Bless you. Hero.
  • (2025-02-03) Zachary Simms: THANK YOU - YOU'VE SAVED ME FROM A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH

  • (2025-02-02) K Sinnott: Awesome, thank you!
  • (2025-02-01) Brian Storm Graversen: Thank you - gemini completely ruined the experience of using gmail, so getting rid of it this easy is great.
  • (2025-01-31) Nicholas Ramos: So happy Gemini is purged from my emails. Like damn it's so bad and no one asked for it, so this app is perfect. 5/Gemini Sucks
  • (2025-01-31) Madelyn Gengelbach: Glorious freedom from Gemini, if only visually. Many thanks...worked as promised.
  • (2025-01-30) George Fraley: Be gone with you. Huzzah!
  • (2025-01-30) Allie Philips: It worked
  • (2025-01-29) gerri theriault: Thank you SO much! I can't get rid of it, but at least you're allowing me to HIDE it! How long before Google, Microsoft etc. realize that shoving AI down our throats is counter-productive??
  • (2025-01-29) Bryan Hoggatt: Thanks Paul, much appreciated. It's crazy that we can't turn off Gemini on Google without also shutting off actually useful features like spelling and grammar check. Good extension, does what it says.
  • (2025-01-26) Melody Wilkins: OMG thank you! This Gemini stuff got shoved on us right as our business is gearing up for a busy season. I have spent hours trying to disable this on our workspace account. Ironically enough Gemini itself told me about your extension - I told it quite rudely to get rid of itself and it suggested two options. Disabling the smart features (not practical) or using this extension. Guess the word is spreading!
  • (2025-01-24) Gavin Long: Thank you
  • (2025-01-23) Jason B: Thank you for making this. Big middle finger to google, required to use you at work, have deleted you from my personal life. Get bent.
  • (2025-01-23) Jessica Smith: I have never reviewed an extension until today, and I've installed many. THANK YOU!
  • (2025-01-22) Alex Mulvey: Thanks for making this! You are a life savor! One spot I noticed it still I was wondering if you could work on whenever you get to it is on Google Docs. When I highlight over text, a box appears for Gemini that looks like a pen and a diamond/star thing. Either way greatly appreciated my friend!
