• (2025-03-12) Liability: The new UI is inconvenient, strangely formatted, and not at all visually appealing. Instead of having bookmarks appear as buttons in the center you can instantly press, you have to open a submenu. Instead of having a visible and central search bar as the focal point, it's shoved into a corner. Its downscaled size means you can only see around 4 words at a time while typing. Not to mention, now you see more of the ads than the actual home page content, and they are framed so strangely. Everything you do to interact with the tab is shoved into the top left corner, meanwhile the right side of the screen has two ads, and the bottom of the screen has an ad as well. The center is left empty aside from an unnecessary clock (there's a clock on the bottom right of every pc screen...) Hello? I'm in my browser to search, not to look at mediocre attempts at aesthetic appeal with some ads for extra glamour.

However, I am sad because it doesn't work with firefox and I'm trying to move away from some of the companies that make all these causes need so much support. Thanks for making a great thing anyways.

• (2024-06-14) VALERIE WONG (valqrie): A minimalistic, customisable new tab screen that is eye-pleasing -- and also (seemingly) helps out charities. However, the loading time is a tad too slow & the ads are blocking everything. Maybe make the ads smaller?

• (2024-05-19) Will H: I'm trying to find out why when I set my Bookmarks to "Show on New Tab," it does not do this with Tab for a Cause enabled. I can set it to "Always On" and it shows, but no luck otherwise. Would be more than glad to increase my rating if there's a solution to this. Great extension otherwise!

I had it layered with Ecosia so that every search and every new tab opened either planted trees or donated to charity. But I got a new laptop and was required to sign in to Tab For a Cause again. The sign in page says "choose a username," and it's the only sort of sign in page I can find. Of course, it tells me the username I'm trying to put in is taken (by me) and won't allow me to sign in. I'm not making a new account every time I need to sign in, so I'll no longer be using this extension. I'm not the only person who's had this problem, according to Reddit, but I've been unable to find a solution on the internet. I've tried deleting and redownloading the extension, but it hasn't changed. Additionally, I downloaded this extension originally because LegalEagle recommended it in his video on Roe v. Wade, and I wanted to help donate to women's rights organizations specifically and was under the impression I could choose which charities my tabs donated to, which as it turns out, I'm unable to do. Pretty disappointed.

Also I use the notes on the side all the time. I would love it if there were options for even more ads! or more agressive/expensive ads like popups or videos. If those could make each tab have a little more value.

I'd love an option to still donate to them while using the regular extension.

I especially love how it lets you vote to chose what programs will be supported through charity as well. However, I've had issues lately where the tab screen says my adblocker (uBlock Origin) is on and preventing ads from appearing, when the adblocker is not on. So I feel like I need to disable this extension until this issue can be remedied.

• (2022-12-22) orange-ranger: Awesome app giving out to charity for doing something so simple on your computer. However, it's a blank, black screen for me after I switched to classic mode. It used to have beautiful backgrounds with customizable options. I uninstalled and reinstalled. That black screen is default? There are no options or buttons to change it. I can't even go into the settings like before. I've had this extension for years and had never experienced this.

• (2022-08-04) Jacbo: In addition to supporting charity, the new homepage has beautiful full screen background images that are always changing. I would use this just for that homepage alone. I also like that it plays nice with AdBlock+ without having to whitelist the site, as in the ads still show and earn money even without whitelisting the site to allow ads.
