• (2025-05-04) Desmond Lau: This has been amazing for me but recently it has stopped working. The button disappeared, the hotkey don't work. This continues to be the issue even after i got the 1 day free trial. I'll be more than happy to pay the $12 lifetime subscription once it works. It seems that the problem coincidence with the freemium model transition, roughly a month ago. p/s - the incredible annoyance I have with watching youtube now is a testimonial to what a great extension this has been. 5-stars what it has done for me and hope it will continue to do for me.

I'm hugely pro-donationware and not at all upset about the price. But the blunt truth is that you turned some of the free features into paid features requiring a login lol There are other free options that are just as reliable, sorry. You're right that one star was unfair, I have adjusted it to three as I did use it for months as a free user.
• (2025-03-20) Olavi Varis: Monetization features have begun to creep in and thus enshittification is in full steam, including paid promotion overlays and locking previously free features behind a paywall - the extension also just started to require permissions for notifications, which are DEFINITELY NOT REQUIRED for the core functionality. Uninstalling right now.

For some reason, it now seems to be auto full-screening every video I click on regardless of whether or not I want that. I don't see any obvious setting to stop this from happening. If there even is one, it shouldn't be as hidden as it is. If there isn't one, thats even worse. Regardless, there are other apps that give the same functionality without the boneheaded design. Simply switching to one of those

• (2025-01-13) Jacky Li: The button doesn’t always appear, and you constantly have to reload the page just to get it to show up. It’s beyond annoying. What’s even worse is that the auto-fullscreen feature no longer works. It used to function perfectly, but now it’s locked behind a paywall. Charging for what was once a basic feature is absolutely unreasonable. If the extension worked as intended, I’m sure many users, including myself, would have been happy to donate. But forcing an annual subscription just to restore basic functionality is unacceptable. --- Update: I uninstalled this extension from Chrome and replaced it with the "YouTube Fullscreen Mode" script from GreasyFork. It works way better, gets fast updates, and is completely open-source and free.
• (2024-12-17) Ricky Diess: was a very solid extension before they added premium, not only did they put auto fullscreen behind a paywall, they made the app much less reliable (wont even load sometimes). The only reason I was using this in the first place was because tampermonkey couldnt auto sync scripts across devices meaning id have to manually install the script (that essentially does what this extension does for free) on every device. Now that this is the less convenient option of the two, looks like im going to be switching back.
• (2024-12-07) Crow With Rights: it's pretty useful but does have alot of issues, like having to adjust permissions constantly and reloading youtube to get it to work, rating it 2 stars because when it does work it's very usefull.
• (2024-12-06) Séamus Ó Donnghaile: Works; fine freemium model for my needs - sign up is misleading, but it's totally optional and not required for the extension to function... unless you want the premium features. I would suggest the developer move to a donation based approach and open a buymeacoffee or kofi allowing folk to buy a lifetime model rather than try and make a subscription, especially with how anti-subscription folk are becoming nowadays. I understand that they are in an economic difficulty at the moment, but if you drive away everyone then you won't even have a userbase to get funding from.

Not worth keeping around :( edit: +1 star, glad the dev is working on it. I've moved to a macro on my kb that appends the "watch =?" URL with "watch_popup?=v" and am back to 0 extensions.

• (2024-10-03) Muhammed Durra: I personally liked this extension coz it was exactly what I need :) the only feature I miss in the new pricing model is the auto-toggle which I started to not use recently :) I also liked that the search bar appears when you hover on its location, I dont know if this is a new thing or already there :D yet I wonder if the new pricing model will save you from what you lost. I hope you get a better job and consider pricing also the price is not clarified before logging to the billing site

For $5 a year (which you can cancel the auto-renew) aslong as it's updated with YouTube UI changes I will be happy!

• (2024-08-10) Kivarnis Rilencea: This works fantastically after finding a conflicting addon and disabling it, not sure why this suddenly happened as they have coexisted for years, but this is far more important and is required for me. Old: This no longer works correctly and the 4.2 update hasn't changed this. This worked fine up until recently but now it acts like theater mode without scrolling and some elements overlap onto the video etc. This was a 5 star requirement up until this occurred, hope this can be resolved and Youtube hasn't broken this addon's ability to ever function. Edit: I further investigated this for your comment below. Better YouTube Theater Mode was the culprit of the issues, disabling it resolves it at the cost of it's features. This wasn't a issue before, but it could just as easily be them.

Thanks for the look and quick turnaround! :) ORIGINAL: I have used this extension for a while now and have not had any issues. However, after the recent updates for YouTube's layout changes the extension now appears to not fully handle very small windows. I use an ultrawide monitor and often have my YouTube window small in the corner and this extension has allowed this to work flawlessly. However, it appears there is now a minimum size that the extension supports that was not previously there and the video and controls now flow off the screen with no scroll available. I recognize that this is a niche use case - but it is disappointing after I have used the extension for a long time without this issue.

• (2024-07-16) Jean Rioux: I'm using this extension on the Brave browser and it's been working perfectly until recently. Now when toggling to full screen, it doesn't actually expand to fit the window and will basically expand to theater mode, but will not allow you to scroll. I used to use this extension so I could have Youtube on a quarter of my screen, which worked perfectly until recently. Now this extension doesn't seem to work at all. I'll update this review if this get's patched.

Some bugs I've noticed if it helps with development: - if you enter fullscreen and then exit fullscreen the 'fullscreen windowed' button disappears. - while in 'fullscreen windowed' mode, the button and shortcut ('t') to toggle between 'theater' mode and 'standard' mode are buggy or not visible - issues seem to be incompatibility with using the built in theatre mode and the extensions full screen windowed mode Still incredibly usable and helpful. Just cant toggle between theater and fullscreen windowed.

While the video does still enter windowed fullscreen, the timeline and controls don't span the full width if the video was in theater mode. Good to see the dev being responsive to other comments though.
