  • (2024-07-19) Lori Schwab: Thank you Charles for the instructions. The Amazon Silk was not as easy as I thought, but followed his instructions and it took me a couple minutes to do.
  • (2024-02-21) Gina Martino: I had to use the instructions Charles gave. Please make sure you give us all the instructions to do what we need. We are not mind readers.
  • (2024-01-06) Anthony Barnes: It works well but as many here have said, the synching process is not as easy as the instructions make it appear. Nevertheless, I was able to get it to synch my bookmarks on my Fire 10 Tablet in under 30 minutes and without assistance. I am rating the app based on how well it works. Take care.
  • (2023-11-30) Charles Van Liew: This extension works for what it is, but the instructions could be improved. Here's what I did to make it work, and it took only a few minutes (even after I had to poke around myself to figure out what their instructions were missing). 1) Add the extension through Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/amazon-silk-bookmarks/hgdccplaplflamamehnmlcipaekgkjnp 2) Go to your Chrome Extension Manager: chrome://extensions/ 3) Click "Details" for the Amazon Silk Bookmarks extension. 4) Move the slider widget to "Pin to Toolbar" so it will appear at the top of your Chrome window on the toolbar (it will be an Amazon logo with blue background that says "internet" as you see next to the name of the extension in the Chrome Web Store). 5) Click on the icon mentioned in 4 that you now see on your toolbar. 6) Sign in with your Amazon account as shown in the instruction images provided by the developer above. 7) Close the window that opened when you clicked the icon. 8) Click the icon again to reopen the extension and select "Import" next to Chrome Bookmarks. Once you have done this, go to your Amazon device and open Silk Browser. Follow the instructions given by Amazon on that device to import the bookmarks. I have relisted these instructions below for simplicity. 1) Open the Silk Browser, go to your "Bookmarks" page. 2) Tap the bookmarks menu icon (looks like three vertical dots). 3) Tap "Import From Chrome." It may take some time to sync your bookmarks. After this, you can access these bookmarks by going to the kebab icon (three vertical dots) in Silk (at the top, righthand corner), selecting the "Bookmarks" icon, and selecting the "Windows Chrome" option under "Imported Bookmarks". Unfortunately, even after going through this process, I am very dissatisfied that there isn't a seamless way to bring in my general browsing history, saved passwords, etc. This only brings in the bookmarks that you have generated in Chrome -- none of the additional, useful information for your online profile and history.
  • (2023-08-25) Brett Foster: Your instructions were absolutely awful and totally incorrect. I had to call tech support and it took him well over an hour to figure out how to synch the Silk browser's bookmarks with Chrome's bookmarks. It was probably over 2 hours. I forgot to check the length of the call before hanging up. The process to document it would be incredibly complex if some poor tech writer had to document it. You need to make it simple like your instructions make it sound. How can anybody make something so complex and then document it so poorly is beyond comprehension. Shame on you. I only hope it actually works as it only started the process of saying it was synching the bookmarks.

  • (2021-08-16) Amy Lynn: I've spent hours trying to make this work. It's downloading a massively OLD cache bookmarks file. Not a current one. Over and over. I've removed the it and reinstalled it. Signed into it even. No luck. I'd also like the ability to remove bookmarks that I don't want like I can on any other device!

  • (2019-08-15) Irene Woods: I tried for a couple hours and did everything they said to do. Got pop up messages that it was syncing and it was successful. Still cannot access the Chrome bookmarks. I then called Amazon and got a tech who advised NOT to attempt it. They do not support. My info could be compromised. A little strange I think as it's advertised BIG TIME on the Silk home screen.
