- Just to let people know, this used to be free, I know because it was my go-to for a long time. The fact that you now have to pay just to use it, is the most insanely laughable thing in the world to me. It would be one thing if paying was optional, as I actually would donate to keep things like this going, hell if this was a service that required payment back in the beginning, also understandable. But going from this service being 100% free, to now requiring payment just for the ability to use dark mode, is honestly very gross to me. - Don't know what everyone else is saying about subscriptions but I have had Google dark mode extension for a while now and i've never paid for it. Im on a Chromebook though so that might play a factor? anyways fire app. Highly recommend, super easy to toggle on and off doesn't mess with anything it shouldn't and is easy to finetune and adjust.

- I was a very big fan of this extension. In my opinion, it was the best dark mode extension on the Chrome Webstore. It worked perfectly for 99.9% of all websites I encountered, not ust Docs. I respect the producer's right to make money off his or her products. However, the functionality of the program is not worth the expense when chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark is tolerable and free.

- This is a life saver! I use dark mode for everything (from phone to macbook), but usually like working in light mode on docs as a preference. But where this comes in handy is I film youtube videos for work and read of docs for scripts - turning this on ensures that there's no screen light shining onto my face and messing with my staging light. However, the recent update to add a paywall for a simple feature that other chrome tools offer for free is a wild decision - can't say the ulitity justifies a montly fee. Perhaps a lifetime license for $15 seems more digetsible. Untill then it's a sad uninstall for me.

Edit: Upon closer inspection of permissions, payment handlers is enabled by default, highly suspicious Do not download unless you want every, and I mean EVERY webpage's color scheme to be irreversibly inverted, the extension automatically applies the dark theme to all webpages, and needs to be manually disabled, often to not much effect, though I am on Opera GX browser so I can't automatically blame the extension for everything, as there is bound to be compatibility issues. The real problem arises when trying to uninstall the extension, as its effects persist after removal, and it's quite scummy that this frankly underwhelming service is suddenly locked behind a paywall after a period of 3 days, without prior warning or indication that it will do this on the Web Store page. On a more personal note, I don't see how it's even worth the paywall, considering the description that is blatantly created by generative AI, and my sneaking suspicion that the extension itself was created in a similar manner, due to the nonfunctional features that would not have even made their way into an open alpha, suggesting a lack of testing, and possibly by extension human involvement entirely.
