Description from extension meta

They're listening. Make some noise.

Description from store New in Noiszy 2.0: Add your own custom sites. Whatever you do online, you leave digital tracks behind. These digital footprints are used to market to you - and to influence your thinking and behavior. Congress has voted to allow ISPs to collect and sell your online information without your consent. Erasing these footprints - or not leaving them in the first place - is becoming more difficult, and less effective. Hiding from data collection isn't working. Instead, we can make our collected data less actionable by leaving misleading tracks, camouflaging our true behavior. We can resist being manipulated by making ourselves harder to analyze - both individually, and collectively. We can take back the power of our data. Noiszy is a browser plugin that creates meaningless web data - digital "noise." It visits and navigates around websites, from within your browser, leaving misleading digital footprints around the internet. Noiszy only visits a list of sites that you approve, and only works when you turn it on. Run Noiszy in the background while you're working, or start Noiszy when you're not using your browser, and it sends meaningless data to these sites for as long as you let it run. This meaningless data dilutes the significance of your "real" data, by creating a campaign of misinformation. You become more difficult for an algorithm to understand, market to, or manipulate. You can outsmart the "filter bubble". To use Noiszy: Open a new tab. Click the Noiszy icon. Choose the sites you want Noiszy to randomly browse, and click Start. Noiszy randomly chooses from your list of sites. Then, every minute or so, it randomly chooses from and clicks on links within those pages, choosing only onsite links that don't open new windows. After about 2-5 onsite clicks, Noiszy randomly chooses another site from the list, and repeats the process. This continues (even when your tab is in the background) until you close the tab or click Stop.

  • (2021-02-08) Sun Kim: Awesome extension. Been looking for something like this. Works great! A few things I wouldn't mind (at your leisure): 1) min / max range randomizer to visit the next link 2) smarter AI about not visiting login links, other non-useful links 3) a way to load more sites in batch. Either copy/paste or load from a file or URL 4) there are top web site lists like top 1M sites where maybe you can hook into it and load random websites to visit - of course skipping the mail order brides, pharma, xxx sites.
  • (2019-08-27) Timothy Ive: It prevents good future to occur. It increases entropy and makes death of the Universe closer.
  • (2018-04-22) Santos Medina: Make the web great again!. Great start.
  • (2018-03-01) T D: Looks great but no https support or IP support or proper subdomain support
  • (2017-04-16) Great! I look forward to a larger list of sites and/or the ability to add sites myself.
  • (2017-04-11) Leo August: This extension appears to contact advertising sites in the background, while no browsing is taking place. MalwareBytes alerted me to multiple instances of blocked outgoing connections to sites NOT in the list of sites specified in Noizy. When I disabled the extension, the notifications stopped.
  • (2017-04-11) Qualitas Group: Great! I understand the struggle they must face in not letting this become abused, but I would like to add a few of my own sites to the list that would make it look more like I'm the one actually browsing.
  • (2017-04-11) Shah: this is just dumb
  • (2017-04-07) Louis Berding: Heard about this on Security Now. I agree fully, this has potential to be a great tool! The extension it's self works perfectly on my machine.
  • (2017-04-03) Dan Atkinson: Great idea, severely hobbled by the fact that you can't choose which sites to hit.
  • (2017-04-01) Sylvain Kalache: Good start but without the ability to add custom domain and with this very small list of pre-chosen domain, I do not think it will be efficient.
  • (2017-03-31) Nick B.: Good start to a horrible future. Thank you developer. :)
  • (2017-03-31) JD Richter: This is a good start. It will be even better if/when they update it to allow custom domain lists. Internet service providers can sell our data, but Noiszy will make some of that data useless and random.
  • (2017-03-31) Lefteris Grammatas: Its easy to use - set it and forget it - and love the purpose
