- (2025-04-15) Len Fox: Because this extension only passes the minimum information to the engine it uses to check the URL your are visiting, it provides better privacy than using browser extensions of the listed engines separately (using their own browsing extension). Upside of this extension that the delay is minimal (strangely it scored better in performance tests than for instance Bitdefender Traffic light), so besides offering broader protection and better privacy it also provides great performance. NOTE: (for what it is worth): I like a "less is more" approach. Because Valkyrie and TotalAV did not do much and Emsisoft and GDATA both use Bitdefender with their own engines, therefor I opted for Microsoft Smartscreen, Norton and Bitdefender. EDIT: after the update to version 1.07, I noticed that the newly added Symantec Browser Protection blocked 70%, Bitdefender 25% and Norton 5% when enabling all engines. This is partly explained by the sequence in which the API's are called (same order as the extension's enable/disable popup). When taking a look in the browser console, I also noticed a pattern in "safe website" results in which Symantec, Bitdefender and Norton usually responded within 10 millisecs and Microsoft and Emsisoft usually took over 200 ms to respond and Total and Gdata showed mixed results (sometimes <10 and sometimes > 200ms). UPDATE (for what it is worth): I now have enabled only Symantec, Bitdefender and Norton webprotections for best balance between detection and fastest 'safe website' results. Thanks for this great all-in-one webprotection extension!
- (2025-02-11) Bayu 10: i think it will be much more better if you would like to add : 1) mcafee web advisor & malwarebytes browser guard engines 2) low trust from total webshield because your total webshield only based on malicious database please consider to add the features.. thank you..
