COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK. Jessica: “Having ADHD and processing issues means that I read very slow because my brain can’t focus on the words enough to both read them and process what they mean at a decent pace. Using Bionic Reading® has allowed me to feel functional and productive when I’m reading something lengthy – it’s such a GAME CHANGER!” Lisa: “I haven’t read fiction for 20 years. I read what I needed to read. It almost hurts my brain to read normal font. But now I’m going to read fiction again! Bionic Reading® works for me and I can read 2–3 times faster! AMAZING! This is a LIFE CHANGER! Thank you so much!” Patrick: “OK, Bionic Reading® is the real deal. I already read quickly, but I read twice as fast with Bionic Reading®.” Reaction from Daniel: “You’re not joking!” Carla: “WOW! I was able to read quickly and fluently with Bionic Reading®. It allowed me to understand the context of the paragraph much better than when I have to squint and focus on every word, which not only tires me out, but also makes me lose track of what I'm reading. Bionic Reading® is brilliant!” Nestor: “Your tool is gorgeous, it’s helping me a lot. My sight is reduced because one of my transplanted corneas has become opaque and Bionic Reading® is helping me a lot to read easier and comprehend faster.” TYPOGRAPHY. DESIGN. SWITZERLAND. • (2023-12-19) Tenille: UPDATE 12/19/23: Still 2 Stars Extension appears to be working again... Fantastic! BUT... When you use it on a page, you get THREE back-to-back popups (explaining how the extension works and where to find settings and whatnot). ...on every. Single. New. Page. The popups were helpful the first time, but that information is also already available in the settings to review if you're ever confused or didn't read/remember the anything in said popup. So why is there even a popup at all? Why is there no way to disable the popup? I could understand the first time (or couple of times) this extension is used, but *every* time? This extension is predominantly used to help/support neurodivergents with reading and processing. We're already having to take extra steps in order to be more effective at reading and processing information. What neurotypical dev (and their manager) at this company thought these persistent popups wouldn't be intrusive and distracting for people who already struggle with focus, attention, sensory sensitivities, and/or emotional regulation? Please. We just want to read without having to click a million more boxes and jump through even more hoops because we live in a society that is not very accommodating. To add insult to injury, there is NO utilization of you own BionicReading software in any popup? Like at all? Really? These might be even more annoying/distracting than the incessant popups on websites asking to signup for their email list to get a discount because at least you have the ability to block those popups. These popups are like having a child interrupting your entire thought process with already known and therefore irrelevant statements like, "HEY IDGAF ABOUT THE RESEARCH YOU'RE TRYING TO READ LOOK AT THESE COOL SHINY SETTINGS OPTIONS" every single time you need to read. I've now lost 45-60 minutes of my day just to give feedback in the hopes that this is heard and changed... At this point, my brain is no longer in a place interested in or capable of studying/reading because with anything I pull up, I know my flow and focus will be interrupted ***again*** in a way I have zero ability to control or mitigate, and then have to deal with the growingly irrational rage. So please. For the love of all that holy. Just stop, consider how literally majority of humans feel about uncontrollable popups, and do better. With all of the incredible things this software does, this really isn't the hard part---it's the easiest part. ....will update rating to the 4 or 5 it would deserve when this app effectively and consistently does strictly what is advertised without being more frustrating and distracting than it is helpful for its actual target audience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review 6/12/23: 2 Stars Something is broken with the extension. I've tried multiple websites at this point and when the page tries to load with the bionic extension, it populates a pop-up that isn't coded correctly (see below). • (2023-11-08) Daniel Mendelson (Danny): Disfunctional
  • (2023-11-01) Anchor Lin: stupid pop ups can't ever close even if you do what they ask.
  • (2023-10-04) Stephanie Motta: Worked for me! I have two screens so I open one webpage on one screen and activate BR and then have the same page open on the other screen so I can switch back in forth. IDK why but I like having both options. When I read with both I retain more information
  • (2023-10-02) karn soo: not working feel like cheated my money many problems wrong expiry date unable to work on docx file too wasted my time
  • (2023-09-26) Steven de Windt: I love the fact that new tools are being created for aiding in reading, This tool has helped me a lot in reading the small amount of text I can actually change to bionic reading. Since it is automatic in many instances, it does not seem to recognize what text I actually want to make bionic, so I end up reading a disclaimer rather than the content of an email, for example. I home that the developers can soon come with a more creative idea to fix this issue, maybe change the text on the page itself? Or is it possible to select the text to want to read and let the tool only transform the selected text?
  • (2023-09-24) Kyle Lee: It does work for me, for those having issues. Once you install the extension, try refreshing all webpages before you try to enable them for bionic reading. Worked like a charm for me
  • (2023-09-21) Amiri Nael Gómez Martínez: no funciona
  • (2023-08-09) Molly Witmer: Was not able to make it work, sadly.
  • (2023-08-05) Dale Thomas: You can't read PDFs with the Chrome extension they force you to buy their desktop app. You can't log into the desktop app with a Google sign in after you make a purchase. This extension is about the worst experience I have had with extensions.
  • (2023-07-19) Andrea Patiño: No sirve. Doesn't work.
  • (2023-06-28) אמיר מולאי: doesnt work
  • (2023-06-17) Michael Jefferson: Bionic Reading changed my life. If you're reading this you probably already know the benefits of this text style. This extension works for me, as I mostly use it to read news articles. I pinned the extension to my toolbar then navigate to the article and press the BR button. Giving 4/5 stars because you have to manually "bionify" each webpage. It would be nice if BR was more integrated into the browsing experience.
  • (2023-05-30) Andrey Oliveira: Very efficient, one of the best available for this purpose. The only problem is that it doesn't work very well on pages translated with Google Translator.
  • (2023-05-30) Theodore: Many websites don't present the content in correct way or intentionally present information so that plugins cant capture content. So, if there was a popup option in this plugin, then I could copy-paste text into that popup, and ask that text to be rendered with bionic method. That would be really useful. As of now, this doesn't work on half the sites I use. Or, it highlights the wrong content - like it highlights the navigation bar content instead of the description. I agree those websites may not be presenting the content in the right way - but there should be a workaround for such content, so that the user is not left abandoned.
  • (2023-05-13) James Cobalt: You must pin the extension and click it to run it each time. This will then copy the content of the webpage to a special Bionic Reading page and apply the Bionic styling to it. Unfortunately, this process is slow enough that it's hard to imagine it saving time on a webpage unless you're reading the longest of long form articles. And even then... the Bionic styling removes things like commas and hyphens, which may be fine for speed reading to quickly get the gist, but can slow you down as you double take sentences to re-interpret what it's trying to say e.g. the class "Let's eat Grandma" vs "Let's eat, Grandma". A neat idea that isn't ready for the masses in neither execution nor utility.
  • (2023-05-13) Kevan Dodhia: Lol doesn't work at all. Ended up using JiffyReader instead.
  • (2023-05-13) MohammadHossein Haqiqatkhah: Stuck on cookie concent window thus useless.
  • (2023-05-13) Sir Bughunter: To everyone saying "it doesn't work anymore"... It works pretty well. You just need to reload a page if a tab was already cached in your browser and then click manually each time on the icon for the extension to load the configuration of it. I can't give it 5 stars yet, because of the need of having to manually activate the extension and the sheer complexity of the options. I AM NOT a psychologist or scientist who knows which settings influence what exactly and who can set up his configurations flawlessly... Some help would be greatly appreciated here. Apart from this, this could help neurodiverse people like me read MUCH FASTER than before. So thank you for all you do! <3
  • (2023-05-08) J J: das Gejammer hier ist ja nicht zum aushalten - freut euch doch, dass einige Texte besser lesbar sind als euch darüber aufzuregen, dass nicht alle Formate unterstützt werden. Find das ne super Sache.
  • (2023-05-08) Guilherme Augusto Rodrigues: Does not work.
  • (2023-05-07) David C Margotta: Tried it on six different websites, in Chrome and Vivaldi and finally gave up. It does not work at all, anywhere.
  • (2023-05-04) Belén B: No funcionó
  • (2023-05-03) TW-TS Wong: Doesn't work. Don't waste your time to get disappointed.
  • (2023-05-03) Carlos Guadarrama: Was working before. Not working now. I click it and it does nothing.
  • (2023-04-21) Jade M: I love bionic reading and use the web version and android app very frequently, but this chrome extension does not work. The extension is pinned in my browser. However, when I click it, either nothing at all happens or an error page loads with a cookies permission box popped up over it. It is impossible to either accept or reject cookies as those buttons do nothing. It is not even possible for me to read the entire error message behind the popup because there is no way to get rid of the popup. The only way to fix the page is to refresh it.
  • (2023-04-20) alan sun: Possibly because I am in China, the waiting time required for the conversion is too long. I am not sure if the plugin depends on the network. If it does, it is very troublesome.
  • (2023-04-19) LuDoo o: Geht gar nicht. Egal ob englische oder deutsche Artikel
  • (2023-04-17) chakaponi: Не обрабатывает русский язык
  • (2023-04-17) Malte Iwanicki: It does translate the text into a bionic reading text, but it does this in a seperate reader which doesnt have the format of the website anymore. Little useful. I found a better app
  • (2023-04-16) Arseny Makarov: it works, but the experience sucks, because the extension doesn't preserve selected display preferences and most annoyingly shows the cookies prompt and user manual overlay ON EVERY NEW PAGE I turn it on.
  • (2023-04-16) Jaime Baez: Working great so far for reading books online.
  • (2023-04-13) Erik Klamer: Why publish an extension if it doesn't even work at all.
  • (2023-04-13) Existing Observer: broken cant use
  • (2023-04-02) Nicolas de greef: One of the best app's i ever used to facilitate speed reading
  • (2023-03-30) Megan Smith: It works, but there is far too much contrast between the bold and the fine print to be legible. ETA: And now it won't turn off, even when removing the extension.
  • (2023-03-27) Tom Allain: love the idea, but it really should just do the BR stuff on any text on the page, in context, not in some other viewer that cant handle site functionality. i think this may only be for long articles or books, so i wont use this much at all.
  • (2023-03-20) Chris G.: Works just fine. Pin the extension to your browser > navigate to the page you want to read > click the extension favicon and the page will load. Would prefer the next to be modified in page so all images/graphics could remain vs being navigated to a new text only view. Still pretty good for news sites.
  • (2023-03-18) Patrick Veilleux: The App is not working because it is not requesting the correct permissions to work.
  • (2023-03-17) Emma-louise James: PLEASE MAKE THIS WORK!!
  • (2023-03-16) Howard Gil: Does not work
  • (2023-03-16) Leah Olbrich: Downloaded the extension but could not figure out how to make it work.
  • (2023-03-15) tan bob: does not work right now
  • (2023-03-14) Sean Mascarenhas: Currently doesn't work.
  • (2021-01-07) Alan Zhang: I love this idea and enjoy the experience in reeder app. but this plugin seems not working at many site, for example: https://reactjs.org/docs/getting-started.html https://www.typescriptlang.org/docs/handbook/advanced-types.html
  • (2020-12-27) Daun Ozuna: given depth-perception (related to years of staring at screens) issues i have, it greatly enhances my reading performance. I also set span{font-family:monospace;} for an added boost
  • (2020-11-17) Michael Fan: This extension interferes with the proper rendering of Amazon sites. If a product has variants, e.g. small, medium, large, the variant button would be crammed together and hover on the web page as one scrolls. Disabling it instantly allows proper rendering.
  • (2020-06-22) Rodrigo Bressane: Lovely extension. It would be awesome to have a keyboard shortcut to toggle between on/off states for a given site. Can't wait to see where this one goes.
  • (2020-02-09) Matej Kováč: Does not currently work in Microsoft Edge 80.0.361.48.
  • (2020-01-29) Fabian B.: Nachtmodus? Sehr zufrieden, wäre super wenn ihr einen darkmode d.h. schwarzer oder grauer hintergrund mit weißen Buchstaben integrieren könntet!
