With the IT Glue Chrome extension, you’ll have instant access to IT Glue information whenever you need it. You can quickly and securely access all of your IT Glue passwords, create passwords, and preview assets right from within the browser extension. This means no more switching pages and no more copy/paste of usernames and passwords to sign in to websites and services. The extension also supports Single Sign-On (SSO), should your organization have it enabled. Now you can also experience the AI-powered efficiency of IT documentation with the Smart SOP Generator.
Smart SOP Generator
Open your IT Glue Chrome extension, click Smart SOP Generator in the menu and hit 'Start Recording'!
Our feature seamlessly captures your screen, keystrokes, and clicks, making documentation effortless. Plus, you can preview your capture in real-time on the panel to your right, ensuring everything looks just right as you go!
Need to remove a screenshot? Just click the trash icon to delete it instantly. You can also expand or shrink the preview panel whenever you need more workspace. If you close the panel your capture is stored locally on the browser should you wish to resume.
When you're ready to save your SOP, simply hit ‘Finish,’ give it a title, and choose an Organization. That’s it! Your document is automatically saved in a special folder called SOP Generator and opens right away for easy access. You can edit, publish and move your SOP at any time.
Passwords:
- Create, access and view passwords within the extension - all passwords that are saved in IT Glue will be available
- Password creation: ability to create business personal and team based passwords in the extension
- Password autofill: usernames and passwords stored in IT Glue are automatically populated in login fields
- Password auto-creation: When creating a new password (team-based or business personal password), users will be auto-promoted to add their passwords to IT Glue
Search:
- Quick search: access any item in IT Glue via the Search feature, not just passwords on any webpages by pressing "Q"
- Globally search for any passwords your account has permission to access
Security:
- The extension also supports Single Sign-On (SSO), should your organization have it enabled.
- At-rest and in-transit encryption of passwords keeps your data safe
- Sign in once and go: Share a sign-in session between the IT Glue web app and IT Glue Chrome extension for maximum time savings

- (2025-07-07) Nathan Morrison: Clunky and unreliable.
- (2025-04-01) nitvit610: SOP generator doesn't work. Doesn't record steps and doesn't let you complete the SOP (because it's not recorded anything).
- (2025-03-30) Neil Rodgers: Complete garbage. I installed it to try out the new SOP generator. You set it recording, carefully go through all the steps you wish to record, then go to click the 'Finish' button. But wait, the button is disabled. You can pause the recording, you can discard the recording, but you cannot save it. Well done lads.
- (2025-03-13) David Burns: Worked decently well up until a few weeks ago. Now its garbage. I sign in, then if I switch tabs then I have to re-log back in. I then go back to the original tab I had open when I first logged in and I have to re-sign back in. All in a span of a minute.
- (2025-01-11) Ryan C: There are so many things wrong with this extension. 1) The Quick-Seach hotkey should be a key combination, not just a single character. (It should be like Alt-Q or something like that) 2) When entering passwords on a website, it should prompt if you want to save that password into IT Glue. 3) The username field should be above the password, why is it 5 rows below the password field?! 4) When you go to create a password, it should assume you want to create a password for the site you're on, and auto-fill the URL and page Title as the Name. 5) I need to be able to create passwords and put them info folders. Why can't I create / see folders?! 6) When going to look for passwords, you can't see folders. 7) You should be able to edit the password directly from the extension, not need to "View in IT Glue" - what a waste of time. 8) The new password generator (if using passphrases) is a joke, it generates a big list of random words, with a separator, but doesn't add numbers or uppercase letters. There's probably no website in existence that will take an all lowercase password with no numbers. 9) There should be a "Stay logged in for n days" option, and each time you visit the IT Glue site, the timer should reset. Every time I go to use this, I don't realize it's not logged in - again, more wasted time. 10) There's no way to create TOTP within the extension - again, have to waste time going to the actual IT Glue page. 11) The extension should save state, or stay floating on top when you click away so you can copy and paste things like URL, etc. Please re-develop this extension, this is horrible.
- (2024-12-05) Mr. E: This is getting worse over time—it’s becoming less and less functional. It fails to detect when you’re logged in, doesn’t recognize website URLs, and can’t autofill OTP information. The FREE Apple Password Manager is vastly superior by comparison!
- (2024-11-20) Grant Jones: Used to work well. As of a few weeks ago it no longer works.
- (2024-11-20) Brendan Hope: This used to be a really solid extension. Over the last year or so it has become more and more problematic and as of last week no longer auto populates passwords. There is no communication from ITG regarding its status and it seems largely abandoned. Do not rely on this extension.
- (2024-11-13) Taylor Gates: Honestly I believe this extension could use a re-write. Lots of weird behavior. Failing to autofill, autofill icon floating off the password box, no OTP autofill, extension doesn't save state when clicked off of it. No shared session between this extension and the full site, etc.
- (2024-11-13) Adam Orenczak: This year 2024 the extension has been very problematic. Sort of a normal thing when Kaseya buys a product.
- (2024-11-07) Madinah: Please improve this extension, many instances of bugs, failing to autofill correctly, breaks frequently not ideal end user experience and is required by org.
- (2024-10-23) Cory Vieth: Barely worked good before and recently the autofill drop down doesn't let you scroll down to see more passwords and the Create Password is hovering over top of the password list and isn't clickable.
- (2024-09-25) Abraham Bouzaglou: hot garbage, they still dont support OTP autofill, and extension tends to break itself quite often.
- (2024-09-18) Tully Jagoe: Please for the love of god revert the recent change that opens the page when you click on the entry, this extension is now entirely useless.
- (2024-09-17) Bryce Becker: I don't want the extension to open the god damn URL, I just want to view the password details, for the love of everything holy, please make this work like it used to.
- (2024-09-16) Dustin Travis: This extension is super inconsistent. Some days I go to login and it says "Subdomain not found" (today's that day, lucky me!) yet other days it works fine with the same subdomain value being submitted. I am not changing anything. Simply trying at different times during the day or week gives me different results. PLEASE FIX THIS. edit: now it puts little grey shadow boxes around text spans on websites...

- (2024-09-04) John Garnett (okctech): I don't think I need to repeat the list of obvious issues. The ITG platform is fantastic- the extension is embarrassing. Hasn't been fixed in +5 years.
- (2024-08-30) Stroudy IT: This extension should save loads of time making logins more efficient, unfortunately it doesn't work properly. It was ok to begin with, then it started saying I'm not logged in to IT Glue, even when I have a tab open and logged in, and it's asking me to sign in to the extension as well. Even when it recognises I'm logged in and I can search for passwords, clicking on the password just opens the URL for that password in a new tab rather than showing the details like password or OTP in the extension itself. I could forgive the first issue, but now this is completely useless, it's easier to find the OTP from the IT Glue tab I have open.
- (2024-08-27) Angela Faretta: SSO doesn't work. Even if im signed in all day. Click the extension and it asks for creds. Click SSO and it obviously authenticates and I try refreshing the page and nothing. Sometimes it doesn't even autofill my name or anything. Have to just nav to ITGlue to just look the pwd up manually.
- (2024-08-27) Mark Rudloff: Yes, I have the same issues. Running the latest version of IT Glue Extension and Edge (Version 128.0.2739.42 (Official build) (64-bit). Breaks websites, alignments are off and places very odd spacing on some sites to the point of not being usable. Disable the Extension and the Browser works fine.
- (2024-08-26) Kristoffer Andersson: Fills out fields that aren't the slightest relevant, search doesn't work most of the time. It's more often easier to just navigate to the website rather than trying to figure out the extension. Auto-fill off is a must. Websites sometimes break too, disabling the extension solves it.
- (2024-08-23) Jamie Tees: This extension now breaks some websites and adds unnecessary space. if you have this extension and experincing weird web glitches, disable it. Come on Kaseya you can do way better than this !
- (2024-08-15) Brad Bird: never signs in to the extension although you're already signed into the website. Not only that but it doesnt recognise websites even when signed and dont get me started on OTP. Get me back to solarwinds
- (2024-08-12) David Izquierdo: It breaks browser dark mode when viewing code snippits. or some link backgrounds. It will display the background as white and keep the text as white too. It's css editing needs to be fixed. Very Frustrating.
- (2023-12-13) Sean Broccoli: I am now able to log in however this is extremely frustrating to use give the app\extension time out so quickly and require you to sign in again. It is incredibly cumbersome to have to do this multiple times per day given we are a MSP who have to access several hundreds of clients and have to use the MFA code every damn time!
- (2023-09-12) Joel Watson: When in a remote session in a non-ITGlue tab (Chrome), certain keys bring up the ITGlue search box. Also, it is breaking sites that use FontAwesome for icons. Also, it doesn't remember what you searched for last. Each time to want to view something, you have to search. If you click outside of the extension and then back in, you have to search again.

- (2023-06-15) Justin Frieze: Love what it does, HATE how it works. My BIGGEST gripe (that I've raised on deaf ears via support), is that if you are in a remote session and hit "Q" it will bring up the search box. Yes, i get it, thats how hotkeys work. but it will bring it up *IN* the remote session. for example - I open CMD, and type "netdom query fsmo", it will type "netdom ", then pop up and type "uery fsmo" in the itg box. if you hit <ESC> it will clear out your entire command. this is SUPER annoying as i do migrations ALL the time. I asked support for the ability to turn off hotkeys on the extension (i dont use it even in the ITG portal), their response was and I quote " this purely showcases that it is to reduce the number of clicks, which is a measure of a good UX". While reducing the number of clicks is helpful, the ability for flexibility is the measure of a good UX. ITGlue's "suggest a feature" is a joke.

- (2022-10-05) Thomas A. Anderson: Love this extension, but I would like an option to keep it on top and open, instead of closing once you click off the window and bring you back to the default screen. I use this for usernames and password and I often click off the window, so reopening and searching again is a bit painful.

- (2022-04-27) Nathan Nicholls: This extension is a dumpster fire. Search is horrible, can't actually scroll if the info goes beyond the window and therefore can't access OTP for any site. It only somewhat reliably works on a single site I use a lot so I keep it for now (and with that I have to enter the user name for the search to actually bring up the right info). But this extension is a testament to IT Glue in general, so caveat emptor.

- (2022-03-04) Michael Turay: Extension constantly signs-out! Feels like every **** time i need a credential, "ope! you need to sign-in first!" What's the friggin point of the extension when I could spend as much time finding the ITG tab in another window and copy+paste that way?! Pointless extension.
- (2022-02-11) Anton Marcelline: Would be helpful if the ITG Extension populated website 2FA/MFA fields with the One-Time Password codes from IT Glue.

- (2021-02-26) Kevin Carbonaro: It was working in the past, but recently having a lot of issues. The worst is that when it is enabled, most of the time, some websites (e.g. gmail.com) will load in half or part of the browser window. The other half/part is just white space. Confirmed it is this extension as when disabled, gmail would work fine without any issues. The other issue is when signing in. Most of the time it gets stuck at loading the search results and have to disable/enable the extension to reload it to get it working.

- (2020-10-13) James Wolfenstein: Sign in issues, search issues, saved credential watermark covers the show password button on most web pages, but most frustrating is that disabling auto fill...doesn't disable autofill. So you'll be working on a web page and save your changes only to find IT Glue decided some random field on the page matched saved info, auto filled, and now you've lost whatever information that was entered there. For a paid service that should be making these things easier, it's failing and I've uninstalled the extension from all my devices.

- (2019-09-03) Damien Chimes: Glitchy and frustrating to use. Forces itself over other buttons on website and no way to remove it temporarily doesn't auto fill properly, often overwrites fields on unrelated subpages because the domain matches. (had a wireless SSID renamed to my email address because i log into the WAP controller with it. )

- (2019-08-30) Chris Gibbs: Would be the best out there if it could identify telephone numbers, put a glue icon next to them with an option to add to an organisation with contact name. Efficiency would be on point.

- (2019-08-11) Taylor O'Brien: Weird overlay on check boxes. Lots of other stange browser behaviour i.e https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/tracking Looks to be applying styles to the browser. Also need to be able to disable for specific sites as ITG logo gets in the way of other controls.
