Pitch shift the audio in HTML5 videos on any webpage, e.g., YouTube

Pitch shifts audio from HTML5 Video sources on a page, without changing the playback rate (unless you want it to).
Potential use cases:
Fixing the voice of a too whiney youtuber.
A satanic version favourite movie clip.
Or a chipmunk remix of a legendary rap song.
Does NOT save any of your data to a remote server.
Does NOT load the pitch shifter on webpage until you enable it (won't needlessly slow your computer down).
Troubleshooting

If you get no audio from the video it may be that the video is an ad from a different site and the CORS policy prevents us from altering the sound. We're looking at ways of detecting this.

- Fixed bug no pitch-shifting bug on Chrome 56. Seems there was an API change/fix so thath AudioParam.setTargetAtTime(target, startTime, timeConstant) required startTime to use the currentTime from the Audio Context, not a relative time (we were using 0).

- I've been using this extension for a long time. One of the BEST pitch shifting extensions I've ever used. There's no audio glitches or anything other than the other pitch shifting extensions, it's all smooth sailing for this extension. It's been four years since you guys updated this legendary extension, and it's about to be forcefully removed by Google. Someone has to save it. FoxDogStudios, make it happen.

- I've been using this extension for years now, it's great. Updating the extension to work with modern Chrome is pretty easy, actually: - Download the source code, it can be found at the bottom of the page's description. - From the source code, open up manifest.json located in the src folder. - Change the "manifest-version" value from 2 to 3, and change "browser-action" to simply "action". Make sure to save manifest.json after changing these two things. - Go to chrome://extensions/ and load the unpacked extension from the src folder. Voila.

- One of, if not the greatest chrome extension I have ever used. Its a shame that google took it away from all of us once and for all. I hope with all my heart some one does something about it. If it does ever get fixed and someone is reading this from the future. This was and if once again avalible is the cleanest, best quality pitch shifter on the internet. - The extension worked perfectly, there was not a single time that it messed up, but it's being forcefully discontinued by Google due to "not following best practices". It's a shame, though. This was the best pitch-shift extension I've used.

- This app is so tried and true, and I've never seen a pitch shifting extension work as good as this one. The newer one's compression algorithm just doesn't work as well. This extension is so simple and clean. Please please open source the code so the community can keep this going if Chrome ever shuts this down for good.

- For me the best pitch knob for vids as it offers smooth mode rather than just changing pitch in steps. Wish it had a larger pitch range. BEWARE this will stop working if you also use the "Video volume booster by NNT" extension :(

- Sorry! I installed this addon for exactly one reason. Pitch shifting, so i don't have to retune my guitar for every song i wanna play along with YouTube ... So called "Semitones" were totally off Details: I have my guitar tuned to Standard D 440. And with literally no setting on the Semitone range of the plugin, i was able to match it to the guitar. Back to capturing and reliably pitch shift songs in my DAW again, i guess ...

- Seems like the shift is inconsistent. -1 "semitone" sometimes needs to be a -2 setting, sometimes not, sometimes -3. Each song seems to be different. Otherwise it's great.
