• (2024-03-08) Jason Fong: After testing using the net-internals chrome tools, the extension appears to indeed lower overall data usage. With a ~6 minute video (144p, static image video) using the extension showed 4338 KB used on average, while 7588 KB was used without the extension. Hopefully this helps to clear up anyone's doubts. It would be nice if the replacement splash screen were customizable, for example having just a black screen instead of having the text displayed. Great extension otherwise. Edit: The video is now replaced with the thumbnail which I think this a nice compromise. 5 stars!

• (2023-08-10) Flippa_da_Boss: on paper, its everything i wanted. in practice, the audio stalls in the beginning and ceases to play audio even though the video progress scroller is moving and the video not-paused. sometimes it doesnt stall when i dis/re-enable or when i refresh, though it is very irregular and inconsistent. it appears to work when the audio waits to play after the rest of youtube has been loaded in, but fails like this when the video attempts to play before the rest of the site is loaded in, hence a stalling-like behaviour. 5 stars if fixed.

• (2023-07-12) Igor Colic: I gave it one star so the dev has easier time finding the bug. The extension works very well, being open source it doens't deserve 1 star no matter what. Reason for 1 star is that it loops the same audio after my pc goes to sleep, to be preicise, last audio before the laptop went to sleep. The thumbnail and timeline are correct but the audio is always the same.

  Hello, first off I know this extension is made for youtube only, but I just want to share a problem with the extension. the problem is that well, say i have two music in a playlist, one of them is audio only say m1, one video say m2, playback is fine for both of them until m2 goes back to m1, the thumbnail is displaying the correct one (m1), but the audio is always playing m2.   I am using Brave browser (which is based on Google Chrome browser) on Windows 10. I am facing three separate problems: BUG#1: I expect that when the extension's icon is red, the video should be blocked, and when the icon is gray, the video should play. But this logic often breaks: The icon's color has no relation with the on/off state. Sometimes the workaround is to click the icon twice. BUG#2: If multiple tabs are open, this situation worsens: There is no correlation between the icon color and the on/off state. BUG#3: The text on the screen says that the video is blocked, and to unblock, the user should click the icon and refresh the page. This refreshing is not needed, as the extension refreshes the page on its own. Therefore the text should change.

  I use audio-only youtube so that I can stream a playlist in the background and still have my screen saver will turn on, saving both energy and bandwidth. This is no longer working, as of March 13. I've tried disabling, updating, re-enabling, turning my browser on and off, etc. etc. However, even though it appears that the extension is working, i.e., a video isn't playing, my screen saver still isn't turning on because it senses that there's something active happening. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed?
