Image from store Homestuck Notifier
Description from store Automatically tracks your spot as you read through Homestuck (or any other story on that site: Problem Sleuth, The Homestuck Epilogues, etc.) and brings you back to the last page you've read at the click of a button. No more needing to edit bookmarks manually, or struggling to remember your last page when you forgot to edit the bookmark. It will also pop-up a notification whenever there is a new update on Homestuck.com. If there are ever any additions to the epilogues, or if a brand new story gets posted, you'll know right away with this extension! On the Options page, you can: - turn notifications on or off - upload a custom notification icon - upload a custom sound clip to play when there are updates - turn the page count on or off (if enabled, the button in the toolbar will show how many pages you have left to read) You can find all the source code for this extension here: https://github.com/JMTyler/homestuck-notifier The simplified Sburb house icon was created by Chris Howlett: https://howlettstudios.com Homestuck itself and all related trademarks belong to Andrew Hussie & VIZ Media. The green house-like icon for this extension was inspired by the Homestuck Sburb icon, which belongs to Andrew Hussie & VIZ Media. This extension was previously called "MSPA Notifier" back when Homestuck could be found on MSPaintAdventures.com.

  • (2019-12-30) That One Snazzy Artist: Heya..this extension has served an amazing purpose, and it should continue to do so with homestuck^2. for some reason homestuck^2 (a direct continuation of the candy route (that frequently jumps into the meat timeline) of the..gonna butcher the spelling, epilogues.) isnt connected to the homestuck site directly, but it would still serve a great purpose if the notifyer worked with that to! (since it will be updated over tim just like homestuck and the epilogues.)
  • (2019-11-23) Rose Lalonde: Will it be updated so it'll work for Homestuck 2? This would be very useful.
  • (2019-11-22) Alex Mercer: I just downloaded it hoping for a patch for homestuck2.com
  • (2019-04-14) Isla Davies: i just downloaded this ready for the epilogues and even though it doesn't seem to work on homestuck.com i'm still keeping it. giving it 5 stars because i know it's worked in the past
  • (2017-03-16) c1rcuitry: it notified me of the new update that came out today, and i will keep it forever so i can be able to see any new updates (if there are any). this has been quite the adventure and our heroes are all grown up Edit: a while may have passed but I can't bring myself to get rid of the notifier from my chrome... too many memories haha
  • (2016-05-01) Cueball: Incredibly useful.
  • (2016-04-14) Karie Kam: thanks for the ride buddy
  • (2016-04-14) Kirstin JW. Wilkinson: This app has been very helpful. I started reading Homestuck near the end of the Gigapause and I love this app. Thank you for this app.
  • (2016-04-13) Rey Nicholson: Homestuck is over. This app has served me well over the years and years I have used it. Setting a different notification sound between updates to surprise me when Hussie finally updated the comic was incredible, and I have used it more than probably any other app I own. Thank you, developers, for keeping me, and countless others, updated on our favourite comic. Thank you.
  • (2016-04-13) S R: hey - thank you for everything.
  • (2016-03-29) Betsy Hanes Perry: This seems to be broken as of the 3/29 update. It shows me as having -16 pages to read although I've finished the whole thing, and it doesn't have a sound file or icon to play when the update goes live.
  • (2015-09-06) I need backup upon backup keeping me notified in case the omegapause ends early. RSS feeds, upd8 ninja, and this plugin all work together to ensure I don't miss it by a second. It's pretty cool!
  • (2015-07-09) Haley Bennett: so mazin. jus so so mazin
  • (2015-01-05) Haley Gosnell: works very well! Even though Im not caught up, Its awesome! (I set the alarm for when it updates to the super mario bros. theme >3< )
  • (2015-01-03) Tyler Morgan: i like how every time I get on it notifies me that there is an update
  • (2014-12-29) Liam Loubris (Spodeian): I have found this very useful to keep track of what page I am on due to it's simplicity.
  • (2014-12-24) Norblorb: I don't understand the little gun guy thing but I overall think it's extremely useful
  • (2014-12-13) Tricia Morris: Very helpful, actually
  • (2014-12-10) Eric Vilas: Works perfectly, except for one thing... the "Mark as last read" doesn't really work. I checked the firefly format on page 777777 (the one he uses to test formats) and it marked that as my "last read" and I couldn't change it back.I had to reinstall it for it to work properly again. EDIT: there are 2 different places to set something as the last page. One is by right-clicking the page (works) and the other is by right-clicking the icon (doesn't work)
  • (2014-11-06) Hunter “Rook” Elliot: Works very well-- one question though, when the icon changes to the MSPA Reader with a gun-- what does that mean? The pumpkin is obvious.
  • (2014-11-05) Crystal Granger: OMG! So needed now that the gigapause is over and he is updating regularly again! Thank you so much! Works awesome! A must for all Homestuck fans who don't want to miss an update!
  • (2014-03-29) L0V3 B0T: This will really help me thanks!

  • (2013-10-20) Gallows: Won't be needing this for a while! #GIGAPAUSE2013
  • (2013-10-09) Mathspy Terabithian (Mathy): Thank you very much! Back to working like charm ♥
  • (2013-10-09) Alex DeBlauw: Very useful. It is excellent and the only tool of its kind that I've seen. Must have for any Homestuck.
  • (2013-10-02) Laura McClaugherty: Works great! Saves me the trouble of having to refresh constantly.
  • (2013-09-28) Blake Magie: I love it but it's stopped working

  • (2020-10-09, v:2.0.1) Chaffinch: Homestuck 2
Does this work on Homestuck 2 also?
  • (2019-11-11, v:2.0.0) Sarah Ahner: Homestuck^2
If you're still in the Homestuck fandom, you could probably create an upd8 notifier for Homestuck^2. The fact that this notifier is on chrome is really helpful for people who bring chromebooks to school btw.
  • (2019-10-27, v:2.0.0) Nadia Pflug: Suggestion
Now that Homestuck^2 is out, you should add support for it, if possible!
  • (2018-04-04, v:1.4.2) rufioh: idea
even though homestuck is done now, it should be worth noting that it is now hosted on homestuck.com.
  • (2016-11-10, v:1.4.2) S R: 1 wont go away
I know the comic has ended, but I want to keep the app in case extra epilogues or content is released on the site. However, the green number has a '1' that won't go away ever since the credits page was added. Is there anything I can do?
  • (2016-04-08, v:1.4.2) Amanda Johnston: 0 new pages
When I open the first new page by clicking on the icon and then read all the updates, the little green number ticks down one by one until it reaches 0 (I'm caught up), but then it doesn't disappear. I can fix it by going to the options and having it check for new updates again.
  • (2016-03-29, v:1.4.1) -37
So Homestuck just updated and the notifier is sending me to the right page, but it is not giving me notifications and tells me I have -37 pages to read.
  • (2016-03-29, v:1.4.1) dundee998: lil green icon
okay this may sound really dumb but last time i had this installed, the lil icon in the corner turned red when i was all caught up, and green when there was new stuff to read. now that icon is green all the time, and im wigging out cause my heartrate jumps a little when i see that green, even though there is no upd8. is there any way to make it red again?
  • (2016-02-21, v:1.4.0) S R: clicking the icon leads to not found
clicking the icon on my browser no longer takes me to the last read page and instead takes me to: "Not Found The requested URL /phpBB3/viewtopic.php was not found on this server."
  • (2015-04-19, v:1.3.0) Maxie Wong: It won't recognize the latest read page
So I can't get it to recongize the last page I read. I'm caught up and I tried going to the last page and used the check now button and it said I had 40+ pages to read, so then I tried right clicking and pushing mark as last read page. Tried the Check now button again but it still said I have 40+ pages to read. I uninstalled and reinstalled and tried the same thing and that didn't work either.
  • (2014-12-01, v:1.2.1) Lucas Exempli Gratia Smith: Strange Icon
For some reason, rather than the usual icon, the extension showed a shadowy figure standing behind problem sleuth(maybe? I'm not sure). When I clicked on it the icon reverted to normal and it took me to the newest page. There was no update. Please explain.
  • (2014-10-20, v:1.2.0) Ryan: Update sound not working
I set a one-second update sound (the opening a chest sound from Alterniabound) and it doesn't play when updates come.
