Ever written a large post or comment on a website, click submit, only to see your comment get lost in the internet wilderness? Or your tab/window closed somehow before you could submit?
Or maybe you just like to keep track of all the posts you made on different websites.
Comment Save (CS) helps you keep track of what you have been writing as you type. Icon beside the address bar brings up a window showing you the last post you wrote alongwith a link to the page. Link in the window allows you to view your post history.
You can also filter websites where you don't want any of your posts to be tracked (or you can have a white list to only record on specific websites).
Works on sites like:
- YouTube
- Facebook/Twitter/Google+
- Gawker blogs (Gawker/Gizmodo/Jezebel/Lifehacker/etc.)
- Engadget/Techcrunch/SlashGear/etc. (Sites which use Disqus/Livefyre)
- Wordpress/Tumblr
- Forums of all kinds
- Digg/Reddit
- CNN/New York Times/The Guardian/other news websites
- And lots more!
FEATURES:

* Records your post as you type so you can recover it if you lose it.
* Keeps a history of all your posts along with a link to the page and the time.
* Allows you to add filters so you can disable/enable tracking on certain websites.
* Simple checkbox in the popup window enables/disable tracking globally.
* User can set timed-deletion of comments. (Delete comments older than specific minutes, days, hours or months)
NOTES:

* Refresh any open pages after installation or the extension won't work.
* CS saves all your data locally to your machine. It does NOT save any data online nor does it send any of your data anywhere else. So all your posts are only accessible by you. And it doesn't access your browsing history (as Chrome says it is allowed to).
* Does not save your username/passwords. It only works on multi-line textboxes.
* Saves your email too (for ex. Gmail). If you don't want it to save your email add a filter for that website (mail.google.com and gmail.com)
* Won't work on this page because Google doesn't allow extensions to work here.

None of the important comments I have made have been captured by this program, even though I selected the text, and successfully copied the selected text to the clipboard, and demonstrated by my ability to paste the text into NotePad AFTER this program said "No comments saved!" *I'll reevaluate my one-star response if I learn I did something wrong that I should have understood, but for now, I cannot give a good rating to a program that does not do anything useful. *I upgraded my one-star rating to three stars when I read the Feb 28, 2011 review that said this feature quit working with the February 2011 Facebook update.
- (2015-01-12) Dennis Bareis: I like how you can see all the comments. Deletion is very cryptic, you are unsure what will happen, no other app so cryptic! It doesn't sync state with other computers. No update for a while, will look for one being supported. Not sure yet about how passwords handled, hopefully not captured.

- (2013-04-15) Tyga Hero: Not working. Probably outdated as this is 2013. Wish there was a better option as I wasted an hour posting a long response to a thread that provided a lot of insight through my experience. I'm not going to spend the time to rewrite it. Neither this nor Lazaurus (sp?) saved my text. It seems like a pretty easy program that should be a standard feature on Windows.

Однако ОТМОДЕРИРОВАННЫЕ комментарии не сохраняются. Версия: ВСЕГДА при просмотре сохраненых комментов происходит проверка -существует ли реальная ссылка, при отсутствии таковой коммент удаляется из сохраненных.Т.е. возможно в момент отправки они были где-то и сохранены, но если в интернете администратор сайта сотрет ваши высказывания, не будет реальной ссылки -то и у вас на компьютере следов высказывания не останется. Я, как автор слов, хочу сохранять свои слова на своем компьютере ВНЕ ЗАВИСИМОСТИ от модерации. Это расширение бесполезно.

- (2012-03-27) VC Bowlin: As a dedicated "Citizen News analyst" this tool is invaluable. It has worked on 95% of the sites I comment or write for. If you comment on stories from portals like Yahoo this is the app for you. It's so much easier to reply to comments because of Yahoos inability to "keep its servers functioning". This will take you to a working link 99% of the time. I can't suggest this App enough, this is a must have app if you are an avid commentator. It would be great ifit took you directly to your comment but I understand why it doesn't I think? Thank you Shayen.
