This extension auto-detects RSS feeds on the page you are reading and upon finding one will display an RSS icon in the Omnibox, allowing you to click on it to preview the feed content and subscribe.

The extension comes with 2 feed readers predefined (Bloglines and My Yahoo) but also allows you to add any web-based feed reader of your choice to the list.

What's new in version 2.2.2?
+ Doesn't run in the background all the time, only when in use.
+ Updated to not use a soon-to-be-deprecated API.

+ Removed Google Reader and iGoogle from the list of default feed readers.

None of the menu options let you obtain the URL of the page's RSS Feed. In order to enable it you need to the following: Click on the icon > “This can read and change site data” > “when you click the extension” Now to get the URL to the feed, just right-click on the provided hyperlink and select “Copy Link Address”. Now I can paste it into my Windows-based Feed Aggregator (QuiteRSS).
Falc 2024-01-20: Doesn't work fine. For many websites, the extention icon is colored/active, but no feed displayed when clicking on it

Also, this causes a bug, I have a feed with images like <img src="//example.com/img.jpeg"> and they don't load, because the url scheme is missing and the extension page is chrome-extension://....

This hasn't been true for years -- Google's Chrome developers chose to break it, and the Google extension team is still pretending it works. Nov 2018: Had been great for years but now the icon is often orange even on pages with no feeds. That kills most of the value of the extension.

Dennis Bareis 2020-09-18: Its definitely not perfect and doesn't have feedly or Inoreader predefined but its also simple to add just add it yourself with the URL "http://cloud.feedly.com/#subscription%2Ffeed%2F%s" or "“https://www.inoreader.com/feed/%s". Bloglines doesn't seem to exist any more. This extension doesn't appear to be supported any more but it works well enough.
