This extension is needed to install PlayMemories Camera Apps applications.
It helps you install applications onto your Sony camera at PlayMemories Camera Apps web site by relaying communications between your camera and Google Chrome.

Went on my Mac. Did some stuff and got the installer to work. Then...... WAIT IT JUST SAID THAT THE APP WAS DOWNLOADED BUT WHERE DA APP (tho at least my camera is professional)
So true, and the same experience i've had with everything sony other than my camera itself (which I love).
Absolutely terrible software. Frustrating to use, terrible usability. certainly does not do what it is supposed to do. utterly frustrating .. SONY, for heavens sake, get your act together when it comes to software .. you should be very embarrassed by this .. you make great hardware (cameras) but your supporting software and usability is absolutely awful .. the worst n my extensive experience of using software for many years.

Iam developer and I cant understand why SONY creates these tools that don't work or are frustrating to use. People like me would love to make tools to support community, but SONY dont want to provide public camera API etc.
This software is the worst piece of garbage I've ever tried to use. Doesn't work through the camera, and doesn't work on here either. Trying to install the multiple exposure app, an app like many of these that should be included with the camera to begin with! But at least if you're going to rob me more Sony, at least make it work!

Even after trying to reinstall the software multiple times, it wont let me buy or install an app on the mlaymemoriesapp website. Trying to install an app on the camera itself also won't work as it just gets stuck there at payment information as well. Completely dysfunctional software.

Werkt niet.. netwerkfout komt er steeds uit.. camera software zit op laatste versie. Waardeloos produkt.
Finger weg!!! Absolut Bedienerunfreundlich, werde den versuchten Kauf abbrechen. Dann eben nicht. Habe keine Lust mir meine Zeit durch solch dilettantischen Anwendungen rauben zu lassen. Daumen runter aber 5 fach.
Ich wollte nur die App Mehrfachbelichtung kaufen , installieren und Fotos machen. Das Ergebnis.... 5x versucht die App auf die Kamera zu laden... Fehlanzeige... Nur eine Anzeige: "SERVERFEHLER BITTE SEITE NACH EINER WEILE NEU STARTEN (#9201 ) dafür aber auch 5x 4.99 € bezahlt. Kontaktaufnahme nach Sony ohne Ergebnis.

A tough app to navigate. Feels incredibly archaic in both form and function. Kills me that if I reset my camera, I will have to re-install everything again as I did here. Just want to do timelapse work without a headache, it should be built in to the camera rather than a $10 add-on.

SONO DUE ORE CHE CERCO DI SCARICARE LE FOTO SU PC DALLA MIA ALPHA7...MA NIENTE!! Non funziona niente!!!!!!!!!...e nn c'è estensione o programma che tenga... Mi verrebbe voglia di spaccare tutto! Vergogna è dire poco... direi schifo!
Absolut unbrauchbar, Zahlvorgänge waren erst nach der Opferung meines Erstgeborenen und einem Aderlass möglich. Die Apps die ich drauf habe funktionieren auf der Kamera gut, aber die Installation und der Weg dort hin sind lang, hässlich, grauenvoll und schmerzhaft. Bei wem es noch nicht zu spät ist, dem kann ich nur die Empfehlung geben sofort abzubrechen und es erst garnicht zu versuchen, weil sonst endet euer Tag in Polizeilichem Gewahrsam, wegen Körperverletzung. Bei Benutzung dieses Tools nicht komplett durchzudrehen und Amok zu laufen ist eine Herausforderung.
Wie nicht anders zu erwarten, der letzte Schrott. Unverschämt, dass man bei der Bewertung dieser App noch genötigt wird, einen Stern abzugeben! Sony ist nicht in der Lage für die Sony-Kamera DSC-HX60V alternative Download-Möglichkeiten anzubieten, oder wird ganz einfach, was eher anzunehmen ist, von der US-Krake Google verpflichtet, ihre Apps ausschließlich über die Chrome anzubieten. Haben diesen verfluchten Schnüffel-Browser widerwillig, weil gezwungenermaßen installiert. Ebenso den PlayMemories Camera Apps Downloader. Weil das Update einer vor Jahren gekauften App nur über vorheriges Deinstallieren möglich ist, bin ich Schritt für Schritt der Online-Hilfe gefolgt, und jetzt gucke ich dumm aus der Google-Wäsche!!! Nach aufrufen der als bezahlt gekennzeichneten Anwendung werde ich seit Stunden immer und immer wieder aufgefordert, Chrome und PlayMemories zu installieren. Egal, was ich auch tue, das Resultat ist immer das Gleiche!! Sitzen in der Zentrale von Google in Mountain View inzwischen nur noch Programmierer mit dem IQ ihres Präsidenten!?!?
Utterly useless! Every time I try and log in, it forgets my password. When I follow the instructions to reset my password, it asks my date of birth.... THEN TELLS ME IT'S WRONG! Just go round and round in endless circles. It would be easier to break into a bank, than get this to work.

No Funciona. Compré una Alfa 600. Esta app no conecta con la cámara. El sitio de Sony es horrible. El soft de la cámara es horrible. La conexión con celular es horrible. Lamentable la gente de Sony. Contraten algún programador que sepa algo.

This is the most complicated way to update software on a camera. Took 3 hours for something the camera should be able to do itself. Also: Support for Internet Explorer in 2020 (didn't work anyway), but not for Edge or Firefox?

Κακή εφαρμογή, αδικεί κατάφορα την πολύ καλή δουλειά που κάνουν στις μηχανές τους. Αγόρασα μηχανή γιατί υποτίθεται υποστηρίζει λειτουργία time lapse αλλά δυστυχώς διαπίστωσα οτι στη χώρα μας αυτή η λειτουργία δεν είναι διαθέσιμη. Κρίμα πραγματικά.
Wie umständlich kann man das nur gestalten? Sony Apps bringen mich noch zur Weisslut, mieserabel durch und durch. Schade für die gute Hardware.

I completely agree that the website kinda sucks. but after playing around for ten minutes i figured it out. I have the A7ii, and install this extension while the camera is connected to your computer and is ON. After it is installed and the camera is on, (make sure you leave the extension installed on chrome) go back to the website PlayMemories and it should detect your camera and should be easy from there.
