- (2024-12-27) Paul: Tunnelbear used to be decent a long time ago but now it's completely useless and a scam. And I'm a subscriber, I'm not using the free version with limited data here. Tunnelbear hardly ever successfully connects to a tunnel for more than a minute at a time. When it does manage to do its job, it'll tell me I'm connected to the Philippines or whatever and then I do a "where am I" and the site identifies my exact real address which doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. Even when I do get a tunnel, my internet speed becomes even slower than when I use Tor, if I can even load a website at all. I am actively ashamed of having paid for this. I would not make the confession that I paid for Tunnelbear to anyone I know personally. I'm writing off the last year of my subscription and just deleting my account and getting a real VPN. Don't make the same mistake I did.
