Egress Switch for Google Chrome allows you to set different levels of security classification when sending an email.
[IMPORTANT: Egress Switch Gateway Required]
Egress Switch is the market leading email encryption product from Egress Software Technologies.
Switch allows the email sender to set the appropriate level of security to a message via a simple classification drop down. Real-time auditing and control then ensures that only the authorised recipient can access this confidential information and protects the sender from accidental loss and recipients mishandling the information.
Benefits:
■ Protect and control sensitive information sent to external recipients
■ Real-time revocation
■ Full audit trail
■ Free service for recipients to use
■ Access to data on the move
Functionality:
■ To access the secure message features of Switch just compose a new message as you would normally inside Google Apps, you will notice an additional option in the compose menu to select the security level which should be applied to your message. Once you are happy with the security level, simply send your message as normal.
■ Access your sent items in the Package Library via the Switch extension. From here you can control and if necessary revoke access to specific emails.
■ Supports all versions of the Google Mail message compose interface.
■ The Switch extension for Google Chrome must be used in conjunction with a Egress Switch Gateway Server - this extension cannot secure messages on its own.

- (2014-05-13) Nigel Watts: I had been using the Outlook version of Switch for some time and loved it. My business recently moved to Google Apps so I needed to find a way to integrate with Google Chrome. I did get a little confused at first as you need to use this with a Switch Server which we got installed with the help of Egress. Nice and simple way of encrypting email.
- (2013-11-03) Paul Peters: I installed this and it took over my browser and i have had all sorts of problems, I do not recommend this software. Also I have a problem trusting Egress as they are very involved with the UK Government, I think they collaborate with them and probably share my keys with them so I am stopping using them completely.
