Twitter Media Assist
This extension enhances your Twitter media experience. The extension converts and saves MP4 video to GIF animated picture, and the extension supports easy downloading of Twitter
media file.

It provides a download link right there on each post. As of August 2023, the support for the extension has been fantastic! Several times has X/Twitter made changes to their website and the developer(s) for this extension have provided updates to fix issues that arise from those website changes.
