A simple Stop button
A simple Stop button, for those who want one to the right of the Address Bar. To save RAM, the extension uses an event page rather than a persistent background page. Hopefully it won't lag during heavy disk access. For a Reload button, see: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/reload/fcofhoajikoooeongdbjbgnjpmgehgja *** Changelog 0.5: Updated icons to match Chrome's new Material theme. 0.4: Replaced scary <all_urls> permission with "activeTab". Consequently, minimum Chrome version bumped to 26. 0.3: Removed "tabs" permission. Turns out it isn't needed to call chrome.tabs.executeScript.
- (2016-11-24) JeffMangumMagnum: A simple extension to do a simple thing and stop pages from continuing to load. How is this so rare? Its the perfect way to stop all those add-blocker blockers begging for a whitelist.
- (2014-09-11) Heather: Works as described, which is a separate Stop button that Chrome lacks, to keep a page from loading.
- (2013-08-14) .: I wanted this to work like the stop button in Firefox, so that when I am on a page with animated gifs, clicking this should stop them moving. But it doesn't do anything. Most disappointing.

Hi. I use dark mode and it's almost impossible to see your extension button. I would like to suggest that you allow users to choose from a few different icons, at least one of which will be more compatible with dark mode. The ability to move the extension to the left of the address bar would also be great but perhaps that's a Chrome / Brave thing. Firefox allows it.
