You can also configure a blacklisted domain list with patterns in the settings under "Excluded" domains. ➡️ Sort highlights manually: Highlights should appear in the same order as on the page. If not, use the drag & drop or arrows in your annotation sidebar to rearrange them as needed. ➡️ Customizable Sidebar: Change the sidebar width by dragging its edge, and align it on the left or right side of the page for a personalized experience. ➡️ Switch to Advanced Highlighter Mode in settings to organize highlights with headings, paragraphs, and more in the sidebar. ➡️ Multiple Colors: Choose from predefined standard and pastel shades or click the plus icon to add your own custom color. ➡️ Note Taking: Use standard keyboard shortcuts like CMD + B for bold, CMD + U for underline, etc., in the note-taking editor for efficient formatting. ➡️ Reader Mode: Click “Open in Reader” to view any article in a clean, distraction-free layout with customizable fonts, colors, and spacing. A copy of the article is saved so you can read and highlight it with full focus — even if the original changes or disappears. ➡️ Focus highlights on website: Click on a highlight in the sidebar, and the page will scroll directly to the highlighted section for quick access. ➡️ Color Mode: Switch between dark and light mode by clicking the sun/moon icon in the sidebar. ➡️ Your data is always private unless you choose to share it. ➡️ You may be exposed to affiliate links on sites you visit while using this extension, and you may be encouraged to click on them, but you are never required to do so. 🔐 YOUR PRIVACY MATTERS We believe your data belongs to you. ✔️ Your highlights, notes, and bookmarks are private by default ✔️ Nothing is ever sold or used to profile you ✔️ Secure sync and export, only accessible with your account We never use your data for advertising, lending, or unrelated purposes. 📜 TERMS OF SERVICE 📜 By installing the extension or signing up with an account, you agree to Web Highlights Terms of Service and Privacy Policy which you can find here: https://web-highlights.com/legal/terms-of-service ----- ❤️ This is a one-person project I’m building with love and late nights. • (2025-08-23) This extension is spamming users. I kept getting this huge "Your Purchase Can Make a Difference" popup that asks for donations to some charities that I do not know when I'm browsing online shopping websites. At first I thought it was a non-profit organization that convinced these companies to add this popup. Today I finally had it enough, so I went into developer tools to remove this popup. To my surprise, I discovered that the popup's html element has an attribute: `data-extension-name="Web Highlights: PDF & Web Highlighter + Notes & Annotations"`. So...It's a spam from this web highlighting extension..? I'd rather you just pop up a new web page like Ad Blocker than adding a huge pop-up that hides half of the webpage to force people to donate. Spamming is just wrong and you are violating users' consents. Update: confirmed the annoying popup is from this extension, because when I removed this extension, the popup finally disappeared.

• (2025-08-17) I use this to highlight important information for the cases I read for law school, and I love how reliable it is. The features of the highlighter having different colors and the highlights syncing even if I already left the website are gamechangers! Thank you for this :))
• (2025-08-17) This extension has saved me a TON of time. Usually I would copy and paste or screen important info to my notes but sometimes it's not as useful since it's away from the original context. Then, I would end up copying over even more info from the webpage which basically made my notes 1:1 copies of the webpage (my ADHD was not a fan of this). But, now I can just revisit the website and get straight to the important parts. My notes are a lot cleaner because of it!

• (2025-08-13) amazing tool. just wao!
• (2025-08-13) I think it's one of the best in the sense of combining interface design, user account and sync options. Nonetheless, I have encountered some problems. I am needing it mainly for Wikipedia. While trying to mark some pages, in most cases it's fine, but in some cases it wouldn't show the coloured background. You can see the marked page and element in the account, but when reloading the Wikipedia page the background appears just for in a split of a second and then disappears (sometimes not even that). If you try to mark it again, it would duplicate the same instance in the account, as many times as you try (so you have the same marked elements duplícate in your account), but the result on the WP page is the same. In these paging, when opening the side bar, it reloads again and again as if it was stuck in a loop (and I think you can't see a list of the tagged elements, just the recently opened). Maybe it's due to the fact I have another highlighter installed (simpler one, with lesser functionality and no sync account, but it always works). It's a shame, real nice app, thanks for your work!
