  • (2021-05-31) Matthew Connor: I can't speak for any other shortcuts but for the one I wanted to disable, Ctrl+Shift+C that opens the console, this works perfectly. *** DON'T FORGET*** - The "Options" menu is greyed out by the very nature of how this extension works. IT'S NOT A BUG! To configure which shortcuts you want to disable: 1) Copy and paste chrome://extensions/shortcuts into the address bar and hit enter 2) Scroll down to the "Disable keyboard shortcuts" extension and click the Edit icon (pencil) 3) Type the shortcut key combination you want to disable
  • (2021-05-18) Luciano A Y B: Unfortunately, I couldn't disable a shortcut that uses CTRL + ALT... The shortcut CTRL + ALT + C; used for copying formatting in google docs, constantly gives this symbol "₢" that is awful
  • (2021-04-22) wasd wasd: thanks a lot works perfect. Now my friends can do ctrl+shift+q+q(signs u out)
  • (2021-04-13) F P LAW: How to deploy it by group policy. It seems the keys cannot disable even the extension has been deployed by policy
  • (2021-04-08) Cole Furman: F1 still opens the google help tab. Useless extension.
  • (2021-03-25) Richard Cosgrove: WONDERFUL! One of those "Should be a feature in Chrome already" extensions. I switch between using Chrome in Mac OS and Chrome in Windows. This extension has stopped me randomly shuffling between open tabs, creating new browser windows, or back a page whenever I accidentally hit the wrong keys or a Mac combo.
  • (2021-03-25) Andrew Stanton: The Options menu item is greyed out. I'm using the latest chrome. I have no problems with any other extensions and have not denied any permission to this extension.
  • (2021-03-11) Constantine Ketskalo: I'd like to have it and use it, but it simply doesn't work. Options is inactive. All I can do is visit chrome web store page of this extention, disable it and allow in inkognito mode... Great! Probably it's just versions incompatibility, I don't know, but for now it doesn't work.
  • (2021-02-16) VL: It's a great ext! (In case it actually works :) Yet another extension to solve simple stupid problem in chrome... already have dozens of them installed, but there is no other way. However, need more slots. In my case ctrl+<number> combinations took almost all fields.
  • (2021-02-15) Keyzッ: doesnt work
  • (2021-02-09) Kai Noack: Please link the plugin "Options" to chrome://extensions/shortcuts - I guess most users don't read the line in the instruction. Thanks.
  • (2021-02-03) Santhosh Dalave: Can i override the the short cut ? Rather than just disabling the shortcut can we override the shortcut to perform the other functions
  • (2021-01-22) Nicholas Suciu: Not sure how to use it... How can I disable a shortcut?
  • (2021-01-20) Nick Bailey: Exactly what I was looking for to get rid of the stupid back and forward shortcut keys (which screw you over when typing an email in Gmail for example)
  • (2021-01-15) Lee Fowler: Does not allow disabling the F1 (Chrome Help) Keyboard Shortcut.
  • (2021-01-14) Joshua Scott: Great! This is exactly what I've been looking for! the only issue is I need to be able to disable all shortcuts (all letter and number keys) and there aren't enough slots for me to able to do so.
  • (2021-01-08) Bruce Walton: Wow this is great! Thank you thank you thank you. Now in emacs when my fingers type control-N nothing happens... which is one thousand percent better than having six new browser windows appear and needing to kill them all manually and train to reach for arrow keys. Next step, provide a passthrough option so the control-N can be seen by the emacs? Is it easy? THANKS AGAIN
  • (2021-01-07) Glenn Parker: Perfect! I needed to disable CMD-D (new bookmark) because I hit it when I'm aiming for CMD-F (and bookmark collections are just so 1990s). I also disabled CMD-M (minimize) because it's so annoying when my window just vanishes.
  • (2021-01-06) Dakota Maness: Only just started using this so this is a short term review, but what issue this extension solves is my difficulty with "CTRL+R". While navigating pages, I often check the links before posting them, so I use "CTRL+T" to open a new tab, before pasting the link. That being said, as the T and R are just one letter off, once every couple of weeks I'll reload my current page instead of opening a new tab. This can mean a loss of a few seconds to dozens of minutes of work. This saved me a lot of frustration, and I appreciate that it doesn't require any permissions. Thanks Developer!
  • (2021-01-04) Raheeq Mobin: Didn't work
  • (2020-12-22) Anthony Maffei: This is exactly what I needed to stop interrupting my workflow! I turned RoamResearch.com into a web app using Chrome which was great, but since it looks like an app now I kept trying to save my work by pressing Cmd + S, just out of habit. I kept being pulled out of what I was by doing in order to exit out of Chrome's Save popup box, but this extension lets me disable that interruption. Thanks!
  • (2020-12-06) Sean Tong: Does exactly what it says: blocks alt+* and ctrl+* shortcuts. Except I'm trying to find a way to disable that annoying "f1" key for help. Would it be possible for you to include that in the next update? Thanks!
  • (2020-12-06) גלעד אוחנה: installed the plugin using GPO but I find no way to apply the configuration to the other users and manage them. Is there a way?
  • (2020-11-29) Floris: Does not support disabling of F keys
  • (2020-11-27) Kevin Day: Fantastic, quick and dirty fix for a 'feature' of Chrome that has caused me many hours of lost work (Ctrl+W and Ctrl+Shift+W). Thank you!
  • (2020-11-24) Minimik75: it doesn't work for any of the keys, and the website shown doesn't work either
  • (2020-11-03) Sakuya Izayoi: hey uh, i cant even open it for some stupid reason, any idea why? i really need to get rid of control w.
  • (2020-11-01) Heath Mitchell: I can't disable shortcuts on specific sites or shortcuts like F4
  • (2020-10-21) Yake Hunna: Great but... it doesn't do the one thing I need which is to let me block Left Arrow or Right Arrow. I use a media website that I can't use my mouse buttons on because simply clicking left or right changes the dang track. Help!
  • (2020-10-15) Boti Hajdu: works great, thanks a lot! finally I can use my good old shortkeys without closing the browser :) it would be even greater to be able to remap shortcuts, or at least turn off F1 and F12 (I have never ever pressed them intentionally...)
  • (2020-10-10) Nicolás Mendoza: Thanks, I installed this extension because I'm going to do a online test where I have a embebbed console in the browser. Can you explain what's the difference between "global" an "in chrome"? I would like for example that when I use "CTRL + W" doesn't execute the default chrome but I expect this will be capture for the webpage or embebbed console. It's will work? THanks!
  • (2020-10-08) JT874: Really useful, disabled the stupid 'close all windows' shortcut that Chrome enforces upon all users. Recommended.
  • (2020-10-03) Nathan Brabham: Works for most shortcuts, but can't seem to disable the F1 key bringing up the help menu.
  • (2020-10-02) Abigail Drobet: awesome i love it it works perfectly
  • (2020-09-26) Hansen W: Hmm, it does what it says, but not what I needed. I was looking for a way to disable some Youtube shortcuts. Unfortunately, all the other extensions I found so far are all or nothing. I saw the screenshot and the ability to choose what keys to disable and found this but it only accepts CTRL/ALT+key. Is there a way for you to adapt this extension to include single keypresses without modifiers and apply only to specific webistes?
  • (2020-08-12) Zippy V: Perfection
  • (2020-08-08) Splash: NICE!!!!!!!!!!!
  • (2020-08-05) Betty Chan: Needed this so badly! Super useful! Wish I can disable even more shortcuts! :)
  • (2020-07-23) Turbo Rooster: Actually works!! Does something which should have been implemented in chrome years ago.
  • (2020-07-09) Andrey Volodko: Great!!! This is so helpful! Thanks!
  • (2020-03-30) xx xx: działa i jest proste w obsłudze :) super
  • (2020-02-04) xsilas43: The only extension that actually works for this, thank you!
