Es findet irgendwann (schnell) z.B. ein YT Video was eigentlich geht aber er sieht einen Fehler darin. Dann darf das ganze von Vorne starten :( schade wäre sonst genial da Chrome bei jedem Umzug Alles favicons verliert.

• (2022-01-11) Len Kowalik: I could not get this to work, but I do not know why. I had a site bookmarked and open. I clicked on this extension and then chose Change Favicon, selected an image, and opened it. The icon on the tab changed, but not the one on the bookmarks bar. When I clicked on the bookmark In the bookmarks bar, the icon reverted to the previous one. I tried another favicon changer, and it was very straightforward, beginning with browse for an image. I would give this one star, but I suspect that I was doing something wrong. Having said that, I used an obvious navigation in the extension and nothing happened.

• (2021-01-31) Yannick le Restif: The UX is really very bad, but that kind of wouldn't matter if it worked... but for me it didn't. Even the "custom bookmark" (the one that redirects to the actual bookmark) didn't work. The bookmark icon is just not changed at all. The extension worked for a few minutes when I tried from the "bookmark favicon" of the options page... until I clicked the bookmark, which made the icon revert. PS. I'm happy to change my review if there is something I missed.

• (2020-09-15) Alexis McDonald: The quality of favicons are always so low, and pixelated. Do yourself a favor, and download the other favicon changer extension chrome has to offer (called "favicon changer"). I WILL say that my issue with that one is that for some reason, on one specific bookmark, clicking on its favicon makes the image/favicon disappear from the bookmark and tab- but then clicking again refreshes and restores it. It's a bit annoying, but at least your favicons look somewhat more crisp all the time, and one extra click is hardly as troublesome as constantly having pixelated icons.

• (2019-07-09) Donal Goggin: I got this to add a favicon to a bookmarklet but the option is greyed out and doesn't provide a reason why. None of these extensions I've tried seem to be able to do it, so I suspect it's an issue with chrome not allowing it, but at the very least an error or info message should have been shown.

• (2018-05-01) Chuck Hildebrandt: I used to use this for years and it worked great, but now it's terrible. It took me 19 hours to get favicons for 90% of my bookmarks, until it crapped out on me. I went to save the favicon database and that didn't. It said i needed at least version 2.00. I have version 2.21. It also kicked me off my VPN, which is a huge no-no. I have favicons now, but at some point Chrome will wipe them all out when i close it out and i will be back at square one. It sucks because, like I say, it worked great for years. And now it doesn't work well at all. And the thing has not been supported in four years. YMMV, buy caveat emptor on this.

To Developer: Only issue I had was the amount of time that lapses when I go to exit the tab from the settings (any w/ extension) page(s). I will try to change network error lapse time to 0 or a few seconds and see if that doesn't help it but I will update you either way. Update: Reset network error time lapse down to 1 second and still having same issue of long delay (I counted 10 seconds) on tab exit. Please advise when you can. Thanks!

• (2018-02-05) Daniel Saner: Works as advertised! Great to get some visual sense into your bookmarks toolbar. I use this with the Vivaldi browser, and it works fine. Needs to be used in quite a roundabout way: changing icons is only possible from the extension's settings page, it opens a pop-up to perform the change, which seems to not work and have to be closed manually, but ends up working, although showing the new icon in the main browser window requires re-opening it. But we all know that all of these problems are due to Chrome's ridiculously bad and inadequate extensions structure. The problems of this extension are all Google's faults, and my thanks are to the developer for finding and implementing the ugly hacks required to still make it work :)

  Thank you, Sonthakit Leelahanon! Your extension is important to me as I have tons of bookmarks and several times needed them to be restored, which works but does not cover the favicons. So I never actually set custom favicons and only restore favicons. Doing it manually folder by folder is too much of manual work, so I use More > Reset all non-custom favicons. I choose a 2 seconds time-out so it would not run too long. But some URLs fail because of too a low timeout value or because they are down right now. This time also the entire process broke, because my ad blocker blocked a page (see the error messages below). So I would like to execute an additional option in the More menu: Reset all bookmarks with empty favicon. After fixing the blocked link this would not restore everything again, but more or less resume the broken run. When it then ended normally, I would set up the timeout value to 10 seconds and run Reset all bookmarks with empty favicon again one or two days later to catch the timeout cases. I would do the same from time to time when I added bookmarks on another device and the new bookmarks get synchronized to this Chrome instance by Google, but without the favicons. "Serous internal error - Error on generating dataURL page at ... Fail - Unexpected URL on tab. Please contact extension developer. Time error at ... Fail - Popup window was closed. Terminate all residual jobs."
