"Skip Silence" is a browser extension that allows you to autmatically skip parts of a video that are silent.
It is highly inspired by CaryKH's automatic on-the-fly video editing tool (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ8orIurGxw).
The extension works with most websites that use a HTML5 video or audio element to play, this includes YouTube and Instagram.

This extension needs the following permissions:
- "activeTab" => Access the currently active tab to monitor the video or audio source's volume and speed up and slow down.
- "storage" => The extension saves the settings you set using the browser storage
We do not collect or save any usage or other data about the users of this extension.

- Almost perfect. When increase the silent part's speed, it makes impossible to understand the words. However it was what I've been looking for and there isn't any alternative. Thanks

- I did make a review years earlier and felt the need to revisit. The extension is fine. It does skip over some quieter video parts, but I do have peeves with it: - I have to enable the extension on every new tab. - Even with the mute silence check, there is still sped up audio, even over spoken parts. I paid for the dynamic threshold beta and I have feedback. - It struggles with skipping over background noises/music. - It still doesn't skip when it's below 5%. I still like this extension, but it needs revision, especially with the dynamic threshold.

- its well made but for youtube its really poor,doesnt work well becuse sometimes it doesnt do anything and brakes,skips mid music time (like 0.5 secs or a sec).

- No funciona, no reconoce archivo multimedia y en el que lo logra reconocer solo distorciona el sonido. It does not work, it does not recognize media file and in which it manages to recognize only distorts the sound.

- Its not as flawless as for example the option to cut silence in Google podcasts, but once you tune it properly it works. However Im not able to use fullscreen anymore on youtube.

- mp4 meeting recording playback works just fine without the extension but the palyback is completely silent with the extension enabled (it even requires browser reload after a "disable" to play the audio again). (I am on Chrome 103 on Win11)

- Thank you so much. However, I think there is a bug that voice and video is not synchronizing the option for it is not free(That is not good I think because it is a bug fix not a bonus). Also, being without shortcuts(current shortcuts are not good) are the big lackness.
