- (2024-07-18) John Chaney: Took me a while to narrow down that the problem was this extension, but it prevents Google Messages for Web from loading. Results in a blank white screen. Stops doing that when I disable this extension. I liked using this before but I can't continue doing so when it prevents me from using messages. EDIT 7/18/2024: looks like this is also the culprit for making it so you're not able to scroll down on any site using a Discourse forum.
- (2024-04-30) Colin Bellino: Yep, like a lot of people have pointed out: it's malware now. It started great, did a simple thing but a few weeks ago they updated it and it now opens ads/scam URLs at random when opening tabs...
- (2024-01-17) - Lo: I cannot change quality in player if I enable this plugin. And it tracks what you browse all the time and open links pointing to linksprf.com to collect your history.
- (2023-12-04) Anthony Headley: I thought this extension was working well until it started breaking other websites. For some reason it broke access to forums.unrealengine.com/ by placing this tag full screen on the page blocking all clicks: <img class="preloader-image" src="data:image/svg;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" alt="Epic Developer Community Forums"> If I either disable the extension or limit it to https://*.youtube.com/* that immediately fixes the issue. Seems it has a bug. I confirmed that with only this extension installed and site access set to all sites this always causes the issue.
- (2023-10-18) Максим: Расширение замечательное, но хотелось бы чтобы автоматически ставило 1080p Bitrate, вместо простого 1080p
- (2023-10-11) Ahmad Azab: I wanted to send a suggestion but couldn't find any email so i'll just write it here. can you add a way to set a different quality for just the current video (that's playing), then set it back to the previous setting. I usually change the quality to a higher one for a specific video (usually if that video has small text that I can't read on lower quality), then I forget to change the quality back and it consumes from my internet quota. Also, it's a bit annoying to set it back manually every time.
- (2023-09-15) Lukas Schabowskyj: It does not work for me, it does not automatically adjust the video quality to hd oder fhd. Very disappointed.
- (2023-09-10) Elder: TL;DR this extension works as described. I have none of the issues described in any of the reviews left here, so I'm left to assume they're all bots. This plugin is not malicious. It is written in mostly javascript, and any child with a light understanding of JS could tell you that it's not doing anything malicious. There is no PHP in this extension. That's not how extensions work. PHP requires a webserver running a PHP executor to work. Your browser is not that. I also have not found any part of the extension that injects code from other sources -- which would be a violation of Google's Chrome Web Store guidelines. The worst thing this extension does is track the URL of the YT videos you visit. That's it. It'd be nice to be able to opt-out of that (thus I'm deducting a star from the review). As for those claiming the extension breaks other websites, that's likely unintentional. The extension is written to look for YT video elements and modify them as described. It is up to you, the end-user, to limit the extension's access to only https://www.youtube.com in your browser's extension management settings.
- (2023-09-08) Guilherme Branco Stracini: There is a bug in the extension that causes navigation errors on some sites, such as community(dot)sonarsource(dot)com, the error is generated when entering the site, and it appears that some script is being prevented from being accessed/loaded due to the site's content policies (HTTP header: Content-Security-Policy). I need to disable the extension to be able to browse the site correctly. The same happens on other sites with the contenty security policy header as well, maybe a bypass can handle this or maybe disable the extension automatically if detect the presence of HTTP header Content-Security-Policy on the tab (document).
- (2023-09-04) Fabien Chr: Plugin works perfect on Youtube but it breaks forum type website + inject tracker
- (2023-08-30) Israel Baral: it's installed trackers and is abusing its access I would uninstall.
- (2023-08-25) iLeonardito: Não existe vídeo 5k e achei a opção inútil, mas o resto eu gostei tá razoável :>.
- (2023-08-19) Hunter: I've used this ages, and it works if you set it to 1080p or below - and it won't ever go over 1080p if you set it above. But I've just discovered it has been messing with other websites. The first thing I noticed is that the Twitter website wasn't refreshing if I switched accounts. I updated Chrome, it still happened, but it didn't happen on other browsers. I turn off all extensions and it stopped. I tested it again with only one extension enabled, and it only happened when this one was enabled. I'm uninstalling now, this shouldn't be messing with other websites, it doesn't need access to Twitter or another site that isn't YouTube.
- (2023-08-19) a b: この拡張機能によって、Swift Forums(https://forums.swift.org/)など、特定のサイトが動かなくなる。
- (2023-08-18) OstepopSalat: i cant change to a lower or a higher quality if i have this enabled. dont like that
- (2023-08-16) JJNincorporated: Doesn't work unless you refresh the video. With that kind of effort I may as well set the quality myself.
- (2023-08-16) Alistair Mclean: Doesn't do anything it says on the label, meanwhile it accesses your browsing data. AVOID!
- (2023-08-15) Tech Nick: This plugin messes with discourse based forums. No clue what this plugin has to do on other sites than Youtube. From what else I see here this plugin seems to be a hidden tracker. So I will remove it.
- (2023-08-11) Bacon: it didint even do anything
- (2023-08-08) Carrie Bartkowiak: Breaks the ToDoist website so that it cannot load, breaks any .md forum such as the Obsidian forum so that you cannot scroll. Breaks the Amazon website so that you have to login a dozen times a day even when the site says you're already logged in. According to other users it also reports login data back to its creator (see comments below) - so it's likely stealing passwords. If that's true, this extension needs to be removed from the store and the creator should be charged and prosecuted.
- (2023-08-01) dreamy bubba!: works for me
- (2023-07-13) Edmond Siu: This extension is preventing Google Workspace mail from loading properly - forever stuck in the mail loading screen. It is causing the following error seen in the browser console: Refused to load the script '<URL>' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'report-sample' 'nonce-ym2vnbzps6t-px5a6degpw' 'unsafe-inline' 'strict-dynamic' https: http: 'unsafe-eval'". Note that 'strict-dynamic' is present, so host-based allowlisting is disabled. Note that 'script-src-elem' was not explicitly set, so 'script-src' is used as a fallback.
- (2023-07-10) Eldamian0: Very good extension but I can't scroll with it on the roblox devforum website.
- (2023-06-20) mewoiik: If scrolling in Discourse forums is broken for you this might be the culprit.
- (2023-06-20) Samuel 804: good.
- (2023-06-18) Artem Martynyuk: Essentially malware, as reported by other users it's tracking the behaviour of the user without consent and while publicly stating the opposite.
- (2023-06-16) VJ6IL: thaaaaaanks man
- (2023-05-23) Frank McCown: Injects trackers for every page you visit and everything you click on in violation of it's own privacy policy which asserts it does not collect any user information. See lines 90 through 104 in /1.1_0/background/main.js
- (2023-05-22) Marek Pavelka: It works, but it blocks Google Pay.
- (2023-05-01) Nug Nug: Works just fine when chrome allows it too. I need to manually activate the plugin every other day or so for it to function. Also by all means change the sites its allowed to visit to just youtube.
- (2023-04-26) Orlox Phoenix: It down work, it may has in the past, but currently it does nothing 😅
- (2023-04-20) Павел Бровко: Good, but in some websites scrollbar not working when this extension is turned on. Please, restrict access of this extension just to youtube.
- (2023-04-15) Peter Grzesik: Swapped from YouTube Auto HD + FPS as it's buggy af right now. At least this works better than the other one for now.
- (2023-04-12) Senhor rocha: Nao funciona
- (2023-04-11) weeed: If you start having problems on loading websites or having problems scrolling, I recommend to restrict the access of the extension to only youtube. Doing this actually fixed my problems.
- (2023-04-03) Hugo Massing: It blocks Google Workspace form loading. Refused to execute inline script because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'nonce-paydvnknfgommhhdqeyz0a==' *.res.office365.com *.fluidpreview.office.net *.cdn.office.net wss://*.delve.office.com:443 shellprod.msocdn.com amcdn.msauth.net amcdn.msftauth.net *.bing.com *.skype.com *.skypeassets.com *.delve.office.com *.cdn.office.net static.teams.microsoft.com teams.microsoft.com cdn.forms.office.net blob: 'report-sample' 'self' 'wasm-unsafe-eval' acdn.adnxs.com cdn.adnxs.com *.aolcdn.com jill.fc.yahoo.com stage-jill.fc.yahoo.com jac.yahoosandbox.com stage-jac.yahoosandbox.com *.arkoselabs.com". Either the 'unsafe-inline' keyword, a hash ('sha256-rU5+d2qPwNx4XRQGVnit/9nL3ttRh6EMBc204ICwhgA='), or a nonce ('nonce-...') is required to enable inline execution. Fishy...
- (2023-03-31) R J: I had to turn this off since it breaks forums and few other website's disallowing to scroll.
- (2023-03-07) Les moments sereins: it doesn't work.
- (2023-02-24) Sam Calamos: Good extension, but not sure why it needs access to ALL sites. It sometimes breaks sites like twitter and discord making it unable to scroll. I changed the permission to only access youtube.com domains.
- (2023-02-23) baros nebula: This extension is great. Sometimes, the quality just goes to 480p or keeps chnaging even though I have a 100mps connnection. SO this is helpful. But if the auto-pause option does not stop auto-play or the next video in the playlist, it will be better.
- (2023-02-21) Marc Mint: This is not working at all on Google Chrome last version... it's grey and I still have Youtube in 360 instead of full hd. I still need to change to Full HD manually again and again on almost all videos.
- (2023-02-14) westin michael: GoogleMyMap表示バグ有り
- (2023-02-11) ziplock9000: Blocks Twitter for some reason in the last week.
- (2023-02-10) Ivan F: This breaks twitter and it does not load. I tested all my extensions and only this affects twitter, what the hell?
- (2023-02-09) Roman Alekseenko: Breaks discourse-based forums
- (2023-02-06) Luca Salemi: Great simple extension, does what it tells. Including an option to disable without removing would up my vote to 5 stars.
- (2023-01-31) Avery Sakamoto: This extension is very useful and I want to have it all the time; however it prevents Gmail from loading. Soooo....
- (2023-01-22) Decline: I am a hobbyist and not an authority on this subject, but: This extension fetches and runs malicious files on your browser. This php file is obfuscated and analysis would take days, but it's definitely a malicious tracker, very likely stealing login data as well. Having video quality selected automatically can not be that important to you.
- (2023-01-14) Dustin Lang: Attempted 3 different times with different settings and none of them worked. This extension does NOT do as advertised.
- (2023-01-12) Lukáš Kráľ: It works, but... When this is enabled, the Google Pay dialog never comes up. So far I managed to solve it when I enabled the extension only for the url "https://www.youtube.com/*"
