Tired of YouTube not automatically setting videos to the appropriate quality?
This extension will not only let you specify the quality of the videos, but will also consider FPS!
This means, for example - if your computer can handle 1080p videos at 30 FPS, but not at 60 FPS - you can automatically set 60 FPS videos to play at 720p!
And the best part - it works for embedded YouTube videos as well! (I.e. YouTube videos that aren't in YouTube.com)

- (2025-04-09) Lawrence Cavens: I'm starting at 3 star to see what this extention will do , If i find it is stable and does what it must do then I shall increase my rating. One thing that should of been in the description is how to get this extention to start to work - and How you do this is refresh the page after you install it then the extention will respond to your setting of it .

- (2025-03-05) Christopher Pfeifer: Love the auto resize feature!
- (2025-02-08) TZ Shuhag: I used the Enhanced H.264 extension to reduce CPU usage and frame drops, mainly in 60fps videos. In reality, 30fps videos played fine even with AV1 or VP9. The extension smartly adjusts resolution based on fps, letting me enjoy smoother playback without sacrificing quality. Thanks a ton, dev 🤍
- (2025-01-17) Samuel Cancino Peñaloza: best extension for youtube!
- (2025-01-09) Sean Flesch: I haven't toyed with it much yet, but I wanted to point out the request for donations for paypal make the comment text box unavailable on YouTube shorts. I had to close it to be able to comment.
- (2025-01-07) Braixlet “ㅤㅤㅤ”: There seems to be an issue where it will go a quality higher if your selected one doesn't exist on a video. For example, I chose 480p, mainly because its the highest i can go without the video being 60 fps, but got 720p on a video that doesnt have 480p as an option. Some videos only have 144, 360, 720, and above. I would much prefer if it either went a quality lower instead or if there was an option for this.
- (2024-12-24) Igal Vidator: Thank you!
- (2024-12-24) Udegbunam Chuks: Worked fine for a long time then suddenly, despite been fixed at 360p it still randomly allows 1080p playback

- (2024-12-14) Ajar: works like a charm!!
- (2024-12-12) Moo Scree: Seems to work well. Regarding: "Additionally, the extension lets you choose the quality of embedded videos, which are videos outside of YouTube.com." - I don't see a choice, so I guess this is hopefully an automatic feature.
- (2024-11-27) V Y: plese add playback speed
- (2024-11-26) Gin Mador: lovely but ignores 1080p premium bitrate :( i want 720p, but get 1080p premium bitrate
- (2024-11-25) Renathe Elisabeth Rudberg: Worked great for a while, but now I'm back to being stuck at 720p again, even when this is supposed to be activated.

- (2024-09-18) Pedro Marvarez: september and still working, and the only one who has the "enhanced bitrate" option for premium users, amazing!!
- (2024-08-28) P: Something has happened since last 2-3 days...all sliders are disappeared and grayed out...so i cant shift the slider button to adjust the resolution anymore....is this any issue or its now disabled for chrome older broweser for Windows 8.1? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, didnt help!
- (2024-08-26) Makalo: lol this is the only one that still works
- (2024-08-16) Arjun R: Works perfectly on Brave, 1 Suggestion it would be awesome to have secondary resolution, i watch videos in 480p to save bandwidth when this resolution is not available it default to 1080p which drains my data if unnoticed, even if i manually switch the resolution the video has already loaded 10% in 1080p, please make a secondary resolution settings so if there is no primary resolution available it will default to secondary that i can set as 360p or as i wish, Thank you. Edit: Reply -> I do set the quality only from the extension. I was suggesting a second resolution slider if the current one is not available in the YouTube video itself (Some videos don't have some resolutions).
- (2024-08-15) Korosh Aria: it work very well.
- (2024-08-14) Quirin Halder: very good
- (2024-08-12) sjxmxndk: It is a good extension.
- (2024-08-07) X Z (Falconer): the only one that has support for auto-select Youtube Premium (higher bitrate) playback.
- (2024-08-04) Alex Smith: Excellent. This extension is the only way I've found to get YouTube to auto select the "1080p Premium" quality on desktop Chrome browser.
- (2024-08-02) Michael Spewak: It works flawlessly with Thorium browser
- (2024-07-30) Will Bartlett: currently not working when opening a video. works after refreshing the page but it is the same amount of effort to just change the bitrate myself.
- (2024-07-29) Fractal Cat: Not working
- (2024-07-25) Artun Gönül: This plugin is completely bugged now, it keeps changing resolution or refreshing the video and can't watch anything unless it is disabled
- (2024-07-08) Matt Faraday: Fantastic. It does exactly what it promises to do. I was using another extension but it just wasn't working any more and wasn't being updated. I had to search a bit to find this one and I'm glad I did. It works, and it's being maintained too, some of the others have basically just been abandoned. This works. 5/5.
- (2024-06-25) Cory Buck: The player sizing is a must.
- (2024-06-04) Satvik Sekhar: Excellent
