Patch notes:
10.0.0
- Total rewrite of the extension to work with chrome manifest v3
6.0.12
- Reduce amount of permissions needed.
6.0.11
- Fix bug which affected playing on youtube, things should be more stable now.
6.0.10
- Less crazy default settings for Spectrum Analyziz
6.0.9
- Disabled a couple of butter-scenes that were laggy.
6.0.8
- Chrome update broke utilized functionality, cannot set runtime.Port.name directly anymore, resulted in extension throwing exception and not being able to pass audiodata to scenes. now fixed by passing name in object to chrome.tabs.connect.
6.0.6-7
- Added option `opacity` to SpectrumAnalizyz
- Made ProceduralTerrain lower poly by default (you can still choose whatever poly resolution you want in scene-settings)
- Added option `FadeControls` (fades controls out when mouse is not over controls when enabled)
6.0
- MilkDrop support added (from butterchurn ttps://github.com/jberg/butterchurn) !!
- More support for this will be added, like possibility to create and use custom MilkDrop plugin
5.2
- Make custom ProceduralTerrain scenes work, they were bugged.
- Make transparent background work in proceduralTerrain
- added scene: DacingCubes3DSinus
- added scene: DacingCubes3D
- added site for sharing scenes
- added scene: DancingCubes
- added option: 'LatencyHint', default value is set to: 'playback'.
Earlier we always used 'interactive', but that caused choppy sound on some browser versions.
'playback' option is less precise than 'interactive', so if you dont have any choppy-issues with 'interactive', you should run 'interactive' :).
- made seventies scene more reactive to music
5.1
- added procedural-terrain scene !
5
- added import and export custom scene, now you can share your scene with others!
4.500.1.5
- webgl scenes added back.. seems chome has fixed it?
4.500.1.4
- webgl scenes removed, chrome+contentscript+webgl,- somethings not working right.
4.500.1.3
- Startupscene now working + optimization.
4.500.1
- DrawMode should now work without transparentmode. (transparentmode will always be active in the background while drawmode is enabled(so the scene doesnt redraw its background))
4.500
- Performance improvement, found a bug in code that resized the canvas each frame. Drawmode is back and working (except for in opengl scenes: spinningcube, sinusmode and madness)
Canvas is no longer following scrolling.
4.420.9
- Madness Scene added :O
4.420.8
- stability and performance update and removed drawmode(was not working with newer chrome).
4.420.7.2
- Canvas width will no longer make a vertical scrollbar, and canvas will now be locked to scroll height. (can make it an option, if anyone actually liked being able to scroll away from the canvas)
4.420.7
- New icon! :)
4.420.5-6
- New feature: DrawMode (located under settings) for cool effects (does not work on hexagon, spinningcube or sinuscolormix)
- Save Scene Bugfix
4.420.1-4
- bugfixes (context offset ++) new forked-scene (PainScene from WormScene)
- Added full-screen setting.
4.420
- two new scenes(DotsAndLines and ParticleCircle), better options and options experience and general code improvements(hopefully).

3.420
- fleshed out options
2.43
- stability etc
2.41
- improved gui/options and errorhandling
2.37
- categorized gui + new scene "Swipe"
2.36
- Custom example included, changed some scenes(some earlier saves may break)
2.35:

- (2025-07-12) Eric Brady: I am running Spotify in-browser so I was looking for a visualizer in-browser. I honestly can't even tell if it's synced with the music, and I don't care. There are so many options under Butterchurn alone (there are other scenes and options too)... and each one is a full visualizer that gradually cycles between designs. I flip around to one that looks good, pop out the controls (to get them out of the way), then F11 to fullscreen. Running at over 200fps at 1440p as well. It's truly miles ahead of [insert old media player visualizer here].
- (2025-05-30) Zane Tevis: This visualizer is great, it has numerous options for visuals, so it has lots of cool stuff. good stuff
- (2025-03-02) Christoph Berendes: My use case: As part of managing a livestream, have a Youtube or Facebook tab open showing the livestream, turn on the audio, and turn on the "in tab" visualizer to play at the bottom of the tab to confirm that livestream audio is working, then mute the laptop audio. The silent visualizer display was a useful "confidence monitor" for the audio. Since this doesn't play "in tab" anymore, I can't use it for this purpose - I don't want to give up my whole screen.
- (2025-02-21) V Creates: Pretty cool, but please bring back Hexagons! It was me and my sister's favorite visualizer :(
- (2025-01-28) Triple_dani: i used to use it back in april of 2024, shame it doesnt play in tab anymore! same for the custom scenes :( but still such a great extension!!!
- (2025-01-24) jack: good but it doesnt play in the browser you use anymore sadly, it instead opens its own window so you cant see what your listening too without clicking off, if possible could you add a setting to have it play on whatever tab the audio is coming from? It would be really helpful!
- (2025-01-16) Svelter: windows media player+ type visuals can't recommend enuff!!!

- (2024-12-10) Michał Szutarski: I've been searching for a way to visualize the music I play on the go for a long time. Audiovisualizer turned out to be the simplest and most effective solution. I'm honestly amazed at how accessible, straightforward, and entertaining this extension is. While I would love to see more presets for Butterchum, I am deeply grateful to the creator for such a fantastic tool. I wholeheartedly recommend Audiovisualizer to every music enthusiast. Greetings from Poland!

- (2023-12-27) Rich Rock: Worked fine for me. And it does look amazing! But couple things stopped it from being 5 stars. 1. For whatever reason, using this app will randomly "screw up" the bluetooth signal to my headphones. It's like it's on mute, but the only thing I can do is turn the extension off and back on...that fixes it. 2. I need the ability to change the shortcut keys. The command to toggle the app on/off is also my same command for closing a window (Arc browser), so I can't use it. Everything else is awesome. The beat detection seems on point, and the visualizers are mesmerizing.

- (2022-11-17) Thom Patton: Been using this beast for years. I love the visualizations with any music. A great selection of presets, too! There is a bug when hitting Ctrl+Q to start or stop Visualizer that seems to disconnect YTMusic from the sound hardware, requiring a reload of the page to fix. This is fairly annoying when I just want to downvote a song or skip ahead in my playlist.
