• (2025-07-15) Boris: As many other users stated, this extension is a necessary evil as Google is blocking the original uBlock one to protect its ads market share, under the blanket of "users online safety". We all know the only thing they care to save is their ads revenues (remember them leaking users data in incognito mode and stopped only because of the ongoing class-action?) I'm installing it on my imposed chrome work web-browser but have migrated to Firefox for all my personal deveices (phone, tablet, PC...). Google can shove its Manifest v3 up where the sun never shines. Big up to the uBlock Origin Lite developpers though!

• (2025-07-14) Anna: Disabling uBlock Origin is such a dirty move by google. Unfortunately I have to use Chrome for my job so thank you for making this lite version. For my other devices I now use Firefox or Librewolf browser -- I highly recommend those. To those who remember Chrome being superior to FF in the past, FF has come a long way and transitioning was seamless.

• (2025-07-14) Robbie Ward: Switched from uBlock to the Lite version because (Google....) and the Lite version works perfectly! Pretty much the exact same, you just don't get custom filters which I didn't use much of anyway.

I'd rather just browse and watch things at my leisure rather than be bombarded by another company holding their hand out and begging for another couple of dollars. Maybe if they wanted some extra cash they wouldn't be spending so much on advertisements, the vast majority of people already know about them, what's the point of bothering people for? Edit: Doesn't block youtube ads, nevermind I'm going to Mozilla and turning on bing for my search engine, google can go rot in a corner.

I'm very much a creature of habit and hate change but the switch was pretty seamless, you can even get a Chrome skin to ease the transition feel. Google are going to keep abusing their monopolies and our best option is to walk away now.

• (2025-07-12) Riaz Ali: btw, Slimjet is a Chromium-based web browser where you can still use Ublock Origin and any other manifest v2 addon, many of which aren't ever being updated to v3 and that I couldn't dream of using the web without. There are free online web archives of addons in case you deleted them.
