Control your browser's global screen brightness to use sites that do not support the native dark theme
This extension reduces or increases the screen brightness level for both daytime and nighttime periods based on user-defined values. It helps the websites that do not support the native dark theme. Also, it can increase the brightness of websites that are too dark. It reduces the eyestrain while reading documents online when dark mode is not supported. The extension offers two different values for daytime and nighttime duration to enhance usability.
Features:
1. Control the darkness level of all websites or just a single hostname
2. You can increase or decrease the brightness level of a website
3. Supports keyboard shortcuts for every action.
4. You can disable the extension on a single website or entirely
5. Control the brightness level from 0% (completely dark) to 120% (20% brighter than the original)
6. Supports two different methods to decrease the brightness level.
Notes:
1. By setting the brightness level to 100%, the extension does not affect browser tabs (does not inject any CSS styling)
2. It is recommended to configure the start time for both daytime and nighttime. By default, daytime starts at 08:00, and nighttime starts at 19:00.
3. By adding a website to the exception list, brightness control is turned off for this website. You can use this feature to turn off the extension on websites that support native dark mode.
4. This extension does not reduce the screen brightness when printing a webpage. There is a CSS selector that only affects "screen" type displays.
What is the difference between this extension and other dark mode extensions (e.g. "Dark Reader™" or "Turn Off the Lights™" (I do not own these two extensions))?
These extensions manipulate the styling of all elements by using custom stylesheets. They convert the light theme to dark. This extension only injects a filter to reduce or increase the original brighness. So it does not perform any resource-intensive operations and does not alter the website's styling.

- (2023-09-10) Rodrigo Sakaguchi: Ótima extensão! ajuda muito em controlar o brilho de acordo com o site especifico..
- (2023-07-28) Victor Hugo: Quando fui desinstalar ele ficou travado nesse brilho laranja.
- (2023-05-31) liam knepper: it seemed to get rid of some saturation in the colors but it works good other wise
- (2023-05-18) Etana: Works and does not give a strange yellow color like the default windows dimming
- (2023-03-06) Kennedy Budhanlall: Works really well! Only thing is that when you click 'Disable Everywhere', it still says 'Disable Everywhere' instead of being changed to something like 'Enable Everywhere'. This confused me for the first while because I thought there was no way to reenable it everywhere because there was no indication that the purpose of the button changed.
- (2023-02-15) BG: Did not work when I used it, just annoying, none of the buttons worked.
- (2022-12-19) Abdullah Shakir: It’s somewhat helpful, but it seems like it’s in need of a complete rewrite. The buttons break if you press them too much; press the Disable Everywhere button about 4-5 times and then flip between Enable Here and Disable Here a few times and suddenly, no matter which on/off option it’s on, the brightness slider doesn’t work. Fidget around with it a bit more, (closing and opening it and clicking a few buttons) and it "fixes" again. It’s annoying, because it seems like the extention can’t decide whether it’s supposed to be working or not. Suggestions: • Fix the enable/disable problem. • Combine the sliders into one slider, and put the other nighttime, daytime, apply to all or only this domain, and start time functionality in a settings menu. • Modernize the interface.
- (2022-12-14) Some Guy Online: It does it's job but the caveat is that it's breaking the baseline styles of some sites like Twitter; so for now, you just have to manually turn the plugin off for those domains. Fix this and you get 5 stars.
- (2022-12-05) Caleb Work Miller: Used to be good, now it simply doesn't work correctly anymore and it doesn't appear that the developer bothered to update it in the four months it's been broken. The toggle buttons don't work like they should although the base functionality for dimming works once the toggle actually applies. Until it's fixed, it's worthless.

- (2022-10-03) Donnie “di0__0ib”: stopped working properly about a month ago now it doesn't matter what times you set up within the extension it goes dim at midnight every night only way around it is to manually move the slider up to 100% and manually slide it back down when you want it to dim it completely ignores the app's built in scheduling this was a solid 5 stars before this
- (2022-09-28) Caleb: Good extension, does what it says, no more no less. My use case is that I use exclusively dark mode on my OS and Browser settings, so when a white screen comes up it is often too bright. This plugin mitigates that issue.

- (2022-07-07) Darth Craft: Era muito porém ele quebra em sites que já tem o modo escuro
- (2022-06-18) Josh Owen: I have sensitive eyes. I keep my screen brightness at Min and have Night Light to 'warmest' and have Dark Mode enabled and still the screen is too bright for me at night. This extension does exactly what I need : it applies an extra filter over the browser's pages and darkens it as much as I want - down to barely visible if needed. Perfect. One complaint is there are no adjustment buttons on the browser, I need to click on the extensions icon, then click on the extension itself and only then I get the adjustment for the extension. Oh and the extension doesn't work on the Google Store site - how messed up this Google platform can be
- (2022-05-29) Arkar WINN MINN HTWE: Having 2 separate bars (daytime/nightime) is super annoying. There's no 1 single control. Most importantly, the brightness doesn't apply to fullscreen videos.
- (2022-05-24) Funworks 163: Works like it's suppossed to for the most part, but recently it stopped dimming full pages and only dims certain parts of the page I'm looking at. I open up google drive and it now only dims the square sections for the document previews instead of the whole page. And it also stops working when I full screen videos. It's great to use other than those two issues and I've had this extension for a while now.
