Francis Bork 2026-02-23: Okay ext. As for me, I prefer Tabrover because it doesn't require an internet connection and is simpler. It also works better as a homepage.

Google M2 2026-02-13: developer has implemented a constant spyware like behavior for the extension, which CALLS HOME to the developers web server with IP ADDRESS & PERSISTENT IDENTIFIER unique to the browser & machine it's installed on, every 24 hours. It appears to be for a "configuration check", but the developer should have no need to isolate this down to each user and aggressively poll every 24 hours. Developer has been given no permission to remotely deploy config changes to the extension, but it is baked in. Regardless of using VPN, moving around etc. this developer gets to know every 24hrs, your unique IP address and gets to track you down to your specific machine. Huge privacy violation.

Ray 2026-02-09: Oh the awful heart sickening disappointment when you realize all your previous sessions disappeared and evaporated into thin air. Would not bother with this program unless you want extra stress. Saving sessions of info or searches is time and energy wasted if you lose it without warning.

I have used Session Buddy for over a year and it was excellent, but suddenly today I opened it to save a session and realized all my saved sessions from the last year are gone. I haven't changed anything, so losing all my work without any warning or reason is devastating. Is there any way to recover this data? I would love to change my review if this can be fixed, but right now I am very frustrated

But one day my browser (chrome) crashed and to my surprise all the data inside Session Buddy was also gone. I had years of data saved in it and everything is gone now. Could you please tell me if there is any way to restore my data. It will be of great help. THANKS.

R R 2026-01-30: When the browser crashed and failed. Session Buddy also failed, and I wasn't able to restore the old sessions.
Avery 2026-01-29: Doesnt save tabs across computers. At that point it's useless as you can just use your history tab to reopen tabs.
Candise Tu 2026-01-27: I was in the middle of writing an email when a blue screen with a smiley face and unrecoverable error appeared and my laptop shut itself down and restarted. Of course everything was closed and Chrome didn't have anything acknowledging the browser and my million tabs closed abruptly. Fortunately, I was able to open Session Buddy and it had taken a snapshot from 20 mins. ago. I am just now discovering this function and guess it's fortunate that this doesn't come up that often. The link to make a donation didn't work though...
Arpeggio Blues 2026-01-18: button appeared said it was "NEW" but I had it, so I followed it.. ya know what happened, it deletes ALL the sessions you saved, if you remove the tool and then add it back? So all those things I had are gone.. yeah.. your say it can restore a backup, but doesn't do that automatically save backups like a Digital Audio Workstation.. (imagine losing a full recording session, because a tool didn't automatically make saves????? periodic SAVES for all your work).I just assumed software developers understood that by default, back up your work, well, why don't YOU help?? GRRRRR
Eric 2026-01-15: Please make backup automatic. There is no reason for this extension unless it offers a rock solid auto-backup.
Kevin M 2026-01-09: Used to be great. Firefox then disabled it recently and now in Chrome it has become unusable after recent update. At this point it is so unreliable as to be USELESS and I don't have time to debug it any further. Please save this tool before I find something to replace it.

J K (Jae) 2025-12-30: It used to be a good plugin until the developer released a bugged update that causes the browser to crash then seemingly has abandoned the plugin. The proper thing to do would have been to immediately issue an update that disabled the automatic backup feature since there doesn't seem to be a way to disable that feature in options.

Anonymous 2025-12-17: Please use chrome.tabs.discard() on tabs after opening them!!! No one who is opening 100 tabs NEEDS all 100 tabs to be loaded into memory at the exact same time! It takes forever opening each tab one by one and fails when you're opening 100+ tabs, it used to work flawlessly and many many other extensions are able to open hundreds of tabs instantly with no problem. I've tried all the different settings, it makes no difference. No other extension has this problem!
Anonymous 2025-12-11: Its a great tool. The only functionality I ask to make it perfect for my workflow is to add the "Replace with tabs in current window" option. There is a "Replace with current session" but it will replace with all tabs in all windows, not what I want.

Anonymous 2025-12-09: Easy to use and very helpful I miss the option of adding a name for a saved session. Now all saved sessions have untitled.
Anonymous 2025-12-09: I think this add-on is excellently written. I've switched to it from my other long-time tab manager. I'm sorry some of you have had trouble with it, but it's always a good idea to use the Export feature to back up your sessions, as you'd back up any important personal data. You should never keep just one copy of anything.

(the 1star changed to 5star) ...fingers crossed after i either close browser [much later] or restart compu'r that the icons are still there.
Anonymous 2025-11-27: Another update, another instance of my entire collection gone. Totally unreliable and if you are not constantly exporting a saved file daily, you are at risk at losing everything. Use at your own caution.
Anonymous 2025-11-26: Absolutely AMAZING FREE app that's an absolute must have for any browser. Incredibly easy to use and it is so much better than just using bookmarks (especially for each and every tab open) and tab/window management. It's also a fantastic for not just saving but actually being able to open all your tabs on any computer Mac or Windows by just emailing yourself the export file. Is also great for organizing work, windows versus social media or listing products like I do and also keeping all my research organized as well. (even with tags now!). I was even able to cancel my old session manager extension as this one is better and is free too, which is incredible. I bought the developer a coffee and then some, 10/10 would recommend!

Anonymous 2025-11-12: I've been using session buddy for years at this point so giving it an extra two stars for general utility. In the last several months each update has caused all of my sessions to be deleted and this has happened multiple times. The first time I lost two years worth of stuff. This time I only lost a couple of weeks since I last backed up :/ It's a useful app, but I'm not sure how useful it is if you constantly have to manually back it up or risk everything being deleted. It would be really great if the dev could either give users a heads up to let them know to save or to have some sort of autosave feature. Again it's a very useful service and does what it says it'll do - I just wish updates didn't break my save file to use video game lingo.
Anonymous 2025-11-06: I've been using Session Buddy for years but recently, it seems to be the cause of Google Chrome constantly crashing. I just restarted my laptop, went into Chrome and saw that all my sessions were gone. Sessions I had saved from months earlier with links I needed...all gone in a flash. I followed the steps to find my data in Windows Explorer but there is no way of importing it. There's also no way to get in touch with the anyone/the developer to get help which is a real let down. I guess I'll have to find another extension like it or return to bookmarking which is long and tedious. To say I'm disappointed is a real understatement.
Anonymous 2025-11-03: I’ve been using Session Buddy for at least five years and it’s one of the best and most useful extensions out there. I honestly couldn’t live without it anymore. One suggestion for the developers: earlier versions had an undo button so if you accidentally deleted something you could just press the button to get the link or folder back. That would be a very useful feature.

Anonymous 2025-10-26: Terribly broken. Do not install. I've been a steady user of this extension for years. I used it regularly to restore my session, especially when my browser crashed. Over the past year, it's become a complete and colossal failure at that. It no longer stores sessions when Chrome crashes. And now it's lost all my sessions from the past year. This inability to due what it's promised is consistent across machines and operating systems. The developers no longer care. And the inability of Chrome itself to handle restarted gracefully has lead me to switch to Firefox, where there are better extensions for this and better support in the browser itself. This extension is garbage and should be removed.

Anonymous 2025-10-24: I've used 'Session Buddy' since . . . forever. It never ever lets me down. Example: copying entire research sessions of 800 to 1,000 tabs across a zillion open windows and then exporting the urls to a spreadsheet. Then kill the browser entirely to start over with one window and no tabs - completely fresh start. Later on I can "add links" and pick up the entire immersion of whatever work I was doing and . . . . zow . . . . . it was like I never left. This is such a reliable tool. Love it.
Anonymous 2025-10-21: Saves all windows and their tabs - only suggestion is to name each bookmark subfolders based on the Chrome window names when windows have names (RIght click on Chrome tab space -> Name Window) - rather than current default "Window"
