• (2025-06-03) Tino Kosova: Doesn't block most Twitch ads. Most twitch ads will play anyway regardless if uBlock is enabled or not. The ad blocker pops up at the wrong time when Twitch isn't running ads. Once Twitch runs ads, it won't block anything. Incredibly weird. Youtube will block you from watching video's if Ublock is enabled. I hope UBlock will fix these issues.
• (2025-05-23) Richard Rodgers: As a DoD military user overseas with an Asia/Japan IP, YouTube and Facebook have been BOMBARDING my account with pornography, human trafficking, and prostitution websites. They love to make money off of child and adult sex-trafficking websites. I detest it. I finally got sick and tired of it and did a GROK inquiry, using my X account, on how to stop it. GROK recommended uBlock. I loaded it up in all of my browsers and it NAILED the ads. I am happy to deprive YouTube and Facebook of its sex-revenue while laughing at their premium service. Who needs to pay them with UBlock?

First and foremost, it misrepresents the effectiveness of other ad blockers. This is primarily because numerous fans of this ad blocker seem to be review-bombing other similar products, which is just annoying as heck to the others, especially the small creators who just try to get higher up in the ratings. Secondly, it deletes cookies without notifying the user about what preferences or settings this action might impact. This can lead to unexpected loss of saved preferences, leading to a less personalized browsing experience. As Frank(Frank) pointed out, the ad blocker does not actually block ads on YouTube; it just hides them. This means that users still have to wait for the ads to finish or manually click "Skip" to proceed to the actual video they want to watch. This process is both frustrating and time-consuming. And they lied as when I attempted to use the "complete mode" as said by the dev, it still did nothing I felt misled about the capabilities of this product. Moreover, when I tried to uninstall it, the process was cumbersome and ineffective. Many of the steps required to remove the ad blocker did not function as expected, leading to even more frustration, They even stopped my clicks or made the Aw snap! something went wrong while displaying this page error appear. Overall, my experience with this ad blocker was deeply unsatisfactory and a significant hassle. It neither met my expectations nor provided the advertised benefits. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative options that are more reliable and user-friendly. Well that is nowhere near how bad this it

They're probably now a paid sponsor for those sites it can't/won't block which is kinda pointless yes? I'm not too thrilled with the uBlock Origin Lite, which is better than this but even that isn't quite like its main which is no longer listed with the Chrome Web store. I find even though more than half of my extensions, 'Chrome claims they are no longer supported...' they do still work. I just have to be on the ball when Chrome attempts to delete them and to stop them from being auto removed without my consent.
