- (2025-05-10) Matt Wilkinson: Have been using for a while, but am now removing. I am tired of the AI pushes. Totally unnecessary for wikipedia and horrible for the environment. I was waiting to see if they would revert, but it has been too long.
- (2025-02-19) Alejandro: New Updates have ruined the experience. They force their AI Tools on you and they changed the design in a way that makes it difficult to read the page.

- (2025-02-12) Charles Moxey: I came to this extension because of its clean simple design—a nice dark grey background with a serif font. A few months ago, they changed the design of Wikiwand. I felt it was unnecessary and I preferred the old layout (I still do), but I grew to live with the new rounded corners and segmented layout. But then came the AI stuff. I have no problem with AI features in general, but it has to add to the experience which Wikiwand's AI doesn't do. I don't want to ask questions about every Wikipedia article. I don't want an ever-present sidebar nagging me to use AI features. I don't want to sign in. I just want to read Wikipedia. Wikiwand still has a nice-looking interface, but it's a downgrade from what it once was
- (2025-02-09) Moe Kyaw: I have been with Wikipedia since the day it appeared. Thank you Wiki for your great effort to provide us with the world of knowledge.
- (2025-01-06) Maxime: Pros: - Nice UI Cons: - Way too complicated to share the Wikipedia link (instead of forcing my friends to use Wikiwand) - Banners aren't displayed. Please implement this... - Disambiguation takes the form of a button that's hidden away, which makes it much harder to switch to another page with the same name. I'm sure some people haven't even noticed it. - Some articles trigger a redirect to the normal Wikipedia, such as "Gap: The Series". Is it a bug due to the character ":"? Or maybe to the italics-formatted title? - No way to know if an article is "good" or "featured". Neither from the language list nor from the article itself.
- (2025-01-05) searchable searchable: Long time user here wow header, footer, sidebar, and floating ads? really? perhaps you should also insert more ads after every paragraph too You underestimated my adblock-fu but anyway you have shown your true color, and the usage experience it now worse OG wikipedia so I can no longer support or recommend this extension Enjoy your quick ad cash while it last
- (2024-12-28) Eduardo Neto: From a 5 to a 0. Far too many ads! It's ridiculous. Noticed I was using it just for the dark theme, easy uninstall.
- (2024-12-24) AHpx: Buggy extension causing ads, reinstalled and solved, why have I done this as an user? Should even be developers' job?
- (2024-12-23) Артем Бурлачка: The extension now has ads and privacy issues. Aggressive monetization policy has ruined the extension I used for years. The best alternative for this is "Modern for Wikipedia" extension
- (2024-12-22) Alexander Nord: Suddenly I have ads popping up on wikipedia... the direction the addon is going in is not good.
- (2024-12-22) Eric Daley: It now has ads. Wow. You couldn't just let us have a nice thing. Time to uninstall!
- (2024-12-21) Axton Yao: On the latest update you'll see a screen of annoying ads on every page you opened... You call this "enhance user experience"? You're destroying user experience. RIDICULOUS.
- (2024-12-20) G Man: Sorry but I'm not going to pay for a glorified userscript for Wikipedia. Absolutely ridiculous hahahaha
- (2024-11-28) Saurabh Tripathi: You are absolutely awesome. Edit : You are absolutely annoying. Eeverytime I visit some site its hwos welcome, message then be like lts go then be payament page then we like i choose free plan then i can access articel. why are you doing this man?

- (2024-11-19) Chan: Wow guys, congrats 👏 you've ruined one of the best web extensions ever! For years I have been a loyal wikiwand user. The ORIGINAL UI made browsing Wikipedia so much more efficient and easy. Post redesign; congrats your extension is now useless! Flooded with AI, slower buffering time than even base Wikipedia, and best of all: a Paywall. Any regular Wikiwand user would agree that a monthly subscription fee of $1.99-$3.99 would be reasonable. But $9.99-$19.99 a month?!?! To pay for a more outdated UI, flooded with useless AI, and buffering times that are at best 3x longer than OG Wikiwand UI. I wanted to support you guys, but without being able to use the OG Wikiwand UI I have chosen to uninstall Wikiwand until the devs restore Wikiwand to the original UI, Goodbye for now. 11/18/2024 update: wow, it's even slower now, installed to see if omni wikiwand was back, but nope. Uninstalled x2. Clearly Devs don't care about the supporters who were here years back, ya know, the ones who put your extension on the map... smh. best of luck.
- (2024-11-06) Martin Magnusson: Rate Limit Exceeded .. Useless
- (2024-10-31) Eduardo Ceceña: Pretty cool extension, but whenever I try to search something in the search bar it reloads the page and adds " ?title= something " to the URL bar. Forcing me to search the article by writing it on the actual URL, which is so dumb and a waste of time. The new UI is.. good? I like a lot of the things you added and the moving things around so there's a clearer view just give me back my dirt theme or "nature" theme as you call it. And please just remove the ad about upgrading Wikiwand springing and blocking view of the article which is blatantly made so you HAVE to look at the upgrades. And who is paying 5+ dollars a month for the timeline function? I only mention the timeline because you can use any of the FREE AIs at your disposal to chat and to ask them the top questions and much more. Why do I have to use an account to use Wikiwand? The goal of Wikiwand isn't supossed to be to make money, so why are you out here trying to harvest my data?
- (2024-10-28) Yevhenii Arseniev: I've been happy to use this product for 5+ years for free. With the new update, I've only just started experimenting with the AI features, but I'm already subscribed. I really want to support this project and make sure it grows into something even more amazing!
- (2024-10-25) Geoffrey James: Never as good as it previously was, where Wikipediae was excellent; and "5 Stars". Now, it has gone rather childish. And paying for this, in my opinion, is a bit of a rip off all round. But, once again and in my opinion, that's the good old US of A for you, where avarice is now the main god of everything, and it doesn't matter how money to be made, as long as it is made!!! Who really needs "AI" for this? AI is most distracting as well as being tiresome. AI is supposed to make our Iife easier.
- (2024-10-24) Tavis Bibby: Had to stop using wikiwand since the A.I., subscription update and putting the black theme in the paywall didn't help. I've switched to different extension. It was 5 stars before the change.
- (2024-10-19) GG S: Used to be much better, would've paid for it but didn't use it all that much. Must be most of their users as they've resorted to typical scummy extension practices. No one wants the AI, no one wants the intrusive privacy violations. G'bye
- (2024-10-17) Patrick D. Howell: AI features are really distractive and annoying.
- (2024-10-14) Maxens Wolfer: Pretty sad that the extension has become another AI slop generator with a paid tier for things that used to be free. The brown themes that struck the balance between unreadable black and blinding white are all gone and none of the customization is worth it. It's still better than regular Wikipedia, but not by as large a margin as before. Disappointing development.
- (2024-10-13) Leopold Pander: Can't you make the A.I. window much smaller. A pictogram would be welcome. Thanks. Personally, I prefer the old layout.
- (2024-09-30) Matthew Witzig: Used to be great, now it's ugly, and is a total cashgrab. Always resets my preferences every time I open it, uninstalling.
- (2024-09-25) Pablo 3620: I used to love it, and I love the new design even more. However, with the new design even if I log in and make an account (which I never wanted to do) I am non-stop pestered to try AI this, buy premium this which I don't want. If it just worked no accounts or AI anything I would love it.
- (2024-09-24) Gennadi Glazachev: best extension in the world, u can't prove other
- (2024-09-21) Mads Bojesen: They ruined a great product. Sadly, Wikiwand is no longer anything I would suggest to anyone as they removed all the great features, put some behind a paywall and went into the deep end with too much AI which no one uses. Uninstalled and hoping they realize the mistake they have made. EDIT: I've installed it again since they seem to have listened a little bit. However, my settings keep resetting all the time - probably because they want me to buy premium. I don't want to.
- (2024-09-17) Saidu K: Changing my 5 star review from 7 years ago. It's turning into one of those AI cash grabs. It still works, but the most recent style changes have made the extension uglier, when the whole point of me using it is to make Wikipedia look better. The table of contents used to be in a column with a different style to the rest of the content, but now it's blended in with the rest and looks worse in my opinion. Boxes now have rounded corners because developers everywhere have decided rounded rectangles and circles look best. Fonts, themes and other style choices have been locked away until you pay for them along with AI features for $9 a month. It's a shame, to be honest. I've deleted this extension and found an alternative

- (2024-09-14) Steven “Mango” Mangiaracina: Changes to font from the original Arial and doesn't give you an option to change it back (even in premium options). Arial is very easy for me to read and so right out of the gate, not having it is a deal breaker.
- (2024-09-10) Shane (shane1039): Loved it for the first couple weeks that I ever used it. Now it's ugly, has AI that no one wants and is a total cashgrab. On top of that, it resets my preferences every other time I reopen Wikipedia. Uninstalled.
- (2024-09-10) Orfeas Theofanis: New review: It used to be a great extension. Now it's bloated and keeps throwing pop-ups to login or create accounts. Uninstalling. Old review: Wikiwand is a great interface for browsing wikipedia. The ctrl+click dictionary feature seems interesting, but the shortcut should change or at least be configurable. The default behavior for ctrl+click is to open a link in a new tab, and this extension hijacks the shortcut and disables "open link in new tab" feature.

- (2024-09-06) Csaba Fábián: It used to be the best way to read Wikipedia, but since the redesign, the UI has become worse than the standard Wiki UI. I don't need AI, I don't like these new fonts (some of them are barely readable), the side panel, the pop up thingies, so I'm afraid I need to say goodbye. It's really a shame, I used to love this extension.
- (2024-09-05) Jonathan Martinez: It used to be good, now it shows non sense AI and wants to be a paid app, gotta develop another one, it's not that hard
- (2024-09-04) Viktor Malieichyk: Doesn't work. On every wiki article shows internal server error 500
- (2024-09-03) Anne Belpois: Tried installing this for my mom who doesnt speak english and theres no obvious option to make the default language anything other than english. The extension doesnt lose any time asking you for your consent when it comes to getting your private data and pushing ridiculous "AI tools" that no one asked for. Genuinely no positive evolution since Ive been using this, only downgrades. This used to be very good but at this point this is just bloatware if not even adware. Stay away.
- (2024-09-03) Richard Deng: For one thing this update is troublesome. Why I cannot change the font of Chinese characters? Noto Serif SC doesn't take any effect! Just fix this please! As well as other things mentioned in the comments!
- (2024-09-03) Wei Xiong: The AI is pretty annoy and I'm not allowed to use my prefered fonts.
- (2024-09-02) Arun Kaushik: Awesome work of getting things simplified and consistent across the wiki network.
- (2024-09-01) R B: Update 2: Uninstalled - this is better: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/modern-for-wikipedia/emdkdnnopdnajipoapepbeeiemahbjcn Update: Every couple of days it will have logged me out and I'll have to go through the rigmarole of logging in, migrating settings, reading about all the benefits of "omni", being forced through to a subscription page where I have to select the free version. I'm sure that's just an accident though, not by design. The sooner a competitor comes out the better. In the meantime will probably just go back to normal wikipedia. Updated to put all the best features that have been free forever behind a $10 monthly subscription. No way is that worth it for what is essentially changing the formatting of the page, which is all I ever needed it for. Seems from the company's responses they got greedy and tried to add a load of unwanted features in order to justify charging such an exorbitant amount for it. $120 per year is nuts. I would pay a one-off price of $5, max.
- (2024-09-01) Amber Burton: Absolutely not-get the AI nonsense out of here. People already use AI to write award-winning novels, to write academic papers, to write school papers for them, and to help with their homework in general. There is ALREADY a media literacy problem because of AI- let's try not to perpetuate it if we can, okay? And a *paywall* that costs $9/month to get some extra themes, fonts, and an additional number of bookmarks??? When did Wikiwand become a P2W game???
- (2024-08-31) Anonymous X: don't follow an AI trend, its just ruins everything. Make it like before just focus on design and simplicity Or make 2 version that are free and simple and with paid ai features. there so many 1 star review, of course developer must change it before its too late
- (2024-08-30) TheSystemGuy128: Used to be good, now it got ruined.
- (2024-08-30) Fabian Teo: What this change did was make me realize that the normal wikipedia is totally fine. I've been using wikiwand for so long I have no idea that the current wikipedia has a pretty decent site comparable to Wikiwand. Disabled the extension after the update, see that wikipedia looks good and proceed to completely uninstall wikiwand.
