Description from store 🔍 ABOUT OpenDyslexic is a free, open-source font designed to make reading easier for people with dyslexia. This extension replaces all fonts on web pages with the OpenDyslexic font, helping to make content more readable. Sometimes, our brains can play tricks on us, making letters seem jumbled or rotated. OpenDyslexic helps by giving each letter a heavier bottom, adding a sense of "gravity" that keeps them grounded. This unique feature helps you quickly identify the correct orientation of each letter, making reading smoother and more enjoyable. The distinct shapes of the letters also help prevent confusion and swapping, making it easier to follow the text without getting mixed up. 📱 SOCIAL MEDIA Stay connected and join our wonderful community: Official website: OpenDyslexic.org Like us on Facebook: OpenDyslexic Follow us on Twitter: @OpenDyslexic 🛠️ MAINTAINER A huge thank you to Robert James Gabriel for maintaining this extension and his unwavering commitment to accessibility. • (2023-10-31) savdebunnies (Sav): Unfortunately doesn't work on the majority of things I look at. Doesn't change any hyperlinks like the titles of Google search results and for some reason doesn't work on the YouTube comments section.
  • (2023-10-25) Jonathan Comyns: It was really helpful for the sites I use, too bad it isn't an actual app!
  • (2023-10-03) Jaydus T: I love this, it helps me to read/comprehend better. I've notice that it doesn't recognize and/or do well with words that are Italicized or Bolded. Either that or it's just really hard to tell. It also doesn't work with certain sites, for example this website. Certain sites get reverted to the default font. Other than those things, I really like this Extension!
  • (2023-09-22) Default User9148: Works really well, i can understand and read much better now. Sad that it doesnt work on chrome:// pages. But still love it!
  • (2023-08-20) Nettie Markus: I love this extension. It helps me with reading all the source material I have for school. But it's stopped working! No matter what I do I can't get it to change fonts on anything anymore. I uninstall and reinstall, I make sure it's turned "On" and nothing. I hope it's fixed soon!

  • (2022-09-22) Cindy Bahl (Cindy): It works for me! I just added the extension. To those who say it doesn't work, try refreshing your browser. Also? When I first turned on the extension, nothing happened. I turned it back off, reloaded the page, then turned it back on. And it works! The kink that I ran into could easily have been due to I literally have 30 tabs open at the moment. Love this extension!

  • (2022-07-07) David: Good. Free and simple.
  • (2022-06-24) Sev K: It is very good! The only problem is the letter F seems to be missing for me. Why is that?
  • (2022-05-31) LO LO (LOLOL): Jeg skal være ærlig. jeg tror ikke den hjellper dysleksien min. tror den blir værre. pluss så er teksten veldig rar og stygg. men hjelper den deg så er det veldig bra
  • (2022-05-03) Kaelyn: This is life changing for neurodivergent folks. My entire family is ND. My mother and brother have dyslexia & dyscalculia, my dad and I have ADHD, and possibly autism spectrum disorder. This helps me concentrate and comprehend what I am reading. Thank you for making this!
  • (2022-05-02) Natalie Ainbinder: I'm crying it makes things so easy to read normally reading on y computer gives me headaches and is so frustrating to do. I wish this worked in docs but it makes reading things so easy this is the best
  • (2022-04-22) Sean Cornforth: This is great. Im going to request that my works IT add it to their catalogue so I can use it there too. I just wish i could use it on my phone too.
  • (2022-03-17) Mary Beth Mueffelmann: Love this. I can finally read!! I do wish there was a font size option, the Chrome settings don't seem to change it. A little smaller and it'd be perfect!
  • (2022-02-04) Mason Jones: This extension is okay.. And it has some flaws. Like #1, it does not work on google docs, and when you close the extension it turns into regular text again. So its really wasting my time. Anyways, I gave this extension a 4/5 because people really seem to like it and it does work on other websites. I am also not really a fan of open dyselxic, but the font is kind of cool i guess. thankyou.
  • (2021-12-23) Rachel UnderCover: Works on every website but the chrome extension store oddly enough XD. This is the best extension I've found so far for dyslexia! Thank you!

  • (2021-11-10) Darren Dunavan: A few years ago a friend used the Open Dyslexic font on a powerpoint for kids camp. She is a teacher and said that she always uses it in her classed because you never know who it may benefit. When i saw it i was instantly in love!! Since then i had totally forgotten about the font until last week. I opened the YouVersion Bible app and it said that i had a new font suggestion to install... It was the Open Dyslexic font. I literally cried. This font really is a game changer for dyslexic folks (or at least for me!) Someone told me that i could get an add in on Google Chrome and BAM!!! here i am!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this!
  • (2021-09-11) Annaliese Brockman: Super great extension that makes reading infinitely easier than before.
  • (2021-09-06) I've used this extension for years but around a month ago it just stopped working. Reinstalling it, restarting my browser, restarting my computer etc. did not fix it. I really loved it while it worked but it seems many others are having this problem with no response from the developer. ;-; Please fix your extension, devs. So many people rely on it to efficiently use the internet.
  • (2021-08-29) Taylor Herbertson: Really helpful when im trying to do uni work! I dont have dyslexia but i do find reading/concentrating/understanding hard sometimes and this helps :)
  • (2021-08-12) Idan Eliyahu: I am not dyslexic, but this really helps me read. The letters aren't mushing together and they're actually distinguishable. BTW, I have ADHD and ASD, so this might be helpful for other people that are either ADHD and/or autistic. :D
  • (2021-07-13) Nachshon Lenet: Excellent. Kinda messes up some websites like Reddit and the comments, plus Amazon.. but there's not much you can do about that. Thank you!
  • (2021-06-27) Bitty Parsons: this helps me so much! I can actually read now!
  • (2021-01-22) Milo G: The extension works well! not in a google do though. Although if I want a google doc to be in this font a lot of the time I can just ctrl+a and select the open dyslexic font. It'd be nice if it worked on teacher owned documents too though. I like the font, it makes it easier for my eyes to hold on. I don't have dyslexia, but I do have adhd.
  • (2020-12-18) Sigrid C: Absolutely Improved how well I read everything. My one complaint was that there isn't a way to have it work on google docs. If Open Dyslexic was made available to Google docs my life would be complete.
  • (2020-11-02) moth: I use google docs the most on my computer, and I wish this was compatible with it. Otherwise, quite nice.
  • (2020-07-30) Poof poof'd: I can actually understand what im reading now Thankyou
  • (2020-03-10) Cam I am: i cant figure out how to use it, whenever i tried using it nothing would change
  • (2020-01-09) Peter Ralph: Works perfectly. Runs quietly in the background but can easily be activated when I need it. 10/10
  • (2019-12-16) Mecciah Adams: This is the best extension for docs.
  • (2019-12-02) Bianca Machado: I wish it would also space the lines of what I'm trying to read
  • (2019-10-31) Clay Barnes: A Dyslexia font can't cure all the problems of it, but this does as much for dyslexic readers as any font could hope for (often more)....
  • (2019-09-14) Ognjen Ugljenović: Sometimes it implements well and sometimes id doesn't. It depends on the article/page. One of the things that might be REALLY usefull if the First letter of the first word of a sentence is distinct (bolding or changing colour). This might not be universal but it helps me a lot and I think it would help other people too. Making it a toogle would be awesome. Thank you guys for this awesome extension
  • (2019-09-03) Rachelle Clark: Super helpful for my son who is homeschooling!
  • (2019-07-26) Bella Trout: This is such an amazing plug-in. My only request would be the ability to change the Hover-Highlight function to only highlight sentences instead of whole paragraphs.
  • (2019-03-24) I love this font so much!! i have been have a little trouble using it though, the first problem was that the curser was off just a little bit so typing is imposable. Another thing was that when i used to extion on google docs it cut off the words on the end on the page. if those things could be fixed it would be perfect.
  • (2019-03-14) Benjamin Burn: Amazing, so easy to read with this. I no longer have to read the same sentence three times for it to make sense.
