CaretTab - New Tab Dashboard

Very sorry to hear CaretTab is no longer in active development John. For what it does it does it like no other. I hope at the very least you will fix future issues so we can keep using this terrific extension. For me it's used for a Raspberry kiosk, weather, Volumio console display. Thanks. Earlier review I left (because we can't edit and bump reviews afaik): This really is a great app. I was looking around for a weather clock for Raspberry Pi and my small low powered monitor that I have on the wall. Couldn't find anything until I thought "maybe a Chrome app?". This does everything I want it to and more. It's very customisable so you can let your obsessions go wild. I have gone for retro green and black, however I may create a background some time. One question I have is, I use Infinity Pro for my useful bookmarks and I as both take over the new tab function I can't have both running. I'm not sure why this app needs to take over the new tab page when you only really need one instance. Is there a way I can use Infinity Pro on new tab pages and one instance of CaretTab?

Hey team, great extension. only one remark. Some file shares (as the background images) are restricted by my company and are being removed, showing only a black background. Is there any chance to add others, except Pexels? on my personal ps all runs fine :)

Amazing! The only feature I'd like to see is adding static images (e. g. the Google logo) onto the page.

I added useful things like a to-do list and weather updates to the new tab I opened. I like that it provides what I need and is customizable. It would have been better if I could drag the widgets with my mouse while setting them up.

Very good. Good optimization and the ability to upload your own photos it's amazing. Can I suggest adding some music/video integration? Maybe with Soundcloud? :)

love this app, customized it to my liking and its soo cute, has a lot of options on how to change widgets like fonts , transperancy, and adding quotes things like that. Heavily appreciate the work done on this app!!!

First impressions are great... i've chosen this one because it's open source (even tho development has stalled, they're keeping an eye on the project), and also it seems very strong on privacy and transparency. The ability to tweak settings is brilliant... add widgets, change the exact positioning etc. (That said, while i'm adjusting the settings, seems like it's using a lot of system resources. Thankfully that stops when i save settings and just open a new tab. So it's fine.)

This is the first and only new tab page extension I've tried, and it's awesome! I highly recommend it if you're looking for a way to switch up your tabs and/or homepage. P.S. - I'm a little bummed about Google changing their requirements and taking away the different search engine settings, but I still give it 5 stars! 😁

I'm among the people that liked the update, although it is a bit baffling that, even with an exported JSON of my old CaretTab settings, it still didn't backup or keep my old layout. Other than that, I do enjoy the new update. The new Blueprints are a pretty neat feature, and I like the addition of the new widgets. The only thing I'd recommend is to, at the very least, have some of the things like bookmarks and UI colors locally saved so that they aren't wiped completely whenever a major update comes out. Edit: Sad to hear that CaretTab isn't in active development anymore! I send my regards as well.

very bueno good good good, one suggestion is to make customizing easier, like if you add a load of widgets, make it so you can customize all of them at once. very bueno though would recommend. 👍

None of the reviews are lying when they say this is the best tab customizer. I highly recommend getting this.

I like how much effort the creator puts into the extension. I have zero complaints and plenty to amazement at how functional it truly is. You could go from being minimal with your front-page to going all out. For me, it increased my productivity with the quick links and to-do list right at the screen. The date widget that breaks down the time into weeks and its day relative to the year is quite useful too. I was certainly surprised to see the option to imbed external web pages, or interactive objects such as the fidget or snake widgets. Thanks for your service mate, cheers.

Great, makes using the web browser in fullscreen actually do-able. I do wish there was an option for the search bar component to be auto-focused on page load though.

Honestly, I don't think I could survive without this app. That is hyperbolic of course, but I literally keep at least ONE Chrome window open on my PC at night so I can quickly glance up to see the time. My partner and I have a Smart Clock in our bedroom, but the number of times I wake up and look towards the clock pales in comparison with the number of times that I glance up at my PC to get the time and date. Plus, being able to control the font, the layout, the theme... I could keep going, but tl;dr is that it's just a wonderful app all around and I plan on using it for as long as it exists.

I like the CaretTab - New Tab Dashboard, but there are some paywall issues. I'd like to be able to access all the features without having to pay.

I love that I can make this as minimalistic or as gaudy as I want to depending on my mood for the day. Kippis!

Very neat. I think I finally found my New Tab extension to use forever. But I do hope they add more features over time. Like the weather widget can have customizable icon position for today's weather. And it would also be really helpful to have some text read out the weather, like "cloudy" or "light rain".

Really good extension because we can customize it at our own and it so ez to do. I was in search for a extension like it and I have found it.

уже настроил версию 4.0.2, поправил файл с переводом, всё хорошо, тут бац, выходит версия 4.0.4. снова никого не спрашивая обновляется, перевод кривой, где в каких файлах его теперь править неизвестно... .... версия 4.5.0, продолжаю править "4 Март" на "4 Марта"... каждую новую версию...

Simple and easy to begin with (with too many customizations) but dev, please make something easy for us like adding customs search engine and name and placing search bar with bigger width in center like chrome homepage. Also, port your addon to edge addon store for edge browser and firefox addons store for firefox and floorp browser. I couldnt locate import export backup option for a new device.

Excellent job! I just started to use it a little bit . It was quite painful for me to set up everything for the first time to my liking but after a while it was natural. I definitely later consider ☕️ for you

looooove love love this so much. i have different chrome profiles i created for different aspects of life (academic, work, beauty/self care, fitness/health, mental health, hobbies, etc.) hoping it would help me be more organized and i got this extension on all of them. i adore my new tab dashboard!! (mine are all colour-coded to specific anime character themes lol) it is BEYOND customizable, and i adore being able to nitpick every little bit of what i see on the screen. the colour customization, the wallpaper, the transparency, the placement (was confused at first that i couldn't just drag things around the screen!), i love it all. there are things i find myself wishing this thing could do only to figure out it CAN after poking around in the settings and playing around a bit! beyond cool. i'm blown away. probs the best extension i've ever had tbh

if you have stumbled upon this page and don't know whether or not to download it, DO IT! you are able to customise everything, from the kinds of widgets you use, the kinds of font you use, even the search bar's colour and font. you are able to choose fonts, colours and widgets to make yourself happy and have a functional, useful new tab. you can even change the words "new tab" on the tab bar to other text. if you have downloaded this and love it, leave a review. im sure the creator of this has worked very hard indeed :) very impressed！
