• (2023-12-20) Manolo: This is an excellent extension manager, and it is the ONLY ONE that offers a combination of the main features of two other popular extension managers, namely (1) "NooBoss," that allows enabling extensions based on websites accessed, and (2) "Extensity" that allows creating profiles ("groups" instead in this extension). Then there is the additonal "naming" (alias) feature for extensions. The only major drawback is that the creation of rules is limited to only 10, as compared to the "NooBoss"extension where there isn't any limit. Hope the limit can be lifted. The last update was more than a year ago, on 4 November 2021. I'm hoping that this project hasn't been abandoned by the developer, and that further improvements. including lifting the limit on the creation of rules, will be forthcoming in the future.

• (2023-09-09) Google User: Too bad extension isn't supported anymore.It hasn't been updated since 2021. Rules configuration needs work (instructions). Icons or extensions (only grid view works not list) aren't easily noticed when setting up rules. Names of extensions and icons may not be accurate compared to the Chrome extension page. To setup rules to disable an extension for a given site, you need to "enable" not "disable" which is non-intuitive. It's like having the NEXT or NEXT PAGE button on the left screen instead of the write. No instructions on that. I worry this extension will break things and/or not be updated. Chrome has changed significantly since 2021 If the extension ever gets revived and these issues fixed, I'll add two more stars for five stars.

I want all sites to use and extension to change the default web font to "Arial" except when the website uses some special character that are needed "to move around" like vertical or horizontal arrows in Calendar or Google finance. On those site I would like to disable the font changer extension. So I created a rule that says "disable fonts for calendar & gmail" but that doesn't work. If I "fix" that extension, it is on all sites including calendar. If I create a default group with and another without, then all sites have the extension disabled :( Most sites use some sort of Google statistical javascript, so they all have the word "google" in the page, but not calendar.google.com ??? So I can't figure out how to fix that simple question :( Any idea anyone ?

• (2023-03-01) Hake S: Great things to say about this one. It's shockingly customizable no matter what your use cases are. Even the UI is customizable, which is rare indeed. First of all, this extension's purpose is to turn extensions ON or OFF. Saw some confused reviews on here complaining that they can't "access other extension options" from within this extension. That is not possible in Chrome for security reasons. PIN your extensions in the ACTUAL Chrome UI instead & click the ACTUAL Chrome icons to use them. Chrome remembers their placement in the extension bar even if you are constantly turning them on or off with this extension. An example of something I use this for - I have tons of cashback shopping extensions that are essentially spyware & slow down browsing if left enabled all the time. I can group them all with the extension & turn them all on & off whenever I want with no effort. I also am constantly enabling & disabling random extensions that I only need rarely (like a video downloader or a screen recording one). You can do it in one click. There's even an option to order the extensions by how often you enable them. There is an option to enable or disable extensions based on their URL, but there's a limit for it, so that is one improvement.

I have a couple of extensions that work in the background but most are interactive / require a click prompt to use . Even this extension requires you to click the icon in order to view the manager window. Extremely frustrating oversight, would otherwise be a great extension manager.

  I love Extension Manager, but it has stopped saving new settings. If I create a new grouping or modify an existing grouping, even though the "settings saved" pop up appears, the new grouping or the changes made to existing groupings do NOT save at all. Also, everything goes "blank" when I make any changes (which don't get saved) at the "options" page. After making any changes, no active and no disabled extension icons appear when I left-click the "Extension Manager" icon on the "extensions menu" and all grouping tabs disappear from the "options" page. To make extension icons show again when left-clicking the "Extension Manager" icon and make grouping tabs reappear the "options" page, I have to click the "plus" (+) tab. Once the grouping tabs reappear (by clicking on the "plus" (+) tab), the extension icons, eventually (not always immediately) appear again when I left-click the "Extension Manager" icon on the "extensions menu", but as I said, any new grouping or changes made to existing groups are lost. Is there a max number of groupings one can have? I have 20 groupings, each with the group of 8 extensions I always keep on plus a single one of my favorite extensions that don't need to be enabled all the time. Is the number of groupings a problem?
