It works fine on Firefox browser. On the Chrome App Extension when you look at details of app the error logs have info there which seems its an issue based on coding that needs to be updated. Not a surprise since certain scripts like PHP and SQL versions some have EOL and new versions have rolled out.

This previously happened with Lazarus Form Recovery when it stopped being maintained and it eventually got removed from Chrome Web Store for violating a policy. I'm again now concerned about my personal data. While form recovery apps are lifesavers, given the developer hasn't shared their privacy practices, how do I know they don't have access to all the data I've ever typed into fields in Chrome?

But I would like to say thank you to the original developer (and to those who have done their best to resurrect the project or to help some of us get going again). Typio was very useful for a good while and I am thankful that you gave of your time to help us all, for free. Life happens and who knows why you are no longer able to maintain it, putting hours more effort into keeping up with the ever changing world of Chrome Extensions and all their evolving security requirements? I hope all is good in your world. But, really, it doesn't matter why. I'm just grateful to have had it at all. :-)

Nicklas Sandell (original author) is not responding. Extension last updated in 10/2020. There is a fixed version from another developer, but original extension is licensed by "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0" which doesn't allow to modify and distribute fixed version. Therefore try using alternative extension called "Formalizr". It's almost the same, just different interface. RU: Отличное расширение. Было... С февраля 2023 года оно больше не работает. Это связано с обновлением Chrome до версии 109. Nicklas Sandell (оригинальный автор) не отвечает. Расширение последний раз обновлялось в 10/2020. • (2023-04-06) Rocky: Facebook has a nasty habit of deleting posts while writing them as part of their censorship policy. I got fed up of losing lengthy posts halfway through writing them, so this extension was a real life saver. However, last week I noticed it had disabled itself somehow, so I had to turn it back on? UPDATE: I gave the above review had a 5 star rating. However, I have had to change this to 1 star as it no longer works and it fails to detect and store deleted text. Also, the creator seems pretty deceitful too since on the `options', it falsely claims you can submit a ticket if you encounter problems. However, you can't even submit a support ticket unless you sign up for something called `Bitbucket', which doesn't allow access and you receive the error, "We can't let you see this page". The creator seems to have jumped ship since there is NO support.

• (2023-03-24) Ryan M: I've ran into the issue of typing something long up and somehow losing it (hitting the back button in the browser for exampe.) It's really frustrating and annoying. So after that happened I installed this extension hoping to never struggle through that issue ever again. Fast forward 4 months later. I'm typing up a like 5 paragraph response and accidentally hit the back button on my mouse which made me lose all of that text I had typed. No big deal I figured, I installed that extension months back so this exact scenario wouldn't ever be a problem. Felt like a genius who outsmarted the computer as I strolled my mouse cursor up to the mountain tops that is the extensions icon in Google Chrome ready to open this extension in victory. Knowing I had accounted for this very scenario and had the galaxy brain to have my text sitting right there in the extension. To make it seem like it never happened. But this extension is a piece of garbage because when I opened up the dashboard, no text was there. This extension has one job and it can't do that one single thing correctly. It's impressive how bad of a piece of software this is actually. With one singular goal, it completely misses the mark and then some sad developer actually has to publish this complete waste of time onto Google's servers and stare into his disheveled reflection beaming off of his computer monitor knowing that this abomination is his life's work.
• (2023-03-21) Micky Macanori: This is less about the fact that it no longer works and more about the fact that there have been so many times when my text was "unable to be recovered" because they couldn't be stored for some arbitrary reason. For instance, if I start a post on Twitter, it will save that post, but then refuse to store any of my replies to anyone else. It's so picky as to what it can and can't restore or save, I've given up and am uninstalled entirely, this has nothing to do with it not working with the latest Chrome update.

• (2023-03-11) tsukumi: It was a very useful extension that I used when my form content disappeared, but it stopped working when the Events.path API was discontinued. I lived without it for a while, but after a few frustrating minutes of disappearing form content, I decided to improve the source code. You can download my improved Typio Form Recovery extension from https://github.com/tsukumijima/typio-form-recovery-reboot/releases. (Note that it is not published in the Chrome Web Store, so you will need to enable developer mode on the Chrome extensions page to load it). The fixes at https://github.com/ctsstc/typio-form-recovery-reboot are great, but the Vue 2.x -> 3.x and Manifest V2 -> V3 upgrades are too many changes, and currently the configuration pages, etc. are broken. While it is preferable to keep dependencies up to date, I needed something that worked as before anyway, so I developed a version that was still Vue 2.x and Manifest V2 with minimal changes.

  Thanks for the great extension! It suits me completely, except for one peculiarity ... It is not clear why the "Black List" options are needed, when this extension, on the contrary, needs a "White List" - since the number of sites on which this extension needs to work is very small - in fact, only forums and social networks, where you often have to type text ... By default, it is logical to keep this extension disabled, and it should be enabled only on selected sites - from the same "White List". Otherwise (as now) the extension icon will appear in ANY text fields, by the way and inappropriate, sometimes even obstructing buttons, letters, frames and other interface elements. You constantly have to turn it off where it is not needed (i.e. on most sites). A whitelist would solve this problem, IMHO.

  Once the word or sentence is selected and in the text field, it seems invisible to the browser. I've seen this happen on several websites (I've just started today).   Sometimes when I recover form inputs, the website thinks it's blank text even if I can see the words. Hitting submit in reddit for instance, the site thinks I typed nothing. I have to type my own letters in, and then the post only contains those letters, not the lost form. I cannot even copy paste those forms.

I find that lately Typio just gives me "cannot auto-restore" so I copy and paste and re-enter it that way. Any idea why it can't auto-restore? I;m using Windows 10, latest Chrome and Moodle 3.7.   Does Typio store drop-down box selection choices in a form? I've got a form with several drop down lists, drop down combos, and text boxes that i have to fill out and submit. Each time i submit, everything clears. I used to could hit BACK and it would all come back to what it was prior to submission, but now it does not.   Big fans, we just love Typio & the ext. thanks KINDLY for your hard work and the concerning support you provide as witnessed here;] It's been brought to a great point of development ! I think most agree with you that the next best feature set now is probably ability for imp/export of DB. That would further resolve risk of loss of entries or even worse full loss. We all start losing entries 1 year after installing the extension since the "days old" limit is '365'. Also does setting that limit to '0' mean NEVER EXPIRE as it should or NEVER SAVE because optimally 0=forever and -1=purge history, which is easy and has been requested. Combined with confirming - setting day limit to -1 could purge Typio db history (might require dis/re-enabling ext. or restarting browser) Thanks again! I'll email you this too.

  To reproduce: go to https://community.sharefilesupport.com with Typio enabled and try to log in. Click the "Sign In" link on the top bar. This will open a login dialog. You'll be unable to click in the "Email" or "Password" fields to get the cursor inside! Disabling Typio makes it work immediately. I couldn't see anything useful on the javascript console.   Used on web version of Discord (discordapp[dot]com), I don't expect it to save everything, almost to nothing really, but it apparently does for some, but always not for very rare ones I really needed. Anyway, I lost a huge text from a message that got deleted from a bot 'cos it contained a link (which I forgot that it does so unfortunately). I'd say it should save at least 3 last messages from those various chat platforms or something. Meanwhile, thanks for this thing!

  Does this work only in Chrome? i used to have various keystroke recorders over many years, the last one was Backtrack, they were installed on my computer and they saved all documents, both online and on my computer. i use a Mac OS. This is something different, right? it's a chrome extension? not sure what that means--does it mean it saves whatever i type using Chrome? i use Safari. When i click on 'add to chrome,' i get a warning message about how it can read and change all my data. What does that mean? will it change my data without my knowledge or choosing to do it? after BackTrack stopped functioning, i looked hard for a program that could provide that valuable support against losing an hour of tying to an unwanted you tube page reload, things like that. all i could find were things that had the purpose of monitoring people who use your computer. that's not what i need, i need something that saves a copy of whatever i type, in the form i type it, so i can restore docs that accidentally get deleted. which is what i used to have for years and couldn't believe it doesn't exist anymore. i'm not sure what Typio is--only records what's typed in Chrome? thanks

  Hello, I was really happy to find Typio Form Recovery because Lazarus doesn`t work anymore, but at the moment I`m a little dissapointed. Am I doing it wrong? I just wrote a really huge text, hit the wrong button and everything was lost. I tried to recover the text and Typio didn`t safe it. This is not the first time, that it doesn`t work. I need this programm for saving texts instantly. Is there something I have to do so that it reminds everything? Thank you.

  Hello there ! First thing first, thanks for your hardwork, I really enjoy using Typio. So, my problem is that one of the sites I'm using just got a new URL adress and Typio doesn't seem to "recognize" him anymore - meaning I can't access what was saved before the URL change. I tried using the old URL to see if my lost text was still available, but it automatically redirect to the new one. Is there any way to access storage and get back my text ? Thanks in advance !

I know there is more data below that because as soon as I delete one of the three listings, another one pops up from below. I checked the console and there are no errors.
