Tracking Token Stripper
Removes Google Analytics (UTM) parameters, and various other click tracking tokens, from URL query strings.
FeedBurner and similar links often include Google Analytics tracking tokens in the URL's query string. These start with the prefix "utm_" (Urchin Tracking Monitor). Facebook and Google also add click tracking identifiers to outbound URLs ("fblid" and "gclid"). They are used by the target site to report back statistics regarding the origin of the inbound link.
This extension removes these tokens from the URL before the destination site is visited, resulting in a more private browsing experience with a cleaner URL that's more suitable for copying into an email, instant message, etc.

Does nothing. Hasn't been updated in almost a year. Checkout the issues for this extension on Github. Sadly, sophists who practice Trumpism or those with a warped mindset will assume I have something against the extension. There's no evidence this extension works. Get a reputable (free) privacy extension that does what it claims. Uninstalled.

How do we check if it works? I know that if I click on a Facebook link to a news story, it still seems to have tokens in the URL...

Took a look at the code, seems safe and probably won't be trying to steal any of the data on your website, unless some malicious party attempts to steal/hack/buy this extension see publicly available code at: https://github.com/jparise/chrome-utm-stripper/blob/master/background.js

It does remove a number of utm_* tokens, but does not remove utm_brand or utm_mailing

on Facebook i can still see on Mouse over at Links a ?acontext and ?ref, This means i will click them and they will be called, istn it?? And i see them a short time in the URL-address-field when page loads... So FB gets informed what i click it seems... o_O This is NOT what i want. Your addons should protect me from this, what it not does. Shouldnt the links be cleand IN the page befor clicking?

How about an option to temporarily disable, per page and/or completely?

So far so good, I hate those tokens. Will let you know if I find any bugs

It's exactly what I'd been looking for all my life. I hate utm_ tags with a passion. Thank you! v2.0 seems to work, but I'll report back with any issues if I find them in the next few days. If you don't hear from me, it's working great.

I like the concept of this extension, and actually used it for a while... but it interacts very badly with Buzzfeed pages, so I had to disable it.

Doesn't take advantage of the history API so it creates a new state instead of replacing the old one. Also breaks buzzfeed.
