I was a little concerned downloading because of some of the reviews saying you had to have the youtube tab open, but I've had no issues with it for the several months I've been using it now. I'll have yt open in a different tab or even a different window and my music plays nonstop for hours! This thing has been a huge lifesaver, thank you lawfx!
• (2020-02-26) Henrique Corrêa: It does it's job, but pausing with the keyboard media shortcuts is very tricky... specially when the system is slow/lagging. Also, a "pause" button would be appreciated while the pause function isn't improved.

• (2020-02-19) Adam Wadsworth: Absolute genius plugin! It does exactly what i need it to do, which is circumvent the annoying Youtube pop up asking me if i'm still watching. The Youtube pop up does stay on the screen, but does not stop the playback of the video / video playlist. As pretty much every person who is seeking a plugin like this, they'll be listening to music on a likely minimised or hidden browser tab, so that doesn't matter. This dev deserves a beer!!

• (2020-02-02) The Immortal Sun-kun: While it works, it also makes it so that whenever I pause the video while the tab is not selected using the pause key on my keyboard, it immediately unpauses. I have to pause it this way two or three times before it actually stays paused, which is very annoying.

If my pc goes idle or if im using multiple programs or if i am in other windows it doesn't work very well with google. Works fantastic in firefox though but I mostly use google for youtube bc firefox isn't as compatible with youtube features since google now owns youtube.

• (2020-01-20) Tad Lewis: Works while in AWS too! I have to work in AWS often and when changing in and out of the AWS window, YouTube was always pausing my "Grand Sound" stream. Now it it only blips for a second and then keeps playing. Thanks.

  This is recent so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot further.

  This extension has been working perfectly for some time, but the last couple of days has been failing; despite that it says it is "on". I updated the extension and then it worked for about a day, but now stopped working again. I really value this extension, YouTube is broken for my purposes without it. Thanks.

  Hi Thanks for the great extension!, I have been using streamkeys to control youtube music in chrome, and the problem was that youtube music stopped every once in a while and I needed to go to the tab and confirm the notification, your extensions resolves this issue but seem to break the possibility of streamkeys to recognize youtube music Hopefully you could create a workaround fix for this Thank you!

  Hi First of all: Great extension. Secondly: I have an issue which reoccurs. I have the extension installed along with Grammarly, AdBlock and Hoverzoom (and others which are likely not relevant). I experience, when the alert on YouTube pops up, that the video is briefly paused (0.5 seconds), then the video continues. I hope it is clear, how this is annoying when watching music videos :-). The brief stop is typically in the beginning of the video, but some seconds in the video (the stop is not at 0:00). I run Chrome version 71.0.3578.98 with 64 Bit if it is any help. BR, Nicky

  I have been using this to listen to nature sounds or lofi synthwave recently and everything was great until this morning when I woke up and the video was paused. Main site. Google and Microsoft both rolled out an update overnight that killed the hard work done by you and others who want to stop YouTube's unethical practices.
