Description from store UPDATE: Because of Gmail changing the way it operates on the backend, there is no easy fix for multi-printing (where you select multiple emails from the main gmail window) not working. I'm going to have to unfortunately deprecate that feature. -- PrettyPrintGmail lets you print Gmail emails easily and prettily. Simply select all the emails you'd like to print, press the extension icon next to your address bar, and hey, presto! Your selected emails will get printed. Bonus: it removes the Google logo and other junk from the print view as well! Only want to print a single email in a long thread? Simply click the down arrow near top-right of the email (next to the reply button), and select Print. Voila, prettified email. IF YOU'RE TRYING TO PRINT MORE THAN ONE PAGE OF EMAILS: Because the extension doesn't have any access to your Gmail account, it can only print the emails currently being displayed on your screen. This means that if you want to print an entire label's worth of emails, you'll have to do that one page at a time. Note that Gmail lets you configure how many emails appear on the screen at one time up to a maximum of 100. You can also press Alt+P instead of pressing extension icon but if some thing else uses this shortcut then it won't have the intended effect. Note that all of your emails will be compiled into one document. This takes time, so please be patient. PERSONALIZE YOUR PRINTING: Right click extension icon and press Options. Now, select whether you'd like subject / from / to / date + time to be printed for your emails! SINGLE THREAD PRINTING: Simply open an email thread, and press extension icon. SINGLE EMAIL IN LONG THREAD PRINTING: Open the particular email you want to print, click the down arrow near top-right of the email (next to the reply button), and select Print. Voila, prettified email. Check screenshot #3 if this is confusing. ----- FAQ: Q. It's not working :( A. Aww. Please send me an email! Q. Wrong emails are being selected for printing :( A. Refresh Gmail - Go to label/folder - Select emails and click the Pretty Print Gmail icon. It's possible that you selected other emails and that's confusing the extension. Starting from a clean slate will help. Note that on the main Gmail page (i.e. the one you get when you first go to gmail.com, if you select emails in Primary tab and then switch to Forums tab without first unselecting the Primary tab emails, the Primary tab emails are also selected and printed. Simply switch back to the Primary tab and unselect the emails you don't want printed and try again. Q. I can't find the extension icon! What do I click to print my emails? A. If you can't find the extension icon (orange printer button) next to address bar, click on the three dots on the extreme right of address bar. A popup with a number of extension icons should show up. One of these (the orange printer one) will be PrettyPrintGmail. Right click on this and click 'Keep in Toolbar'. ----- If extension icon is pressed outside of mail.google.com, it will simply navigate to mail.google.com. Currently works for Mac, Windows, ChromeOS, and Linux. Note that this extension is meant for Gmail only. It does not work for Inbox (by Google), but if you use Inbox there's already an easy way to print emails - click the Print button. ----- Icon credits: Plainicon from www.flaticon.com.

Because by now I have wasted an 1.5 to make this extension work and if I had just started printing one by one would have been done by now. Now I will be into my third hour fixing this. (2020-04-09) Coy McDaniel: I like that it takes the GMAIL header off of email which I do not need, so I am appreciative of that. Where I wish is worked better was to print out 'expanded' emails individually. I may be missing something but I want one email per page, since what I am printing will fit on one page. To put this another way, if I have ten emails that say 'Hello' on the first line, if I use this extension I'd want 10 separate pages as opposed to 2 or 3 pages with multiple emails on each page. I've played with it but it doesn't seem to work for me. Tips? Suggestions?

(2019-08-29) Ben Schaefer: Restart your browser after installing the plugin and it works like a charm. If you're on a machine that's short on RAM or processing power though, be very patient and/or break the job into smaller chunks. It took a solid minute to process 100 emails/600+ pages for me, and I'm on a rather powerful PC.
(2019-08-26) Jon Wu: Worked great! Printed hundreds of pages of emails at once. One thing it didn't do is print single emails (unthreaded / conversations off). It also doesn't have the option to hide previous messages in an email chain (as Gmail does in the UI by default), which is what made my printout so big, but that content is in the emails themselves.

Hi there, First of all... this is a great app!!! I'd be willing to pay for it. May I suggest you make it a business and get paid for your excellent work. Second... bit of a problem in printing selected emails from the InBox category. I selected some of the emails and pressed the icon to print the selected emails. But, the app instead printed emails in the Promotions category. Same thing happened in the other categories. It seems to want to default to emails in the Promotions category. But, then I went to a list of labeled emails... labels that I set up... and it printed them successfully. It appears a workaround is to label the emails I want printed and print from the label listing. This is ok as a workaround, but not the way it seems like the app should work. Any ideas? Again...this is a valuable app since Gmail doesn't include the capability of printing multiple emails in batch mode. Once it is working totally correctly, you could charge for it. Hello Thanks for attempting to solve this problem through your app. My issue is that although I hit the pdf button, it does not create a pdf that I can download, so I can only see the output in a link. This makes it impossible to put on a memory stick to print it out at my local printer. I can show you a screen shot if you like. Also, is there a way to capture the attachments in those emails? I have a user who is utilizing this plug-in but we're running into an odd issue. This user gets multiple emails in from a single address that all need to be printed. These emails are all individual emails containing separate invoices, hence why they come in separately. When she selects multiples to print, not only are the ones selected being printed, but so are all of the others in the inbox that came from the same address. Is this supposed to happen? We tested with just 20 emails, all from the same sender, in one inbox, selected the first one, and then the print extension opened, all 20 emails in the inbox were selected to print. Please advise on any questions you may have or any next steps to take. Thank you, Shane

I have folders set up with all communication regarding students. Some of the folders contain 100+ emails. When I try to print the emails from the folder, I only get the first 50 emails. If I go to the second page and select emails 51-100 and print, it processes the first 50 from the first page. How can I get the program to print all the emails at once?

I wanted to print about 150 emails. It would only print the first 50 emails. I ended up creating new "folders" and/or "labels" and only saving 50 emails in each. Then opening up the folder or label and printing those 50 in order to print all 150 emails I needed.

Despite selecting the emails it does not take pagination into account and always prints from the most recent email from page 1. e.g. When printing emails from page 3, it takes into account how many emails should be printed but starts printing from page 1 with the most current email first.
