Well, we had it up to here with that. So we created Finitimus.
Finitimus (beta) currently allows users to find the publish date for articles and other Internet content, with a click of a button. And believe us, this won’t just be it—there are more cool features coming your way soon!

Great tool. Does its job perfectly and I have been using it for over 10 years. So sad it has been discontinued and it is not available to new users, that I challenged myself to build a new one that does exactly the same: figure out the original, first publication date of any web page. If the article literaly has the meta data for article:published_time and article:modified_time in the source, why isn't this be checked? I have no idea, where this plugin is searching for the age of an article, but if the obivous is forgotten, and nothin is displayed, then it's not too good... ok need to edit already. another article states it was written 07 APR 2016 and the plugin tells Tue, Oct 27, 2020. Unfortunately this plugin won't be usefull for my research

I find myself using Finitimus again and again, when presented with informational content which I suspect is outdated (and yet, infuriatingly, doesn't contain any timestamp). Excellent plugin, very robust.

Very useful utility. The real published date can be essential information in many cases and this utility finds it for for me with a click of a button.
