- I came over to this after the autoplay blocker plugin got nuked by chrome's recent policy change. I only tested this on a few sites and it mostly seems to be working, but sometimes it doesn't. For example on shopify's homepage the large video that plays in the background gets blocked for a split second then it starts playing again. The plugin needs to be way more agressive, like spam .pause() for all video tags every second after page load if needed to make sure videos get blocked. I agree with the others on the text that is being overlaid on the video being way too agressive, it is almost as distracting as having the moving content of a video on a page. Plus on portrait mode videos the text goes out of bounds. I would rather not see anything, just the poster image, or the 1st frame of the video or a dark grey box then to be notified that there's a video that got blocked. I also appreciate hungarian translation, but I would rather go with english text/ui, but I didn't see any options to change that.

- Finally, a video blocker for Chrome that actually seems to work in AD 2025 on all Web sites (I hope). The only serious flaw is that every blocked video window is completely obscured by a notice that states "Blocked with Video Blocker". I would much rather see the video "thumbnail" unobscured, so that I can decide if I want to play it without actually playing it. PS Damn Google for its hateful policy that makes this extension necessary!

- Seems to work, but I find the image that it superimposes over videos to be annoying. Would be better IMHO if it just put a little icon in a lower corner perhaps?

- I've used this extension for years and it still works very well, although sometimes an auto video will load before this is activated so I refresh the page and it blocks it. Overall, it's the best of the stop auto vid extensions out there.

- It not only stops and blocks it from autoplay it makes it almost impossible to see what the video even is. You get a semi transparent message saying that it is blocked and if you wanted to watch it you had to click on it to watch it. So my problem is that if I can't clearly see the video how am I going to know if I want to click to watch it???

- It works well, but I can't figure out how to whitelist specific sites. Edit: I found it. You have to click on the small puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner (next to the URL bar) and then click on the extension's name, not the three dots for the settings.

- IT SEEMS TO WORK WELL ON CHROME. It blocks all videos and I unblock the websites I want by clicking on the extension icon. ONLY MISSING AN OPTION to paste your list of websites that you want to unblock, it would be faster than unblocking all 1 by 1. THANK YOU ! - - - - -

- As others have mentioned, it does not always work -- seems like "msn.com" videos always play. But since Chrome is disallowing more and more of the older extensions, this one is better than nothing

- This extension is just what I've been looking for. I view a lot of sites with video and the computer auto-play settings don't seem to work. It's great not to have to scroll down and click to stop the video every time. I've used it for two weeks now and it has only not worked twice!

- Seems to work as advertised, even with new Chrome extension requirements. The reason for the lower rating is that I want the ability to see which individual sites I have allowed and blocked; and to possibly export/import that list, so I can propagate my selections to different systems.

- Tested with Epic Store web and it doesn't work - autoplay worked as (they) intended, but with a weird banner over it. Uninstalled.

- Works. But would love an option for what the display of blocked videos looks like. The current implementation I find quite ugly. Especially when a site might have a full screen background video. If i could customise something, or choose a solid colour, i'd give a 5 star rating.

Newer: I loved this extension but now most videos play uninterrupted to the point that it is useless and now I will remove it. This extension was great for years but no more. the dailymail.co.uk the videos play whether it's on or not. Other sites it doesn't work either. As time passes it seems more and more sites play their video with this blocker enabled. I have to find something else

- Very good extension but another option will make it fantastic. The feature is watch video enable for few minutes, like 10 minutes. Some times we need to watch important video. that time we disable the software but after long time we realize that we forget to enable the extension. Its happen because we are addicted to videos and its consume our valuable time. So please add timer feature.

- I am an old geek (80) with a "hunter's brain," I cannot not look at something moving, my attention is immediately diverted. That means most websites just drive me nuts with all the video (I am looking at YOU Google, on my Pixel newsfeed!). This was what I wanted. It stops all of the nonsense, and provides a simple link to actually play the video if wanted. "It just works!" Hats off to the developer(s). Highly recommended.
