GcalColor
Colorize events in the new Google Calendar. (Keywords: Gcal color colors event)
In the old (pre-2018) Google Calendar, the names of events were shown in different colors. Google changed it to show the names in black, with just a colored dot to the left of the name to show the event's color. This extension changes the text color back to the event's color, and hides the dots. Events take up slightly less space without the dots.
TO CLARIFY, this extension does NOT add new colors, nor does it provide a new way to choose colors. That function is already built into Google Calendar: (1) Each of your calendars has a default color; that calendar's events are shown in that color unless changed. You can change a calendar's color in the Settings. (2) When creating or editing an event, there's a dot that shows the event's color; click the dot to change the color.

Hi, I really liked this extension, but its behaviour has changed over the last couple of days. Previously if I put a colon after a word at the beginning of an event title, it would appear highlighted in the label colour. This was extremely useful for making particular events visible and distinguishable. But now this facility is gone, can we get it back? Win 11 PC Edit: it's back! I hope it stays, the alternative of coloured text with a dot is hopeless.. added another star
I don't get it. I saw nothing to add custom colors.... and the details literally don't say how to use this. There is NO WHERE to add new or custom colors.

it has changed the name to the color instead of just a colored dot (THANK YOU!) however, I cannot find any additional colors. What am I doing wrong? No + sign or new colors on list thanks!

I've added the extension but when I go into adding an event, I don't see additional colors. I restarted Chrome but that did not help either. How can I add colors?

This is great; however, I accidentally deleted the extension and when I added it back again it didn't work. Now I don't get the "+" to add new colours. Anyone else experience this / how do I fix this?
You Rock Adele Spinasse! And, I thought I was the only one being driven nuts with all the dots. Thank you... Thank you!

You are amazing! My father relied heavily on the color coding for medical appointments and other tasks. Thank you so very much!

Rockstar extension for Google's new calendar insanity and "DOT" obsession. (Google considers "DOTS" helpful and innovative??) Hey Google there is a reason "highlighting markers and colored pens" were invented before you.

Indispensable! Thank-you! It shouldn't have come to this. I gave Google feedback on the issue. Replacing contrasting, coloured text with black was nonsense. Google Calendar's product team seems not to recognise people who keep multiple calendars. A similar problem exists in the mobile product, which does allow for changing the colour of an *event* but not for switching the *calendar* of an event.

Yayyy it makes my calendar usable again! I'm so happy. Since the update I've been making all my events full-day so they'd show up in the right color and that was a huge pain. Thank you so much!

Now I can distinguish at a glance between all my different calendars when I view them all together in month view. The new Calendar update which I was forced to switch to in January 2018 had made all the events gray. Very grateful for this extension!

I subscribe to many different calendars and rely on colours to easily distinguish the source of each event. Google really messed up with the new version of their calendar, but this extension has saved the day!

I rely on calendar colors, and the new dots for event categories was not cutting it. Thanks!
