I started digging for a solution and found this extension which works good but the only problem for me is that it hides video comments section which I do enjoy reading I must confess. I didn't have that issue while using DFTube - as I could toggle video comments on - and would have gladly given this extension a 5 star if it had provided me with same functionality.

• (2024-01-13) Anna: Amazing extension. Once you try it, you can't go without it. Wanted to report a bug though. I have bookmarked Youtube on my bookmarks bar, and for some reason the extension causes the bookmark to get triggered by mouse hovering (without having to click on the bookmark). Some times I accidentally pass my mouse over it while dragging tabs and it is annoying that my page gets re-directed to Youtube. Wondering if anyone else has come across that.
