Shameful that this would be the solution without any mention of ads. I have ad blockers installed for a reason.

• (2022-04-11) maplesyrupghost: Doesn't really work well. It worked immediately after installation, but then a couple hours later it didn't work again. A week or so later and several restarts later, it had no effect whatsoever on my YouTube videos, they appeared as normal. I uninstalled it, went to leave a review and it said I had to install the extension to leave a review. Well after re-installing it, it works again. But last time it only worked for a very short time, so I don't have much faith on this being reliable.

• (2022-01-29) Lucian Andries: It's nice, but................... Can you make the Live Chat and the chat after the stream is over, to just Collapse, instead of fully hiding it? Meaning, leave the buttons as they are, so we can get back the chat if we need to. Please! Because if we need the chat, we have to disable the option and reload the page.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ You can do a similar thing for comments as well. But in their case, you can make a button on the page, to hide/unhide them.

• (2022-01-15) Lykos Qualls: Only works when it's not in full screen autoplay mode. Doesn't actually hide the chat box itself, but it does stop the chat in general, so I can't complain about that, but it's a heads up for anyone else who does install it. Decent extension. I'd recommend for those who doesn't fall asleep with YT full screened.

Name seemed solid, pictures in store suggest you can select parts to disable. NOPE. Just nukes all the listed parts. Far WORSE : it re-enables advertising. And on that point : since when are there TWO ads?! x^6

The comments, that were previously blocked, now show up, and I need to refresh the page to get them to disappear, which is annoying. There appears to have been an update recently, and I wonder if that's why it no longer works.

  Love the extension, I consider it essential. However, recently it seems a Youtube or Chrome update has made it so when Youtube is opened in a new tab the page needs to be refreshed for the hide comments, chat, etc to work. Something you can look into, please? Thanks and warmest regards.

  Since a few days ago (~25-jul-18), the function 'Hide Live Chat' doesn't seem to work anymore. I guess some Chrome-update threw a wrench in the gearbox. Again :P
