Click to hide titles of your bookmarks. Click again to restore them.
In Options, you can tune hiding scope.
IMPORTANT: Restore the bookmarks titles before uninstalling the extension. Otherwise, the
titles will be lost.
It's because Chrome doesn't allow the extension to detect its own removal and therefore the extension cannot handle titles restoration automatically.
As a safety measure it's best to back up bookmarks before the very first use of the extension - howto: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816?hl=en

It offers a workaround to have a clean bookmark bar by removing the bookmark titles. This feature is natively missing in Chromium browsers. By removing the titles, more bookmarks fit on your bookmark bar before it's full. I genuinely love that the bookmarks stay title-less, even when the extension has been disabled. So it doesn't use any additional resources in the background. You only have to enable the extension again to convert new bookmarks, which is done by clicking twice on the extension icon. Great job!

I just tried this and it works. It just removes the 'Title/Name' on each bookmark and restores it. But it has an option to only hide the titles on the bookmark bar, and not dropdown folders or the bookmark manager. And that doesn't work.

This extension saves a copy of all bookmark titles to its internal database, it does NOT "hide" anything. It deletes the the titles when you click its icon, and, as long as you have not removed the extension, it replaces the titles from its database. Such a brute force extension. Not the least bit elegant-- I suppose that's not what the dev is going for. To ask the user to remember to do something before removing the extension is not viable, so there's nothing "Pro" about this little app, even if the dev uses that word in the description.

Does what it says, but a word of warning: It deletes the text of the bookmark titles, which requires you either re-saving your bookmarks (and removing the old ones), or manually-renaming them, in order to restore the titles. A "restore" feature would be nice

Difficult to find a true replacement for the Firefox version of Roomy Bookmarks since the chrome version isn't very good. This extension, however, works great!
