Save your Google timeline location history to a CSV file.
This is a new version released on April 28, 2018 that is designed to fix file downloading issues and add a data presentation tab.
Why pay all kinds of ongoing fees for annoying apps that use up the resources on your phone, and web based software when google timeline will track all of your movements accurately 24/7 on your smart phone or tablet for free.
You can track your own phone, quietly in the background for free using Google timeline. Then you can log into your Google timeline and USE THIS extension to generate spreadsheets that show all of your stops including dates and times and all of the mileage information that you need to generate whatever reports you need for your business, taxes and the IRS.
Similarly you can ask any of your employees to activate the free Google timeline tracking in their phones and generate the reports with them in your office using this software.
Alternatively you can create Google accounts for devices that you provide to you employees and track their travels and generate the spreadsheets yourself using this extension.
All of your timeline data is recorded and kept in your Google Timeline accounts which provides undeniable backup records that provide solid evidence of travel records.
There is a free version that allows downloads of one day at a time from only ten days in the past at http//www.xtblue.com/location-history
IMPORTANT: If you do not see the file in your computers "Download" folder, then it downloaded the file to your specific USER/Download director. To see that directory open a separate tab in your browser and enter the URL: "chrome://downloads/" to view the download location of your CVS file in your USER/Download directory.

- (2021-08-07) Don Warren: This was a good extension until it stopped working earlier this year. Many requests from users to the developer have been made with NO RESPONSE FROM DEVELOPER and NO CORRECTIONS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. Currently, the button to download the csv file does nothing! I hope this gets fixed. Many people paid for this and do not have a functioning tool. I have also spent 2 hours chatting with Google support and so far no resolution has happened. They are referring me to Microsoft. Not sure how that will help.
- (2021-05-11) Tina Dorenbecker: As of 2021 this extension no longer works; many are reporting the same problem. Very disappointing that no one is answering the issues and it doesn't appear there is another app that solves for this.
- (2021-01-22) Katlyn Laurel: It only works for some portions of some years. Currently working on 2019 and it will only show January. Previously working on 2018, it gave me Sept-Dec. Please help. Thanks!
- (2021-01-17) Dries Casier: It works, but it doesn't save to csv. I have to buy it again if I want to use it for another account? I keep getting data from the first account.
- (2021-01-12) Fernando Garcia: The extension does not work, tried to download december 2020 and the file comes empty also tried to open it in a new tab, still comes empty

- (2020-12-12) Shamshad Ali: It doesn't even work. I want my $10 back.
- (2020-09-29) Rick Harris: Performs as advertised. Thanks!
- (2020-09-07) Christopher Molnar: I have no problem paying for software such as this but in my case it is useless unless I can export the address, city, state. I need to be able to show that my miles match my customer/job location. Any chance of an update?
- (2020-08-26) Jackson Calame: Outstanding! Keep in mind, when downloading the file on Windows, it will prompt you to "Save". Make sure that when you name the file you add .csv to the end of the file name or it will not save the file type properly and will not appear to work. Great work building this! You just saved me HOURS and WEEKS of stress. THANK YOU!!
- (2020-07-26) Fredy Carvajal: Really happy with this very easy to use tool at a great price. I was staring down a days-long task trying to get all my data out of Google Maps and didn't know how to do it. I stumbled across the YouTube video first which led me to ChromeStore and pow! 5 seconds to get the data and another hour to catalogue trips by personal vs business and I have the hardest part of my Australian tax return done. Thanks for providing miles vs meters - very handy for Ozzie users. The download functionality is straight forward but the export to .csv doesn't export as that. I had to copy and paste into excel from the webpage. One enhancement I might suggest - that it's not straightforward to see what distance is associated with what destination. I am wondering if the table layout could change so that the distance is consistently aligned with the destination and the row of data which is used to designate mode (walking, moving, driving) appended to the same line? This would avoid having to clean up the data to make it more useable for dividing the data between business and personal trips. Thanks!!
- (2020-07-14) Amy Weicker: The csv file is empty when downloaded... nothing in it but the header data. Doesn't work. Please refund my money.
- (2020-01-17) Justin Business: Finally I can drop my tracking GPS software, but I really wish it displayed the accuracy of the item, some are not super accurate, and the google takeout shows the accuracy, can we add a column for that info?
- (2019-12-12) Brian Spengler: Mileage & Timeline Spreadsheets : For Business, Taxes, IRS & Fun Any chance of getting the coordinate data too?!? or city,st, or something with the actual location? (Reposted in reviews)
- (2019-11-16) Nathan Gatt: Perfect Solution. Recovered 2017 - 2018 travel logs in minutes.
- (2019-10-15) Clay: Works well for me. What a time saver! Thank you developer.
- (2019-09-10) Nat Ouellet: Not perfect but useful to get a quick and simple overview of your mileage (or kilometres traveled) with Google Timeline data. In the CSV file, dates unfortunately show randomly in 2 different formats (with forward slash and hyphen) : 10/31/2018 11-02-2018 Is there a way to fix this? Re-selecting a specific Long or Short Date format in Excel does not help.
- (2019-05-15) Tom Mayer: There are two big problems with the data. It gives you the names of the places but does not give an address or GPS coordinates. So say you eat lunch on different trips at Araby's, the sheet just says Araby's but you have no idea which one was visited. Not having a location along with a name is close to useless.
- (2019-04-21) Andrew k: Hi i downloaded the free version and it worked.. it allowed me to download the file for the date. I paid for the full version.. now i cant download any files.. can you please me fix this and i will rate 5 stars and pass on to other people who need this EDIT: I fixed it, i needed the free version still installed to use the full version. Note: would be good if we could have the address instead of the name of the business in the location
- (2019-04-12) Richard Barrick: Had some trouble but it was on my side. It was downloading 1kb files with labeled columns but no data. I have multiple Google accounts signed in, and even though I was switched so that the one with my timeline was showing, when I actually clicked on the link in the instructions page (http://www.google.com/maps/timeline) it was displaying as a different account, so I signed out completely then signed in only as the one I needed instead of just switching to it and it worked after that. Hope that can help somebody someday. More troubleshooting info on instructions page would be nice, and perhaps more options like skipping days of the week e.g. weekends. Also, it doesn't download as a csv unless you type ".csv" while saving it. Definitely useful though.
- (2019-03-28) Andrew Suderman: I would have gladly paid over $100 for this app knowing how much time it saved me. Absolutely incredible. It broke my entire tax year up into specific dates/times/locations/mileage. The mileage is so specific, here is a sample from mine:(4.189283282 miles). The only issue I had was changing the file extension to .xls to get it to open in Excel.
- (2019-02-21) Exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you!
- (2019-02-12) Jim Rice: Free version is limited, paid version is absolutely worth $9.99 - Thanks for making this extension. 1 year of timeline data - click, click, click. Done! Then only had to work on removing Sat & Sun, and "flying" mileage data. Fantastic works just as I hoped.
- (2018-05-02) Reesie R: Since the 04/29/18 update, I can now download the spreadsheets. The only issue remaining, I have to add/change the extension of the spreadsheets to .csv.
- (2018-04-18) Zech Sindt: I opened my timeline, when through all the steps as shown in the video tutorial, hit "download," and nothing happened. The button isn't even live. Please refund my $9.99. To those hoping this works, beware. It doesn't.
- (2018-03-29) Lori Hayes: not working hi - this doesn't seem to be working - I've followed your video, I put in any date range and click download csv and nothing happens - I've contacted developer, it appears several other people have too - check the support page before you purchase
- (2018-02-09) Anieca Parker LMT: Works great.
