  • (2024-03-11) hopefully there's a fix soon bc this extension is the only thing that makes tumblr usable :,)
  • (2023-02-18) zeinab: guys, its not 2012 anymore, we all use xkit rewritten now.
  • (2022-09-26) Jude Gestalt: suddenly stopped working. when clicking on the extension icon, it automatically disables the extension so you can't add any tags to it anymore. how annoying
  • (2021-08-17) Rose O'dell: I loved it before. Now though, it just... isn't working? The featured content shows, the ads show, the radar shows sometimes, the "check these tags" things shows again. I had all of that turned off. Please fix this
  • (2021-03-13) Zum1UDontNo: Pros: It does as it's advertised. If you put something in the blacklist, posts about that no longer show up. Cons: Base Tumblr offers the same services. In Settings, you can choose to filter tags, as well as filter post content. If you put a word or phrase into Filter Post Content, any posts with that word or phrase will be blocked. Not only that, there is also a bug that results in all usernames being hidden from reblog chains. This makes the website borderline unusable, since you can't tell when somebody is replying to themselves, or how many times they've added something in a reblog chain. You also can't tell if the addition at the bottom was added by somebody you follow or not. AND if you come across a post by, say, one-time-i-dreamt, or posts-from-a-darker-timeline, you'll have no way of knowing the post you're reading is fictional. Not to mention how not seeing usernames completely ruins the Shinigami Eyes extension, which a lot of people use. Will this bug be fixed? Yes, probably. But until then, this extension does nothing but hurt your experience, and it provides nothing that Tumblr itself doesn't provide.
  • (2021-01-02) Nabesima: Used to work fine, but recently stopped blocking the posts (the default warning messages show up instead) and... causes all the avatars/blog links disappear on the dashboard reblogs?
  • (2020-12-29) E.: (edited) wow i honestly cant believe how quickly youve gotten back to me, thats gotta be like, the best costumer service hands down lol. literally just like that this extension is back to being my saving grace for my experience on tumblr, thank you so much
  • (2020-04-16) giuly: i used to love ts but recently it's not working anymore and i don't know why. i tried uninstalling and installing again but it's still not working and that means this extension is useless now
  • (2020-04-10) MATU: i used to really like tumblr savior, but after the recent tumblr updates in the past month it doesnt work anymore- i keep seeing words i blacklisted on my dash and it grosses me out the built-in tumblr blacklist filters are still working, but i dont like seeing the words show up in big text telling me its there and it doesnt help at all if a post isnt tagged, please fix tumblrsavior
  • (2020-04-10) Benjamin Akins: No longer works and by default blacklisting anything with Trump or coronavirus mentioning.
  • (2020-04-09) Emily Marshall: No longer works with the old dashboard, which im still using via xkit and I don't want to switch until I have too. Disappointing since I've been using this for years.
  • (2020-04-02) berry: I love this extension but with the new dashboard layouts update it stopped working, hopefully this updates soon!
  • (2020-04-02) Tsukimi Matsuya: It stopped to work with the new tumblr, could you please do a new one? T_T... it helped me to see only what I wanted T_T
  • (2020-02-22) Roberto Giordano: Utilissimo
  • (2020-01-25) Nico: It used to work really well, but now if I add a new thing to blacklist, it just doesn't do it at all.
  • (2019-05-09) Lella Rosebud: It no longer works. It resets after a bit of time, possibly on Chrome reload, possibly after clearing cache, etc. Broken.
  • (2019-03-20) Lauren Fleming: It worked very well for a long time. Just noticed it doesn't seem to be working. Pity, I"m trying to block a specific blog from appearing on my dash at all and I can't.
  • (2019-02-08) Tag blacklists completely do not work anywhere but on your dashboard. All tags remain when browsing a specific blog, which is completely counter-intuitive and useless. I want to browse a blog but hide posts on that blog with specific tags.
  • (2018-12-20) Harmony Zantt: thanks for being a savior for me for a years! worked as intended for me perfectly for years! :3
  • (2018-11-25) E M: update removed my entire blacklist. do better.
  • (2018-10-27) Madison Nicole: ommgggggg I LOVE the new update like before it would say " This post contains ( blah x blah ) " and NOW it's like NOTP who? we don't know them. ( basically non existent in the tags after i blacklisted ) FRIGGIN BLESS.
  • (2018-09-30) Margeh75: This app seriously needs updating. My hides keep getting cleared and when i enter my saved settings it says "Those are settings are corrupt, I'm sorry but I can't use them" there should be no reason to do this.
  • (2018-09-26) Nick Haldemann: Bless you for this. You have saved me from seeing so much horrendous big chested Bowsette and Booette art in my wholesome mario tag. I am so happy this exists.
  • (2018-09-14) Kit Kat: UPDATE: 9/14/2018: Constantly resets itself, forcing me to hand-input my desired settings all over again. Please update this app. I think it needs one.
  • (2018-06-27) Clara Souvignier: Was great until super recently, now the app resets itself every time I open chrome. Hopefully this will be fixed soon but considering how many of the reviews have discussed this problem it probably won't be fixed.
  • (2018-03-27) Ronnie Delio: Functional, but kept encountering a weird bug where occasionally tumblr would simply not load a block of un-blacklisted posts while using this extension. If this were fixed, this would be the perfect extension.
  • (2018-03-13) Kit Kat: Been using this addon for years, it is absolutely my savior for when people don't tag content thanks to being able to block words from the posts themselves.
  • (2018-02-21) EB S (Eureka): It's not perfect; sometimes posts blacklisted tags are visible on my dash, probably due to the sheer number of posts. But I still cannot live without this extension. It's like nothing else, and it does hide most of the pesky posts that I hate. Thanks dev team!
  • (2018-01-18) Anna O'Brien: Thank you so much for this.
  • (2017-12-09) Nathan Buda: cloud support would be nice
  • (2017-11-26) Mrs Bee: doesn't work anymore
  • (2017-11-22) Melissa Tan: It doesn't block the blacklisted tags on tumblr.
  • (2017-10-24) Lyddi N. Melancon: only blocked like one or two posts in my blacklisted tags, all others in the tags showed.
  • (2017-09-29) meganairpower12: I wish there is a Grey list. The Grey list would behave like the current Black list and the new black list would always block the post even if it has 10 tags you white-listed.
  • (2017-08-01) Suzie: So awesome! I wish there was a mobile version.
  • (2017-05-24) Ren Steven: It prevents the k button from scrolling back up
  • (2017-05-11) Happy Person: Amazing! I am sick and tired of seeing porn on my dash! This works perfectly :D
  • (2017-04-29) Beverly King: It works in tumblr's search, but has a bug causing the pages not to load. Seems to only affect the search function.
  • (2017-04-12) Nigel Hobbs: It doesn't work anymore. When I search tags it flat out doesn't work at all and on my dashboard it only works on a few posts at the top then stops working as I scroll. Its sad because this use to be the only thing that made tumblr bearable.
  • (2017-03-31) Максим Троцкий: Достаточно просто нажать на кнопку, и эти надоевшие рекомендации чудесным образом исчезают!

  • (2021-03-04, v:1.8.0) PuppyLuver256: Pinned posts are being classified as recommended posts, blacklist won't work as intended
My pinned post contains nothing from my blacklist, yet Tumblr Savior hides it from my view. I have restored defaults to no avail, and after playing with the settings to try and figure out what the hell is going on I've discovered that it somehow has classified my pinned post as a recommended post and hides it when the option to hide those is selected. Aren't they different things? Hopefully Xkit blocks recommended posts as well without hiding pinned posts, otherwise this is another Tumblr-itself nonsense issue... On another note I've noticed that with certain terms, the blacklist does not hide the posts but instead proudly displays them with a "hide this" button on the bottom. Um...what? I blacklisted those terms for a *reason*, and to display them anyway goes against the entire purpose of that (and for the record these posts do not contain anything from my very short whitelist, so that is not a factor here). And this is more than likely just frequency bias in which people I follow are posting more about these things and not other things in my blacklist, but I get the feeling that it's always a specific group of terms that have their posts displayed despite being blacklisted. I have not tried settings to fix this, opting to instead block the posts via Xkit's post blocker extension, so any advice would be greatly appreciated in the event that the extension is working as intended here and I just messed with a weird setting in setup. (I did recently get a new computer, so I've had to relearn some things with other programs to return to normalcy as it is.)
  • (2020-09-10, v:1.3.0) Mary Lauderdale: Usernames disappearing
Starting today, 9/10/2020, tumblr savior is somehow causing the usernames on tumblr posts to disappear. My blacklist and whitelist had been automatically reset. I removed tumblr savior and it fixed the problem, then tried it again. As soon as I tried to update my blacklist, the usernames disappeared again. Not sure what's going on but I hope it's fixed soon!
  • (2020-08-23, v:1.3.0) T Mahariel (Thuviel): Not Working
I've loved Tumblr Saviour since 2012, one of the best tools out there. But with the new tumblr dash it no longer works at all. It's been a while since the update... are there any plans to update TS to work again? I'd love to know if there's a point to wait for it or if I should start look into a new tool for blacklisting...

  • (2020-04-21, v:1.1.0) Emily the loli Nightray: Not working at all
I really like this extension but it isn't working with old dashboard. It's been around a week and I'm getting tired of waiting for a fix.
  • (2020-04-15, v:1.1.0) Jocelyn Ducedre: The extension is causing issues with my blogs
I have been using this extension for many years and I love it a lot. But since the recent tumblr site update it has been causing me to be unable to see the content of the queues for any of my blogs. I have to disable the extension just to be able to see what is queued up.
  • (2020-04-15, v:1.0.0) Jennifer Bluhm: Extension not working
It's been close to a week that Tumblr savior hasn't been blocking what I've set it up to block. Please help!
  • (2020-04-11, v:1.0.0) Kel Ly: Please
Please please help us fix this. I can't handle seeing the stuff on my dash without following someone. I know you're busy and stuff, but a lot of people support this add-on
  • (2020-04-11, v:1.0.0) Katie McMahon: Not compatible with Old Dashboard setting, please help!
I understand that you've been trying to fix the extension so it works with the new dashboard, but as I and many others have reported this seems to have broken it's ability to work with the Old Dashboard setting people like me who use Xkit have access to. There has to be a way to make it work for both set-ups, I can't go without Tumblr Savior of Xkit and I need them both to use the website. Please find a way to fix this problem, I'm begging you, I've used this for eight years and don't know what else to possibly use.
  • (2020-04-10, v:1.0.0) PuppyLuver256: Attempts to work with new dashboard make it incompatible with old dashboard
I'm assuming that's what happened, anyway. Things that Tumblr Savior have completely hidden from my view for the longest time are suddenly showing up in the time before New XKit kicks in. I do not use the new dashboard, as I went into my settings to switch back to the old one as soon as it was forced upon me, and now that TS's developer is attempting to make this compatible with the new dashboard I think the process has broken its ability to work with the old dashboard that people are still using. I understand that things are difficult (I read the post about the issues of making this work, dw) and that it's a pain to make something work for two very different and simultaneously active sets of code, but keeping TS's compatibility with the old dash while people are still able to use it should be kept in mind.
  • (2020-04-09, v:1.0.0) Nicki Mai: Not Working
Tumblr Saviour is showing all of the blogs I blacklisted. Please fix this issue.
  • (2020-04-09, v:1.0.0) Swann W.: Not working
I logged in this morning to my tumblr & tumblr savior is not working anymore. I am not using the new tumblr dashboard, Xkit helps me keep the older dashboard. Is there a way I can use the version before the update of tumblr savior?
  • (2020-04-09, v:1.0.0) Sam: Not working
For few days now, i've noticed tumblr savior isn't working. I'm on chrome and i never had issues before
  • (2020-04-09, v:1.0.0) Cassie Cameron-Young: New issue
Just logged on this morning and tumblr savior is not working on my dash at all. All the tags I have blocked are in full view. I'm using Chrome, but friends are reporting it isn't working on other browsers either. I've tried all the recommended fixes but nothing works.
  • (2019-01-13, v:0.5.7) Recovering Blacklist
There must be a local file somewhere that our list is saved as, right? Need to recover my blacklist from another hdd...
  • (2019-01-13, v:0.5.7) Blacklist List Location
I'm on a new computer and only have the hard drive of the old one. Where are out blacklist terms saved? My fingers are crossed that I can still recover the file instead of trying to rebuild this!
  • (2018-10-18, v:0.5.7) fanny c: is there any way to make a tag invisible in the search?
hey, just downloaded the extension and I don't get it right. why blocked tags keep appearing to me in the search mode? if I want to search for "icons" isn't it supposed that the "kpop" tag doesn't show up anymore, once it's on blacklist? they keep doing. I'm confused bc there are a few tags I blocked in tumblr's own settings and they're still there too; I've noticed it just on search mode. the function doesn't work in the search at all? it is such an important part of the thing! :p btw tnx for working on this extension, your mission is beautiful.
  • (2018-08-27, v:0.5.7) Cole Seidner: Conversation Notes
is there a way to turn off tumblr conversation notes? supposedly .tumblr allows you to turn it off per post but that has never worked for me and I hate it with a passion
  • (2018-07-24, v:0.5.7) Tim Light: Blacklists on a blog
Maybe Im wrong and i just wasn't seeing it but the other day I was on someone's blog and i knew they had a post with a word on my blacklist because i first saw it in my mobile version. Later on my laptop I was on their page and the post was blocked like normal. But today it wasn't hidden. is there an issue. Or did it never hide posts on other peoples blog pages
  • (2018-06-27, v:0.5.7) Clara Souvignier: Tumblr savior reset
Tumblr savior resets every time I close chrome, even after saving.
  • (2018-06-18, v:0.5.7) Nell411: It's resetting every time I exit my internet
This started yesterday. Ever time I exit Chrome when I go back in my entire blacklist & whitelist has reset so it's like I just downloaded it.
  • (2018-04-23, v:0.5.6) Stephanie McGivern: resetting, can't save/load
data resets when chrome is closed so I have to manually out in all of my preferences and blocked words. save/load feature doesn't work so I can't just copy it over when it resets
  • (2018-03-29, v:0.5.4) Zellic H: blocking untagged things?
so i've got the tag "nsfw" blocked, but half the time tumblr savior will block things that don't have that anywhere in the post or even the usernames!
  • (2018-03-29, v:0.5.4) Katelyn Goodman: blocking everything
I have a problem where the entire page is blocked out and I have to click each post to see it. When this happens it's always just a single tag flagged on all the posts. Now, don't get me wrong, I have checked the posts to see if the tag popped up in some way that could cause it to block the post. However, the majority of the posts do not have anything to do with the tag, not even usernames.
