Eases your YouTube™ experience through stopping the autoplay. This version doesn't automatically start Videos.
If you have ever opened a bunch of videos in the background, you will know how annoying it is when they all start playing automatically.
With this extension you will never have to worry about videos auto playing in the background. Plus, they will auto buffer, so no annoying load-spinner.
*Note*: This does not work with playlists, as YouTube™ itself offers an option to disable auto playing the next video for those!
Difference to "Stop Autoplay for Youtube™ Extended":
This extension here does not play videos automatically.
However, it doesn't stop auto play when you have the tab in foreground (so it doesn't annoy when watching a few videos in a row).

Bottom line: don't listen to the complaints. Get it. It is likely to at least drastically cut down the nuisance if not completely eliminate. Works I would say more than 90% of the time. It's really no longer a nuisance. VERY happy! The main issue is that it seems to have a problem when ads are loading--can't block some of them but it blocks enough. So far it is blocking every youtube tab i have open when i click on it. Even if it had a 50% success rate, this thing drives me so crazy, I would take what I can. But it's much better than that. It's appalling youtube does this. Who on earth wants this? And if some do, give the rest of us an option. Sometimes these software people are just torturers...

Did not work. Wasted time so hate it
Seems to work intermittently. On videos where it doesn't work, I find refreshing engages this extension and it will work, but that kind of defeats the purpose if you have to go through an extra step just to stop a video from playing. There's an extension on Edge that works better called "YouTube No Buffer - Stop Auto-playing" so I'm going to check and see if its on Chrome as well.

Тут пишут, что не работает. У меня заработало, но с одним НО. Если видео стоит не на самом начале, т.е. вы его уже просматривали, то оно начинает работать автоматически. Если же оно стоит на самом начале, то оно не запускается! Хорошо бы конечно было, если бы ни какое видео автоматом бы не запускалось, но такой вариант тоже не плох)

das youtube video startet kurz und man hört es auch, dann stoppt es. ist okay, besser als ohne. aber schon störend. wäre besser wenn es gar nicht erst anfängt zu starten.
Funciona até melhor do que eu buscava, eu sempre tive um grave problema de deixar abas do youtube abertas e logo após eu fechar o navegador e reabri-lo o pesadelo começava, mais de 700 vozes e músicas simultaneamente gritando no meu ouvido, o problema é que eu podia só mutar que não dava nada, o problema é que eu ainda tinha que pausar uma por uma das abas, isso simplesmente é a minha salvação.

Ya, if it didn't have any affect i'd say maybe I wasn't using it right. But it does have an affect and it's really jenky. Some videos it stops from autoplaying, some it does not. So I would say no, doesn't work as purported.

Solo detiene el video al inicio, no es lo que buscaba en firefox no funciona tampoco para los desarrolladores: buscamos que el video no se inicie automaticamente y que se muestre la imagen en miniatura que seleccionamos en los videos.. porque? : porque los creadores de contenido necesitamos checkear que todo funcione bien y que incluso la miniatura cause impacto en los lectores/visores/suscriptores de nuestro canal

Seems upoop (u no what i nean) now has even removed the button to disable autoplay. So now it's necessary to use this extension. I hope it keeps working.

Works. I need to stop my vid at exact spot for my tutorial studies. I bookmark and return the next day. Don't want vid to shoot off bla bla bla before I've had my coffee. Need time turn speed down. Use this extension along with Enhancer for YouTube™ since that one's pause youtube stopped working.

buscaba esto asi simple y efectivo... AL ABRIR UN VIDEO DE YOUTUBE .. SE PAUSA AL INICIO EN ALGUNAS OCASIONES PASA QUE SE PAUSA A LOS 2 O 3 SEGUNDOS PERO EN LA MAYORIA EL VIDEO SE PAUSA SIN HABER COOMENZADO... 100% RECOMENDABLE...

I only wanted it for Watch Later where it doesn't work at all. Totally useless!
Still works OCCASIONALLY. Had to uninstall it & reinstall it to get it working again at all after Youtube's latest meddling. (Note that it's won't work if you're testing it on a refreshed video that has already loaded past 0:00, or if you open Chrome & it opens to a youtube video).

Становится и работает на ура. В интернет-магазин chrome есть ещё одно подобное расширение Auto Pause|Stop For Youtube, вот оно-то как раз глючило.
Работает автоматическая постановка видео на паузу. +++++ У меня слабый комп и это спасает от перегрева процессора. Я копирую ссылку и смотрю через Pot Player/
