Description from store INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS After downloading the extension, go to the Extension Manager and check the option "Allow access to file URLs" for this extension. SHORT DESCRIPTION This extension helps opening the original url of a page saved with SingleFile extension. SingleFile is an excellent third-party extension which allows you to archive a complete webpage into a single HTML file. It can be downloaded on https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mpiodijhokgodhhofbcjdecpffjipkle Unfortunately, when viewing such an archive, there is no easy way to reopen the original page (e.g. to check whether it has been updated since then). This extension aims at filling this gap by displaying an icon in the Omnibox (next to the favorite icon), which allows with a single click to reopen the original page saved with SinglePage. LEGAL INFORMATION Extension distributed under the GPL v3. The rights and duties stemming from this license and more generally any use of this program are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute pertaining to this program will be exclusively settled by the Court of Brussels (Belgium). For more information, open the Extensions Manager and click on "Options" next to the name of this extension. FINAL WORD Any comments are most welcome!

  • (2019-06-17) Tim A: This hasn't been updated since 2012. It is broken because SingleFile has been completely redone since then, but it is not needed anymore. Once you have installed SingleFile, you need to go into the Extensions Manager in Chrome (In Chrome options click 'More Tools' > 'Extensions' or alternatively insert: chrome://extensions/ in the address bar and press enter), when you get there find SingleFile and click 'Details' then click: "Allow access to file URLs". When you open a SingleFile page there should be an 'i' symbol inside a grey circle in the top right of the webpage, click that and it will tell you the saved time/date and there will also be another icon next to that text which you can click to go to the original online webpage. Also in the SingleFile options under 'user interface' make sure 'display an infobar when viewing a saved page' is checked (it should already be checked by default). Also if the option mentioned in the second paragraph is not checked then the symbol will not be present but will if you check the option and then refresh the page you had saved, it will reappear.
