This is because file path was relative and not absolute in the parameter file..... => If the extension has been deactivated go to chrome://extensions and uncheck activated for mark as important extension and click to activate the extension again. Update 0.9.5 : Update the exclamation point to work on Chrome with mac and windows and with outlook. Mark as Important is an extension that will allow you to add an exclamation point in the subject of your email. This exclamation point will be shown by the recipients of your email and will highlight it in their inbox. This extension provide you a way to reproduce the behavior of the outlook important function. IMPORTANT : This extension will not modify the header of your email, it is an exclamation in the subject. For the Outlook users and Lotus notes users the exclamation point will be dispayed in the subject ! The extension is easily accessible in the right click menu when you are in gmail. 1. Open a compose window in Gmail 2. Right Clic 3. Select Mark as Important 4. The exclamation point is added at the beginning of the subject of your email. Will it work outside Gmail ? It wil work on the most recent mail client on the web or on the computers.

(2019-11-25) Wiljeamps Saint Louis: Terrible. I can't believe it; this is so ridiculously useless that I started laughing. It just adds an exclamation mark in the beginning of your subject line. The exclamation mark looks exactly like the one you can type yourself. Wow. I can't believe this even exists. This extension is better off as a portfolio project than an actual extension. This is Absolutely ridiculous. LOL
(2019-03-31) Sasango Industries: It does nothing as marking mail as important, As in outlook it actually changes it importance from Low to High, it just adds an Exclamation mark in the starting of Subject, like, " ! <This is my subject line>" That's it. It just not makes any sense
(2018-05-02) Paul Klapperich: This is dumb. 1. It's broken. When I right click to mark an email as important, it replaces me subject with something I typed days ago. It's not in my clipboard; I don't even know where this extension is retrieving that text from. 2. It's useless. This ONLY adds a full width exclamation point (unicode U+FF01 "！")) to the subject line. 3. This extension does not set "X-PRIORITY: 1", "X-MSMail-Priority: High", nor "Importance: High" headers. Probably this is not possible at all in Gmail, but without these headers set, a client like Thunderbird or Outlook won't flag the message as important.

(2015-05-28) Robert Marshall: This has to be one of the most worthless extensions I've seen in a long time. I usually try and not be harsh in reviews. But, this one is warranted. The description says it does NOT modify the outgoing header to mark the mail as important so all it's basically doing is inserting an exclamation point in the subject line. I can just as easily type an explanation point without having to right click the subject field. Don't waste your time installing this. And they actually charge for the "pro" version, using a Steve Jobs quote to try and bolster its importance. Totally mystifies me on that one.
(2015-03-11) Mrs. H: I am only giving this 2 stars for the problems I am having that Jamie Lium said in her review dated Jan 23, 2015: I am also having to constantly "repair" the extension. If you fixed this issue, this extension is worth 5 stars.
